Only got fries, they were very dry. Tasted like they've been frozen. So sad to see this place empty at dinner time.

If I could only eat from one hamburger chain it would be Five Guys. Wide range of toppings at no extra charge. I always get tomato, grilled mushrooms and cheese. I don't like anything trying to cover up a real burger. You will only need one order of fries for a couple because they huge. Friendly employees. If you didn't like Five Guys burgers you should stick to McDonalds and stop writing reviews. :) read more

Okay- so I was in the mood for a burger at lunch time and five guys popped up on Yelp. Never been so decided to take a gander. I can only comment on the fries because even through I ordered a cheeseburger I got a bun with all the fixings- no burger! I already was back at work when I discovered this or I would have brought it back. The toppings and bun were very tasty though! Fries were awesome! While I don't agree that it is the "East Coast's answer to In-N-Out," I think that Five Guys has touched on two all-important customer desires: FRESHNESS and QUALITY. Freshness and quality are at the heart of what makes In-N-Out crave-able and is at the core of what I think makes Five Guys a chain that will endure. Make a few quality, fresh products; make them well; sell them at a fair price. With hand-pattied burgers and whole potato fries, you could not ask for more from a burger joint (except, of course, that it become an In-N-Out instead). I come here sometimes only for the fries -- if you don't get Cajun, ask for no salt. Sometimes they can go a little heavy on the sodium content with the regular fries. The burgers are excellent. They make me think they were made for me by a friend, with a smorgasbord of burger toppings. I just get the plain ol' little hamburger all the way. Yum! read more

Ummmmmmm, yeahhhhhhhhhh. I'm a sucker for five guys in a time of weakness or hard times in an airport. I like this location. Very clean and friendly. I always order the little cheeseburger. No fries, no drink. I'm not a fan of the fries, a little to greasy for me. I like that they give you peanuts while you wait for your order, not that it takes long, but I like peanuts. Yes, this is a chain, but this is one of the best I've been to. There are gross ones in this country sadly. Not as gross as any in-n-out, but still not edible. If you haven't tried five guys try this location. Make sure if you want a single party to specify a little cheeseburger. I've made the mistake of simply ordering a cheeseburger and gotten the big guy. All that goodness At one time is to much for me :) read more

They literally forgot the burger patty on my bacon cheeseburger. Missed several other toppings on both burgers that were ordered. Second screwed up order from this location in a row, but never something as bad as leaving the literal burger patty off of the burger. The fry portions are significantly smaller right now than what Five Guys usually does. Been going here for many years but something is different about this location now. I went to the location in Devil Kill Hills in The Outer Banks on a stormy night last weekend and thought the rain and wind had landed me at an In and Out Burger in Ca! The red and white theme, the emphasis on fresh ingredients, the limited menu items, food made to order, the family ownership. Its obvious they are a copycat. Yes, a pretty good copycat but not as good as the real thing.As a Californian I am probably biased (yes, I am) but you can't really duplicate In and Out. Really?! I hate doing this...but SERIOUSLY?! First off, I would like to start off with I've been to so many Five Guys locations that if I added them up, it would probably be Five Hundred Guys, give or take an exaggeration or two! But seriously, I've been to A LOT of different ones and many different times! So, if you've never been to Five guys, the beauty of it is that you can choose your toppings and they masterfully put your burger together so you can feel the gratification when you bite into your custom made burger. I'm from California, we have In 'N Out, I am SERIOUS about my burgers! lol! :) *sigh* That's what this gets a *sigh* and not a good one either!! This location did not/does not meet my expectations! This location just slop together my burger with toppings falling off and leaving my bread soggy! Who wants to reposition their toppings because they're on one side and soggy bread?! Then, I always do, I forgot that I wanted Cajun fries, right after she rung it up! She told me, "No worries, I will tell them!" I said, "Are you sure?!" Being a Five Guys regular, sometimes they have to take it back and add the spice. This location, not only said, "You're ticket doesn't say that, so I'm not changing it!" and threw some spice packets my way. The girl who said she was going to tell them and obviously forgot, just watched the guy scold me without saying A WORD! In shock and disbelief, I just took my food to go! This isn't the first time my food was soggy and haphazardly put together at this location. I know it's just food but if I wanted just a normal thrown together burger, couldn't I just go to McDonald's and spend a WHOLE LOT LESS!! The only good thing about this location is that they had awesome random soda flavors like Coca Cola Cherry, Sprite Zero, Diet Coke Caffeine Free & Minute Maid Light. Five guys has great food, but it is expensive! They have a good amount of topping options but they don't have chili, which is disappointing imo because that's a pretty popular burger topping, at least where I'm from. When you order a fry, they will fill half the bag with fries! You can definitely share, no need to order more than 1 if it's 3 or less people eating honestly. A friend of mine invited me to Five Guys for lunch. I was very surprised at how great their cheeseburgers were. You order them with what ever you want on them at no extra cost. On the way home during a snowstorm a few weeks ago an accident diverted me into this parking lot. And thank God. There are no combos here. You want fries? You pay for fries. And I mean PAY. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, fries, and soda. I almost fainted when my total came to 10 and change. Not that I mind paying for good food, but, its a hamburger. I read my paper for ten mins and nibbled on some bulk peanuts and wallah my order is called. The burger is so big I doubt Julia Roberts could get it in her mouth. All are cooked well done which I didnt like at first but the taste was perfect. You add all the toppings you want at no charge. When I first opened the bag I thought all my fries were tossed in with no container. Then I realized there was a container in the bag and it was full. I had enough freshly cut fries for my meal, breakfast AND lunch the next day. The only avg part of my meal was the soda. Now every evening after work it takes all my will power to look away from Five Guys and keep driving. Great place and great food. read more

