First, the phone # I used was 508-981-2230 My 80 gallon electric water heater was ready to go...dripping...I had a NE Water heater rental unit. The options were sign a new contract (5yr locked in @$25 a month w/ 100% fee for exiting + cost of unit) or install my own. I called around and the price from Five Star was THE best. They were very good about getting here ASAP w/ no added premium. They offered removal of the old unit, which others refused to do (heavy stone unit 300lbs). Five star removed the old unit, installed, re-plumbed and added a new ball shut off valve in 1.5 hrs...That's faster than it took one of the other companies to return an over the phone estimate! Very pleased. Here's hoping the Water Heater is of as good a quality as the service i received. read more

Came back from vacation after the infamous bomb cyclone that annihilated Massachusetts. Anyway, the pipes in my house burst and these guys came right away. I don't know much about plumbing but they seemed very knowledgeable and showed me where the leaks were and proceeded to replace all the broken pipes in a timely fashion. Plumbers are generally expensive but i feel with the amount of work and expertise these guys put in, my family got a bargain. Would recommend for any plumbing needs. Five stars for five star! Water heater died on me and needed a new one in a hurry. Called a couple of people and Five Star's price was right on target, a tad lower than everyone else. What really impressed me was he rushed right out to replace it, even though it was a holiday - and didn't charge me extra. Did a great job, at a great price - and he was just a nice guy. Had this company come out to bid on an oil-to-gas heating conversion project for a house I'd recently purchased. They sent Ed D. out to take a look and he seemed knowledgable and friendly enough. Where this fell apart was after that point. Ed promised to get back to me with a bid within a week. After two weeks went by I called the office and inquired about status. They told me they would get back to me by the end of the day. No call. Three days later I called again, same story and no call back. I have no problem with someone not wanting to bid a job, but at least be professional about it and let the customer know either way. FiveStar? Nope, more like OneStar. read more

Had a lot of water damage from a leak in my dishwasher. When I finally had the tile in my kitchen replaced, I was told the day they came that I needed to have a plumber disconnect my gas stove, my refrigerator ice maker and my bathroom toilet....that day! I could not get anyone to come out. After 6 calls to plumbers who either said they were too busy or just never called me back, I got in touch with Ed who agreed to come to my home on short notice. Not only did he do the job that day, he came back on Xmas eve to reinstall everything as well as a disposal and new kitchen faucet. Thanks to Ed and his team, my kitchen was back to normal for Xmas. Five Stars, really? Requested a shower diverter valve fix. First thing out of their mouth was "need to cut a hole in the wall"! Seriously, the valve cartridge is replaceable - no hole necessary. Sent him packing. read more

My 17 year old oil fed, forced hot air furnace would not ignite the fuel. Of course this happend during an intense cold snap this winter. I called Five Star Solutions late in the evening to come and see what they could do. I described the problem and the items I checked during my troublshooting efforts. They scheduled a 7:30am apointment. They were on time, they diagnosed the problem (bad fuel pump), had the part on the truck and installed it quickly. I cannot say enough about Ed and Five Star Solutions. We have used Five Star two times in the last year, once for our furnace and once for our air conditioning. Both times Ed was professional, courteous, and on-time. When our furnace went out in the winter it was an emergency, and even being first time customers he came immediately. My hot water heater went on a Saturday night. On Sunday evening I sent out a few requests for estimates to replace both the hot water heater and the ancient boiler (30+ years old). I didn't expect to hear back from anyone on a Sunday night, but Ed responded to my message within a few hours and was able to set up an appointment with me for the next morning. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns. I decided to move forward with his proposal on Tuesday night, and he was able to come to the house the next day to replace the hot water heater. The boiler was fully installed and functional by Thursday afternoon, and he handled the inspection on Friday, so that I wouldn't have to stay home another day.
