Though my family has been coming to this shop for several years now, I personally never had the opportunity to work directly with this shop until 2014. This is the second time this year I've had a bike serviced here and both times I've received excellent service. Pablo took the time to provide me a detailed explanation with regards to the work which was going to be performed and was able to provide me with a reasonable delivery date. Due to our complicated work schedule, we weren't able to pick up the bike until pretty much closing time. Upon arriving, we were greeted in a positive manner and never felt rushed. i noticed my back tire was down to the metal, i looked around fora shop near me and found Five Star Motorcycles and noticed they open up early, i gave them a call and they said the have the tires i need in stock, so took it over and the said it would be done in about 2 hours. i called about an hour and 45min later and it was ready to go. I went down on my bike 2 months ago and didnt know where to go to get my bike fixed.I asked around and a lot of people were recommending Five Star Motorcycles. They told me to ask for Tony. So when i called i explained my situation to him and I immediately felt relieved, he had my bike towed to his shop were he was able to determine the problems. He then gave me a estimate for the services my bike needed , with a complete breakdown of parts and labor. (estimate was fair). When I did a search to find the website for these guys, I was surprised to discover a one-star rating floating on top of reviews for them (even though it looks legit, if out of character). I originally went to Five Star after I first bought my used V-Strom (in 2012), and even though they only changed my oil, they struck me right away as a first-class operation. It was clean, and they were up-front about everything and happy to discuss my options (went with Synthetic Motul 300V). Undeterred, I brought my bike back for a full-service tune-up: Valve adjustment, new plugs, radiator fluid, air filter service, chain adjust, plus some additional adjustments. Picked the bike up today. It's like a new bike. Runs better, idles smoother, and it's tightened up to the last detail. I asked if he could show me the clearances for the the valves that needed adjustment. I was asking after-the-fact, so I'm lucky they had this info at all, but what surprised me even more was that every service item for my bike had been recorded on a totally handwritten couple of pages. It included the valve clearances, showing what the specified range was and what the recorded specs were. It also included info on stuff I didn't even ask about, like cylinder compression and system charge. And he showed me a bunch of photos of my bike taken apart, showing the K&N filter (installed by previous owner) etc. that he then e-mailed to me. They had no way of knowing I'd planned to write a review for them (I never told anybody) but I was truly impressed by their service. To me, a five-star review is not just getting the basics right, but going way beyond what's expected. For me, it's a rare experience, and always a pleasant surprise. YOU NEED TO READ THIS! I circumnavigated the USA on my motorcycle! My first stop was 5 STAR Motorcycles for a full overhaul and service before my 19,000 mile trip (4 months). The reason I chose 5 STAR was I had just arrived in LA. I called around to everyone (Monday), 5 STAR were the only motorcycle shop open and I'm so glad they were because their service is second to none! I'm going to say this straight up! NOT ONE THING 5 STAR Motorcycle replaced and serviced falter during my 19,000 miles. Everything ran so smoothly!!! Pablo is one of the most fair, honest and generous guys I've ever met. When my throttle cable frayed and jammed in the interstate around Texas. I called Pablo at 5 STAR, he was happy to give me advice and help to find the part needed and send it out! Not only did Pablo do a great job, he also gave me some great advice about my bike and what to watch for on the trip! When I picked up my bike at 5 STAR Pablo polished all the chrome. Pablo cares about his business and most definitely his customers. IT GETS BETTER! When I arrived back in LA after my trip, I had to get my bike over to Australia, there were issues with customs and I had to wait to get clearance to ship it over. Pablo and I worked out a price and he was gracious enough to look after it till I could get the clearance documentation and ship my bike home. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. You would think this place is packed out full of customers waiting to get their bike service. But no!! You have lazy individuals who hang around behind the counters coming up with ridiculous quotes. That have you feeling ripped off. After paying to get a diagnostics they have the nerve to leave your bike undone and unbolted when you decide to take your bike to a different bike shop??? What kind of childish ish is that!. They claim to be best in the business. But they are most unprofessional in the business. FYI Don't take your frustrations on hard working customers that can see right through you trying to rip customers off. If your going to charge customers with ridiculous quotes at least fix the bike correctly!! And not leave the bike undone. I wouldn't recommend this so called bike shop on my worst enemy. Very bad experience @ this repair shop - I spoke to the owner Pablo about bringing my motorcycle to his shop for repair in which he stated that they were very familiar with my bike and it's current issues. I drove my bike over, he was there to take it in and told me he would be in touch in a few days - days turned into weeks before he contacted me to apologyze for his neglect - He informed me of the problems with my bike and quoted me a price - I thought the price was VERY expensive, but I just wanted my bike fixed - HE said it would be ready in a few days - Days turned into weeks - I finally drove over in person because he was not returning my calls - When I arrived there he blamed everything on the counter/salesman - NOT A GOOD FIRST EXPERIENCE - I WILL NEVER RETURN AND ADVISE YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE! !!! read more

went in for a tire and not only got the tires i wanted at a low price but also gave me a chain lube, adjustment cable lube, inspection, and bikewash all for less than the normal tire cost of the other guys (delamo) not to mention they have a a graffix guy in the same location to hook up some custom stuff. highly recommended. read more

