We ordered for pickup at Ballard: 2 big cheeseburgers, a grilled cheese, a BLT, 3 large fries and a milkshake. Upon getting there, checked the order, one of the cheeseburgers was not included, so had to wait for it to be made... When we opened the order at home, a 5 minute drive away, the BLT was a cold, soggy mess. (Had only added tomato and grilled onions/mushrooms, no other toppings). Grilled cheese was also cold and my daughter said the cheese tasted like Kraft American slices. Fries were cold and limp, but quite expensive. Burgers were just "ok". Oh, how I love Five Guys. A tried-and-true burger favorite of mine where you can usually expect consistency. The staff are really friendly, and they did pretty good with the order ensuring it was worthy of the Five Guys name. This latest visit I haven't been in a long time and was itching to get back. I also wanted to throw it up against other burgers in the area I've been having on my 'unofficial burger tour'. So here we go. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger, the usual, which is automatically a double cheeseburger, so you aren't confused. The burger was great. grilled, well done with nice melty cheese and carmelized onion. The bacon was nice and crispy. What I love about Five Guys is the patties are a very good size. The fries were nicely seasoned, and most were crispy but there was a bit of inconsistency here so that was a miss. My Oreo milkshake was terrific. The cookie crumbles were a treat and I got quite a bit in there. The staff/crew here were very, very nice. Offering and asking if I wanted extras as well as other friendly chatter. The problem with this Five Guys and I see it in the other reviews that it's what I'd like to call a "City" Five Guys. That is due to it being in a major city they run up the prices on everything. This was the case in NYC. As proof I went on back to my home Five Guys in NJ to check out the prices on the website and checked. Bacon Cheeseburger back in NJ - $10.19, Seattle? - $12.49!! Regular fries NJ - $5.09, Seattle - $5.79! Milkshake in NJ - $5.09 again. Seattle - $6.29!! So be ready to pay a premium. I love Five Guys but the premium price at these ones makes so I'll be selective when I come, but everything else is oh so good! read more

I rarely crave hamburgers, but that particular night, I was watching a YouTube video about Five Guys and that inspired me to take a short walk to the nearby Five Guys. I feel like this has been around for a while, but I was able to order online before getting on my way there so that was convenient. Once I was there, staff was friendly and greeted me pleasantly. Service was quick and I was out within five minutes. This store has free peanuts too which is nice. I believe I went on a weeknight around 8 or 9 pm but there were only a few other customers. I wonder if there are times when it gets busy or crowded the service slows down...I don't see that happening in any restaurants around here, except for the hyped up (for valid reasons) places like Asadero. read more

The obvious gripe about Five Guys is that it's overpriced. Especially the fries. This whole thing where you have to order a "little fries" for $7 and then it's actually an entire grocery bag full of fries is really getting old. The gentleman with the neck tattoo gave me the best customer service I've ever had at a quick restaurant! The store was kept very clean and every member of the staff was giving off a positive energy while I was in the store. The people were coming off as genuine and not fake. The food was great as well! Usually I've had issues with food quality from other five guys, but this location got it right. I got a bacon double cheeseburger with green peppers, tomato, mayo and lettuce. Was not disappointed. You used to be able to order all the good extras without the extra cost at five guys. They also offered me a manger position a while back and glad I never accepted. I never understood the craze for these burgers. The fries are good and the peanuts you can snack on are a nice touch. The burgers and ingredients seem fresh enough. The taste of their burger I've always felt is just ok. Now as for the cost, it is pricier but I'm sure their rent is high. The biggest problem with the location is homeless around the area. The building/management of the building has done little to help address the issue with lack of security/minimal security presence. The bus stop on the 15th side is the worst. I feel bead for the employees who have to deal with it. If you are driving to this Five Guys there is a 2 hour parking lot in the building Five Guys is in. Street parking is hard to find on the busy road especially on the weekends. read more

