The damage from the hit and run.

I 100% recommend Fix Auto Folsom. From start to finish, these guys were outstanding. Our car was hit while parked on the streets in San Francisco. I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that. I filed a claim with our insurance since this was a hit and run and the jerk that hit our car did not leave a note. So, I looked for an insurance approved local repair shop in San Francisco and Fix Auto Folsom popped up. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate. They called to confirm. I dropped our poor and sad damaged car off and Josh was fabulous. Everyone at the shop was fabulous. They were upfront about the process and how they would handle all the communication and paperwork with our insurance company and gave me a drop off date that was perfect for our schedule. The car was ready on the day promised. They even washed and gave it a light detailing!!!! I honestly could not be happier. I'm giving these guys a 10 out of 10, and I also hope I don't have to ever see them again, ha ha ha ha. But, seriously, if I do have a car issue, I'm taking our car here.

About a week ago at 7am, I discovered a note on my car that was placed under the wipers. It read, "I'm sorry I hit your car. Please call my mom". I was parked on the street. The damage to the back bumper was significant. It was drivable so I thought I would call "mom" while driving to work. She apologized profusely for her 18 year old son who was visiting his girlfriend around the corner the night before. He was parked behind me and thought he was in reverse when he was trying to pull away from the curb. He was obviously in drive and smashed the hell out of my car. I used her insurance to get my car fixed as she accepted the liability for her son. I was referred to Fix Auto by her insurance for repairs. (over 2k!) This was a well run, efficient and very clean body shop. The process was very quick and they provided a shuttle to the car rental place. I was even able to drop the rental off right at the body shop when I picked up my car. I was originally promised a two day time frame to get the work done but that extended to three days when they accidentally had the parts shipped to a different body shop. They updated me frequently via text and also called a few times and left voice messages. Their work was very thorough. We did at least three walk-arounds and listed all of the work that needed to be done. They even hammered out my license plate which was bent. I felt good here--they are an honest business.

Perfect. When washed and vacuumed, my 12 year-old car looks brand new. Thanks Matt's Auto Body!

#136/2016 Seamless. From first phone call to driving my car home, the process was smooth as silk. Estimate was done quickly, all insurance paperwork handled by them and booking an appointment was convenient to my schedule. And, my car was finished early and looks brand new, fully detailed as well. Matt's Auto Body is a USAA certified repair shop which is a big deal: USAA is the nation's largest private insurance company and their standards are extremely high. I believe there's only one other shop in the city that's USAA authorized for auto body work. Matt's Auto Body is immaculate and judging from the number of high-end and vintage cars (including an impeccable late 70s-era Mercedes coupe, a Rolls Royce and many BMWs and Mercedes), they have picky customers who can afford the best and come here. That said, there were many makes and models, not just luxury cars. I saw plenty of Toyota's, Honda's, Hyundai's and Subaru's. If USAA sends their customers here, you can trust Matt's Auto Body isn't going to gouge you. Absolute highest recommendation: AAAA

I went with a Toyota Corolla, which I drive personally. I like to stick with something I'm used to. It was about $250 for four days. I arrived right on schedule and the car was waiting for me. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. He walked me through everything I needed to know, even the details on tolls and stuff. The car was about two blocks from their office, but they explained how to get to it and even had a print out of a map to help get me there. It also had pictures so there was no way I was going to miss it. The car was a 2021 and in great condition and had a full tank of gas. Another positive of getting a Toyota is the gas mileage. I went to Sonora and back (roughly 275 miles) and I only had to refill once before I dropped it off... which was also super easy. I simply dropped it off where I picked it up and handed the valet the key. I would totally rent from here again if I find myself in the heart of San Francisco and in need of a ride for a few days.

Customer service was super clear and nice, got all the paperwork done when I arrived, and gave clear directions for pick up and drop off. Cars are located at a garage two blocks up from the office, so adjust accordingly if in a rush or carrying a lot of luggage. Drop off is super easy, just leave the keys with the parking attendant and you're done! My only small issue is that as a small local company, you might be in a bit of a bind if you need service or have an accident after hours and far out of the city.

The lady who processed the vehicle upon return was also incredibly standoffish, and claimed we might get charged an extra cleaning fee for the gravel on the floor mat ??? They also took my $200 deposit, so I was already out a lot of money before I even realized what they did. When I went back in to talk to them, they admitted they made a huge mistake. They said they would credit me back over $300, plus give me a $50 credit for the trouble. They even told me the crazy gas charge -- $180 for gas -- was way too high and they would fix it. After all that, guess what? They only credited me $51. That's it. After promising me hundreds back. Then I called customer service hoping someone would fix it, and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. Didn't help, didn't care, nothing. Sixt is honestly one of the worst places I've ever rented from. I would tell anyone: RUN. Find ANY other rental company besides them. And to make things worse, when I first went there, the employees were trying to do shady stuff. They literally told my husband before that if he gave them an extra $50 on the side, they'd "hook him up" with a better car. That's fraud. That's the type of people they have working in there. This whole thing was a horrible experience. Waiting days for my money back, getting lied to, overcharged, and treated badly by customer service. Sixt is not honest, not professional, and not worth the headache. As soon as you see that orange Sixt sign, RUN in the other direction.

To our pleasant surprise, the agent behind the counter said they had one ready. She was super friendly and helpful. Paperwork and payment were wrapped up in about 5-7 minutes, and we headed up to the 3rd level garage where another rep showed us to our car. That's where the one hiccup happened that cost this review a star. The rep handed us an exit ticket, but when we pulled up to the gate, the machine tried to charge us $190 to leave. My girlfriend darted back to the office while I sprinted upstairs with the ticket, all while a growing line of cars stacked up behind us giving me the death stare of "what the eff are you doing walking away from your car?". Running upstairs, I made the decision to use the stairs because waiting for the elevator was like watching grass grow. The agent upstairs quickly ran the ticket through the validation machine, clearing the charge. Silently in my head I said "dude ever thought of clearing the charge before giving a customer the ticket?". But I was just grateful that he cleared it and ran back downstairs all the while thinking, well at least I'm getting my cardio in for the day. Aside from that stressful detour which I chalked up to another travel adventure story that I can embellish in my older years, the car itself drove beautifully, and the return process at a nearby location just a couple blocks away was a breeze . Directions for return were clearly printed in the paperwork. I've rented from Enterprise many times before and generally had excellent experiences. This one had a minor glitch, but overall, i would definitely rent from them again. Happy travels!

When we politely asked the manager, Ishmael Turner, for an estimated wait time, he became hostile, told us we were "making it worse," and ordered us to leave the area. When I asked for his name, he first dismissed me, then after | asked again, he handed me a business card with someone else's name. I only got his real name from another staff member. While waiting, I witnessed another customer, an Asian woman, who had been there even longer, call someone to let them know she was not going to make it to the funeral because of the delay. When she asked Ishmael for his name, he refused and she took his photo, he then blocked her rental car so she couldn't leave and eventually called the police on her. When I tried to help her since she was crying, he told me to leave and threatened me with the same treatment if I didn't. This experience was chaotic, unprofessional, and honestly disturbing. If you speak up after a long wait, expect to be treated even worse. The whole process was disorganized from start to finish. I rarely leave reviews, but this felt important. Rent here only if you're okay with long delays, poor service, and being treated disrespectfully.