It's rather ironic to be writing a review for a place that lines its walls with reviews. They have been hyped from all corners of the food world, and I must say the reviews are spot-on. They're bare-bones burgers and fries, and they do both well. The standard burger comes with two patties that are fairly thin, but together they taste fresh and real. They have a fairly wide selection of toppings, which are high quality and fresh. The resulting burger is a bit messy/greasy but very tasty. The fries, which are even more greasy, are made from freshly cut potatoes and are more than one person should eat. The result of all this freshness and heart disease is a very tasty meal. However, it does come at a cost; be prepared to spend $10 for a burger, fries, and a drink, but it's definitely worth it. While I like that they keep it to the basics, I do wish they would venture into milkshakes. read more

The small burger was just enough for me and the small fry was too big for me and my friend. Who doesn't love Five Guys.. just don't go thinking it's cheap fast food because you will be in sticker shock. If you haven't read all the other reviews, don't get more than a small order of fries for 2-3 people unless you have a GIANT appetite. We could probably split a small for our family of 5. Five Guys is amazing! Hands down - the best burger in town! I was first introduced to Five Guys in Virginia while up there on a vacation. Two years later I nearly swerved off the road when I saw the sign go up on Hanes Mall Blvd announcing their arrival in Winston. I called my husband completely ecstatic. Its a really simple place - Burgers fries drinks. But their drinks are the only boring part. First, order your burger (get the small one - normal people can't finish the "regular" size) with whatever toppings you like at no additional charge. Then get your fries - the small will feed 2 people easily, the large will feed 4. Don't make the mistake we made the first time and order you own - there's too many! The fries are all fresh potatoes and cooked in peanut oil which is heavenly. Grab your ketchup and you're ready for a fantastic meal! read more

We love five guys. When we saw Grub Hub started delivering Five Guys, we were really excited. However, we did not get our child's burger. When I called, they informed me I would need to come pick it up. So, I had to pay Grub Hub the delivery fee only to end up packing up my hungry kids in the car to go pick up my missing burger. Which is what I paid to avoid! When I got to the restaurant, they did make me my missing burger but did not offer anything else. No refund of the delivery fee or explanation. We are highly disappointed and won't be ordering this way again. We cannot trust that it will be correct in the future. read more