Took my 2006 R1 here for the first time a couple weeks ago. Was hesitant about changing mechanics. I came to Tony for a full service. My bike was scratched up from going down in canyons and crashing into a taxi. I needed a complete makeover. Tony mentioned he knew a painter that can give me good price. Long story short, got a full paint job (including wheels), On-Point Race Rail and Sub Cage, new grips, mirror block off plates, side mirrors, full service, re-upholstered my front and rear seats, the whole nine-yards and cleaned everything up. They made sure that I was good at all cost. Reliable, friendly, and have a great crew of mechanics in the back. Found this shop on yelp August of 2014. Definitely glad I found this place! I bought my first bike used and they gave me great advise. Right off the bat, I trusted them. Very straight forward and to the point. I love it. When I was in an accident, they really helped me out with my bike and were very flexible when the insurance company was taking forever. Never once did I feel like I was inconvenient to them. I really appreciated that because I honestly felt bad that it was there for over a month. In addition, they are very personable people. I was at work when my girl went into labor and rode my bike to the hospital where she was at. When we were leaving, my bike wouldn't turn on. Tony and Pablo took great care of me and picked my bike up so I can be with my new family. I can always call and get a hold of them if needed. Never had a problem with their services. I got my motorcycle stolen and when it was found I took it had the ignition hot wired, the left mirror broken, the gas tank lock busted and the switches messed up. The insurance paid me out and I had Five Star Motorcycles repair it. It took a couple days to get the parts in from Yamaha but only 1 day to get them installed. With the money i got from the insurance co. i was able to get the bike fixed and still had a few bucks left over to get the rear tire changed. I left the shop and it's been purring ever since. I will continue to go there as i have before. They take extremely good care of me every time i'm in the shop and even help me with some of the things i didn't think about. Just a small update on life since ive been owned for a year. Ive gone under much change. First i came up with a major sensor issue that forced me to tear apart the engine. Which led me too 5star motorcycles in cerritos. Pablo (publicity) tony (shooter) jose (hoser) effrin (elf) are amazing. The dealer wanted to charge me 2k$ no lie to fix my sensor issue. Pablos team and tonys explainations and price $500 as compared to dealer. Got me back rolling in a few days and add onto that they installed my galfer stainless steel front brake lines. Installed a new parts unlimited 230 x ring chain and changed the stator to a ricks motorsports. Much change much money. But the moto is like brand new thanks to them. Hmmm this seems more like advertising than updating on my progress on the moto. Next in line is a valve adjustment. And still in the air about switching to repsol fairings. Came in to the shop on the one day it has rained in LA for months. I was met by Pablo who told me the history of his shop and I explained my Kawasaki Vulcan was leaving me stranded when it wouldn't restart after having started easily. We both agreed it sounded like a carburation problem, probably the bike was flooding and running too rich. I agreed to their 2 hour minimum labor policy which applies to your work if they do the job. I was going out of town so I didn't need the bike right away. A few days later Pablo called me and explained he found a different problem, a bad ECU unit and he had found one on E Bay saving me $$. He also advised on a couple of other problems the bike had, and in the end fixed a couple of additional things. I needed a new motorcycle repair shop since Larry G. moved to Tennessee. I had no idea Pablo opened up his own shop in Cerritos, I used to take all my bikes to him years ago. I always remember him doing an excellent job of repairing my bikes. I took my sons 2008 Honda crf 250 that would not start easily. The mechanic did a thorough job and found out the o rings in the carburetor were shot and not letting fuel in. He also did the modification on the compression screw and grinded .08 off the screw. It starts up a lot easier. My son does not want to sell it now. I was so satisfied with the work I also bought a new Dunlop GX-32 back tire. I am thankful Pablo has his own shop and I can truly trust his work. Tony was also very helpful too. read more

Hey Everyone, I forgot to add a review for when I had my motorcycle repaired at Five Star Motorcycles shop back in March. I am a female rider who came to this shop based on previous reveiws that I had read....and it was worth it and the ride (came on a Saturday). I came from Huntington Beach. I Met some cool people there as well. I thought that I came far, but one of the guys drove from San Diego, he stated that he also read the reviews and that was why he had came also. The staff is friendly, the prices are great. I will definitely be going back for repairs. I didn't feel as if they were trying to take advantage and charge ridiculous prices. I would highly recommend checking out their shop. They even give you free coffee and donuts. You can watch them do the repair on your bike, watch tv or hang out in the parking lot.