Had such a great experience here, I'm saddened by the low rating. My wife and I were visiting Seattle and dropped by shortly before closing. I'm a vegetarian, so only she ordered. But when her food was ready they gave both of us bags of peanuts (now available by request). (They also offered unclaimed pickup food to a homeless person who came in to get water, which was very nice.) When we got back to the hotel to eat, I shared her fries (pretty much perfect fries, IMHO...starchy, salty, and just the right amount of crispiness) and also took a bite of her burger sans patty....INCREDIBLE. Been here a bunch of times and it's starting to get too hit or miss. The quality can be really good one day and the next can seem dryer or over cooked. I like the peanut snacks they have when we eat in. And they have the newer drink machines with the giant variety of flavors. The fries are ok, not a huge fan but ok enough as to me fries are a needed compliment to a burger. The customer service is general good and welcoming. I do wish they'd hit the tables a little more but not a huge deal and I get when it's busy it can be tough to jump out there. I like that parking is usually plentiful as they share a large lot with Bartells and a few other businesses. 2 hour parking is good and better then the street parking in the area is generally about 1 hour unless you deeper into the neighborhood. read more

Even their sides of stuff such as grilled mushroom were grease-bathed and flavorless. I suspect that the people who like this crappy chain don't know anything about good food. Why anyone in the Pacific Northwest we go to one of these places is beyond me. The burger/fries food in Seattle, Portland, (etc) is far far far superior to this garbage. This place is exactly why folks such as the French, Italians, Mexicans laugh at us and craooy Unired Sraresian food! Unworthy of my money and unworthy of the expansion and glowy reviews and awards they've been enjoying. The food that arrived was good. But I told the GrubHub driver my shake was missing and she said to call Five Guys. So, I did. The guy who answered the phone was kind. He said they'd screwed up and that he'd make the shake and I could come in and pick it up. I told him I couldn't move today, that I'm disabled and somedays I can walk and others I cannot. As I explained, today I'm immobile. That's why I ordered via GrubHub. Like I said, he was kind. He said he'd get the manager and see if they could figure it out. The manager picked up the phone and was rude out of the gate. He said to contact GrubHub. I told him that GrubHub had said to call them and that, by the way, this should be the easy part of someone's day. He said, "Well, it's not like I'm going to drive the shake to you." This Five Guys is great. Im always greeted by a friendly and patient worker at the front. They always take the time to go through the menu with me and ask enough questions to make sure i receive service that is beyond other fast food chains. The guys in the back also always seem to be having a good time and happy to he there. The quality of the food, and the size/amount of food i receive is usually much more than I'm expecting. The restaurant is an old school dive vibe, and they serve decent burgers with great Cajun fries, which for some reason are served in ridiculous quantities. Makes a mess of the bag, but that's alright. More fries is hardly a problem! They let you customize your burger however you want which is great, but in the end it's still a fast food burger. They charge a red Robin price for it and it's not good enough to warrant it. For a good quick meal go to Wendy's instead, or 8-ounce if you want a great burger. I'd put both five guys and li'l Woody's in similar categories, both are trying to improve the standard burger, but neither do so enough to warrant the price. read more

As burgers go, it's a good burger, just not mind-blowingly so. I do like the way everything is set-up and the fact customers can add as many burger toppings they want without having to pay more. Plus, the fact that a medium fries is basically an XXL fries. The ambience has that definite generic 1950s strip mall burger joint appearance. Yet even with a seemingly decent budget, it's apparent that no imagination or creativity went into the brand's identity, marketing, design or interior architecture - It's almost as if they settled on "Let's just open the doors." The result is some sort of homicidal circus clown operating room meets a SAW sequel. Sorry, but ambience is a part of the eating experience. And circus clowns freak the f*ck out of me. Is this the result of a lean start-up philosophy? Would I come back to Five Guys? Probably. I just wouldn't go out of my way anytime in the near future. read more

Admittedly, I've never been in this Five Guys physically. This is my go to place to order from through Postmates and that makes me happy because sometimes I'm so lazy! Lol. I trust this location. My order has never been messed up through the third party delivery service. I think Five Guys has just the best burgers. I usually order the bacon cheeseburger, and regular fry, and a drink which comes to around 15$. They DUMP fries into the bag so you get the cup of fries plus so much extra. The burger is always LOADED with whatever add on you get. I always have to split it up into two sittings because they give you so much food for your money. Some people say this is overpriced but I went to Red Mill tonight and paid 17$ for the equivalent order but got less food and the whole time I was just wishing it was Five Guys.
