Decided to try FryYay while waiting for my reservation for the escape room. The menu has a lot to choose from, a lot of different sauce options and drink options. I ordered the wrap and onion rings with garlic parm sauce, my kids ordered chicken sando and strips and curly fries and fries with ranch sauces. All the food came out hot and crispy, and despite how busy it looked, it only took about 10 minutes or less. The four stars are because of lack of customer service. There was zero customer service. There was never anyone at the window to assist in ordering or helping navigate the system, ordering was either by app or by touchscreen. The app simply did not work for me. For a first time person or someone not so technologically capable, this would immediately be a turn away. Then each option had automatically added a tip and to change it, you had to know how and figure it out. No one took my order, the calling of the numbers were automated, I literally didn't hear anyone talk to anyone unless the customer talked first. So the tip was just for preparing the food which we were already paying for. Overall, it's a good spot for someone who is capable of navigating tech and don't like to ask any questions about the menu. We decided to give them a try since the lines were long and the tables were packed in this area. You can only order by kiosk since the humans at the register avoid eye contact as much as possible lol. The kiosk photo shows full sized hot Cheetos but it comes with hot Cheetos crumbs. And surprise, it also comes with chicken- also not in the kiosk photo lol. The fries were undercooked to mine and my kids liking. But maybe others like it that way! This was nice little spot at Belmont Park. They got a table to Oder food in front or you can Oder at the window. Got loaded fires and strawberry and strawberry lemon. Plus got some mini corn dogs. They give you the drinks first. Then when the food ready they call the same #. Everything comes out fresh and hot.. that's a great thing. They have a lot of dips you can get with your Oder. With the drinks you get a refill for 1buck. I would recommend stopping here. If you love fires. It's great spot to snank on. People work there nice as well. read more

This is one of the worst establishments I've been to; it was bad from the get-go. When we got there, the kiosk was so difficult to use that we had to order twice. Then, when we finally got our food, it was awful. This place honestly makes gas station food look luxurious. also, the tables were so disgusting we had to wipe them down with a napkin. The tables were filthy. not a single person in our party liked their meal. All of it went into the garbage. To summarize, it makes me not want to vacation in San Diego just so I won't be in the same vicinity as this dump. Don't ever come here you might get food poisoning. Good food, poor service. I visited a while back and had a great time! This time, it was a symphony of errors. It takes a lot to inspire me to write a review (positive or constructive). Too many businesses rely on product or marketing when it's relationships that make loyalty and success. Otherwise, you're constantly needing to convince people to come (and that's expensive). I was surprised by the lack of interest by the manager on-duty when I brought a matter forward. She was kind, but not helpful or problem-solving the matter. I asked to have the owner (I think Ricardo) call and she assured me he would do so, but he hasn't over the past week. To make matters worse, it took 20 minutes to order (not get the food) - and I'm not exaggerating - because I was told the window doesn't take orders and their kiosk was having issues. I'm still open to speaking with the manager. If not, they've lost a guest that was excited about their brand. read more

Well I was with my family at Belmont Park in Mission Beach and as we were walking around Belmont Park we came up to Fry Yay and looking at the outer pictures of the food on the wall it looks really good . So we couldn't hold back and we ordered on there Touch Screen pad on the outside . So we decided on some Chicken Wings and Crisscut fries and there were a couple of tables with benches for you to sit also some chairs around the restaurant also . Well we did not wait long and our food came out . Well let me tell you it was delicious and the wings were good Crisscut Fries were yummy also . It wasn't bad but it was curly fries and a chicken wrap at an amusement park/boardwalk. So it was what I thought it would be. Fried food. The chicken had a lot of gristle bits I had to spit out. I was satiated. It was a big portion. The young man who took my order was very polite, professional and patient while helping me with my order. You can order at the kiosk or at the counter. They send you a text when it's ready. It didn't take very long maybe 7-10 minutes. I probably wouldn't get it again. But not because it was bad just because of what it is. But if ever I want a fried food fix, and I'm in the area I may just get some fries or something else like that. The teenagers seemed to really like it though. read more

Fry Yay has a really nice selection of fries and toppings, and everything I tried was good. The sauces were a bit much for me, but overall it's tasty and fun. The staff was less than helpful, but it's a nice spot to grab something quick at Belmont Park. read more

Went here for my first time today and wasn't sure how it worked but Andrea was so nice and helpful!! She was so sweet to my son too. We ordered waffle fries with bbq seasoning and chicken tenders and they were fantastic. My family and I came to San Diego for a little weekend getaway. Belmont Park was one of our stops. Friyay is located near the center of Belmont Park making it very convenient. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries to share with my little one which came in a large size cup. When I was finished with my food, I noticed something unusual at the bottom of my cup. When I pulled it out, it was a pair of disposable food service gloves! I took them to the window and let the employee know that I found a pair of gloves at the bottom of my food. He looked at me crazy and was like what are you talking about, took the gloves from me and threw them in the trash, not to mention that this employee was obviously very high. He proceeded to tell me that I could get a refund so I asked for the manager. When the manager came up, she implied that she could not give a refund and asked me if I wanted something for free. I stated no why would I want to eat something else from here when I found a pair of gloves at the bottom of my food. We went back-and-forth for a minute, but once I told her that this was unsanitary she offered to give me a refund for my meal. I never even received an apology. This place is very unsanitary and the employees are extremely rude. I wish I would have taken a picture of the gloves before the employee threw them away because I know this sounds insane! read more

If I could give ZERO, I would. I ordered a single chicken sandwich combo, that's all, and I waited for almost 30 whole minutes with no other customers before and after me. Service was horrific. It started with me asking for a receipt so I could know the number of my order, and I was refused to be given one. I never heard of not providing one, but I let that slide. Next, I was asked multiple times if I was order number 13, which I was, and I kept being told that my order was being made and would take a couple more minutes. Those couple of minutes kept passing, and still nothing. I went up to the counter and asked if my order was ready, and somehow, another couple of minutes later, I told me someone else had taken my order. I also let that slide, but then I checked in again, and they said a couple more minutes (see a pattern?) and then proceeded to tell me my order number was 14 instead, and they hadn't started making the food. I was fed up waiting for "fast food" and asked for a refund. At first, I was denied because they said, "It's almost done another couple of minutes," but I stood my ground and returned the refund. While all of this was happening, I couldn't also happen to notice a heavy-set Hispanic girl constantly eating in the back (something that SHOULD NEVER be done in food service) and was not even on break, mind you, because a couple of minutes later, she made more food for herself and went on break out front of the building on the benches. To top all that, I was constantly watching if anyone was cooking in the back, and not once did someone touch a fryer or open the freezer right behind the cashier window full of frozen fries until after I complained and asked for a refund. Just a bunch of summer job students are not taking their jobs seriously. If you want fast food at Mission Beach, go to the many other options, such as "fast" food. read more