Long story short this place is fantastic. Have been twice since opening. Recently took a party of 10 so we tried wide variety of entrees, steak, chicken comfit, short ribs, all outstanding. Wine list is not extensive but adequate and priced well for a restaurant of this caliber. Desserts were really good. Bar is well stocked. Great service both visits. Butcher shop is cool. Just had an awful experience at this location tonight!!! I WILL NOT GIVE THEM OUR BUSINESS, UNTIL THINGS CHANGE. Walked in with my adult son to place a to-go order for dinner. There was no line at the counter when we walked in or when we walked out. My son ordered his food first with the cashier named Justin L. and then I placed mine. I told Justin L. that I would like my fries "well-done, crispy" (this is very common for our family, ( this is my comment now, as well as it was at the time of the order, out loud towards Justin L.)). I asked Justin L. if my son had ordered his fries that same way, Justin L replied, no, so I asked him to make my son's fries the same way. I then completed my order with a drink, as my son walked back up to the cashier again from the soda machine. and I doubled checked with him about his fries and he said, "oh, I forgot! Yes, can I please get my fires well-done too?" (to the cashier). My son then informed Justin L. that the Coke was empty on the Free-style machine. Justin L. replied that he would get someone to fix it. I then walked over to get my drink and noticed almost 70% of the drinks available on 2 machines were out, so I too had to wait for a drink. We got our food and the machine hadn't been fixed yet, so we asked again, remember we wanted our food to go. Now, we waited for our drinks. Finally, we were on our way home. When we got home, we noticed, not only were our fries NOT well-done, crispy; half of them were practically raw inside. We were not happy, so I called the restaurant to let a manager know about our experience, as I could not go back to the restaurant to let them know in person. A pleasant employee answered the phone and I asked for a manager. Low and behold, Justin came on the other end of the phone. I asked if he was a manger, he replied, "yes, one of them". I proceeded to tell him everything above AGAIN. His reply " Sorry ma'am, I don't remember anyone tonight ordering fries well-done." I asked, "REALLY?" He stated, REALLY!!!! and hung up. Our receipt is time stamped 6:32 pm and I made the call from my cell at 6:52 pm. So, within 20 minutes, Justin L. (A manager) has come down with Amnesia!?!?!?! (There was no line ever, that we saw at the restaurant) As a manger and leader of this great chain it was astonishing that he did not exemplify the initiative to keep up franchise standards and moreover exhibited poor leadership skills towards good customer service. We have lived all over this country and been to MANY Five Guys for years, and now we will not visit this location until it is under better management. I have also called the customer service number on the main website to let them know exactly what happened with our quality and the customer service that we received at this location. Regardless, if you believe that I was right or wrong tonight, do you EVER tell a customer no??? read more

the main problem is that the parking is horrible and finding a parking space. And the traffic can be bad and cannot get into the place. On a limit time to be at lunch there. And had to go to the shopping center behind it. And walk there. Traffic in that area is very bad at times. And the traffic time not allow us to go there. The traffic very busy. And it takes too much time to drive around to shopping center to get there. Have to walk from behind the restaurant to get there. And to stand in line to get the food. If we have something to do there besides the restaurant. We would go there. Nothing problem about the restaurant is just getting there is the main problem. I went into Five Guys in August and there were two people making my food. It was an morbidly obese lightskinned African-America woman and a loud African-American male. They were disrespectful and laughing at us blatantly while we were in the restaurant while making our food. It was completely distasteful and rude. The food was great and the Cajun fries were absolutely scrumptious and the Cashier who served us was a very nice guy. And made us feel very welcome besides the snide and smart remarks given by the people making our food. Overall... I was disappointed with the service and for that I must give this review. Why do so many people enjoy this franchise? Seriously. Overblown hype. First and foremost, THE PRICE! Geez! This is steakhouse prices for fast food. Granted they give you a lot of burger but what good is it when it slides off your bun because its so damn greasy. I find the price insulting. Second, THE GREASE! A brown paper bag saturated in french fry grease. It just isn't appealing. I love burgers and fries but I'd go broke if I had to eat here. I'd save my money!! Mediocre burger patties and the cheese isn't even melted on the meat. That to me, is an amateur move for such a large price. The buns are compatible with BK and Wendy's.. but for cheaper. I couldn't even choose a different cheese on my cheeseburger. To top it off.. the bathrooms were disgusting and so was the dining area. Had to eat in the car outside because no seats were set up outside. Save, turn around and go to, Good Times Bbq in Pilot Mountain.. same prices but on a better roll, choices of different cheeses and I get to have a beer while my patty is made fresh before me. I don't understand the urge to dip sandwich and fries into ranch dressing? if have to disguise your food with ranch dressing it wasn't good to start with.
