First, the installer brought a contractor grade model garbage disposal, NOT the upgraded model agreed upon with owner/manager the night before on the phone. Installer told us the one they were going to install had a 10 year warranty, it did not, as stated CLEARLY in the install documents. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After insisting on a call to manager, who, at first, also said the contractor grade model they brought, had a 10 yr. W, but called back and confirmed that it did not.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The installer did come back, with something much closer to the model requested, that DOES have a 10yr W. Pipes were cleaned out (grease) and disposal installed. As the installer was ready to leave, decided to do a quick check under the sink. It was LEAKING. Badly enough to run all over the inside of the cabinet and out onto the floor, soaking a thick floor mat. (Will black mold grow under the dishwasher now, which is brand new, don't know.). Was requested not to use the disposal until he could locate a part he said was needed, which did not occur until the following week. His other assigned task was to check out all the sinks for proper drainage. All good, he found and cleared ONE sink drain in an upstairs, rarely used bathroom sink, in addition to the kitchen drains. Less than a week later, went to look for something under the only other sink drain 'he cleared', and lo and behold, ANOTHER leak, everything soaked, some minor 'losses' and we resorted to the old pan under the sink solution. (There had never EVER been any kind of a leak or water damage under that sink, and the fiberboard is ruined!). When 'the Fix It plumber came out, a different one, he insisted the leak was unrelated to anything the plumber may have done, (don't believe that is true) and would require new parts to change out the part that was leaking, all to be a NEW charge. At this point, we told him that we couldn't do any more business with this company and terminated a monthly service fee, that included priority service and a discount on the work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Expected a formal receipt, at the time the disposal installed, naming the extra part needed, the disposal name and model/number, what the discount was, along with the USERS MANUAL[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Great estimate on repiping job. The price was right the timeline was okay. Unfortunately the 4 days to replace the pipes ran to over 10 days. The material originally purchased was a cheaper grade of copper than originally agreed on by contract. The owner was responsive to my calls to complete the job after a week. However the job was more than his company expected. I had to ask for his team to come touch up a poor patch area. There were 2 sheets of drywall left in the yard and didn't dispose of their popcorn spray cans. After all was done the pipes are complete and everything works. I called Juan late afternoon about an odor coming from my bathroom sinks and some tiny black flies, which from what I have read is not a good sign. His son Gabe came out early in the morning with his team member, took a look at my concerns and checked under the house as well. Thankfully there was nothing to worry about. Gabe was incredibly nice, did not rush and took time to talk to me about what might be causing the smell and the flies. When I had asked what the cost is for them coming out, they did not even charge me, normally and understandably they charge because it takes from their time to drive and look. We found Fix-It Plumbing via Home Advisors. My husband made an appointment for 5pm. I called at 11am the day of the appointment asking if they can come at 4pm, but if they couldn't we could still meet at 5. I did not speak to anyone but left a voicemail. FixIT voicemail said they return all calls within 10 minutes. We received NO response for Fix-It so we assumed that the appointment at 5 still stood. At 4pm, my husband finally received a call back from FixIt saying that they would not be able to make a 4pm appt per my request...oh and by the way they were not going to make the original 5pm appointment either. They tried to make is sound like since I requested the change to an hour earlier, that forced then to not make both appointments! I'm not the kind of person that likes to write reviews, but based on the work that Juan and his crew did, I just had to. About a week and half ago my wife and I noticed water and bubbles next to the shut off valve close to our house. Deciding to dig, I took a small shovel and exposed the pipe. The galvanized steel pipe that was installed there was corroding and literally about to give. Gave several plumbers a call and got a few quotes. Out of all of them, Fix It Plumbing was the most reasonable. On top of this, Juan promised he would not have to tear up my driveway to get a new pipe in place which all the other contractors I had quotes from told me they had to do, adding more cost to an already costly endeavor. Juan was friendly and professional and was happy to answer any question. So we hired him and his crew for the job. They arrived on Saturday morning on time and after putting some finishing touches on our contract, they began to dig. Juan had promised that by the end of the day our new pipe would be in place and providing clean water. Based on the amount of work his crew had completed within 4 hours I didn't believe him, but low and behold, by 5 PM he had already dug up the trench under the driveway and him and his crew were already in the process of laying the pipe. By 7 PM, he was already completely done and we had running water within 3 hours of the time he shut it off which was around 4PM. Since we wanted the new pipe to be inspected by the city and certified, he had to leave our new pipe exposed for a week, but it's not like you can get the city to do any of its work on time anyhow. This past Saturday the inspector from the city of San Jose came by looked at the work and could not believe how Juan and his crew were able to dig under the drive way and get the piping from the street all the way to my house done. He certified the work and after that within an hour, Juan and his crew completed the job without a hitch and saving my family and I what could have possibly been one of the most expensive out of pocket jobs I've had to pay for. My sewer pipe clogged last week while I was washing my clothes. Luckily, we were home at the times. We first called another plumbing company via Yelp and they tried to "snake" the clogged pipe with no success. They suggested us to re-pipe our sewer pipe and add "clean out" since our house did not have any at the times. Their price seemed a bit high but the worst part was they said that they need to dig up our front yard to do the job. They estimate the job will take 4-5 days. I decided to call a few more plumbing companies and Juan of Fix it plumbing replied quickly (he's the 2nd one who called us back) via my Yelp and Homeadvisor search. Juan also promised that he can come by same morning to give us a quote and he mentioned that they use "trenchless method" for re-piping so they don't need to dig out our front yard!? We did not know about this method at the time. Juan came within one hour of our call and they explained in details what need to be done (only 3 days needed) and also promised us that they should able to "temp fix" our pipe so we can use the bathrooms at the end of day. We agreed and they proceeded to start digging just two holes in our front yard (one near side wall and one near our house) & prep the area for re-piping on next day. His team member, Marco, came by next day and installed the new sewer pipes using this "trenchless method". The whole process took about 2/3 day and they also cleaned up our area nicely before leaving. Finally, Juan personally came back during the inspection day (and yes, he went to city to pull permit for the job for us) and went thru the inspection with the inspector (answering his question and showing him the inside of the new pipe using video camera). And, they then finished the job by filling the exposed holes and installed the clean outs so our sewer pipe and clean outs are now up to current code. I needed a short pipe replaced in an easy-access area. It was a 2-hour job requiring nothing but two plastic to metal couplings, two cuts to the pipe and the insertion of a new piece. I guess I made a mistake by telling him I had a 20-unit building. When he texted me back with a bid he told me it would cost $1850--and that is during the week and normal business hours. I am sick to death of being overcharged by people who think I have money. One more plumber who tries to take advantage of customers. Maybe if you seem poor he gives a decent price, but the blatant price gauge for me was very upsetting. My handyman took care of it for his usual hourly rate. I was truly horrified by this bid. FIX IT PLUMBING is reasonably priced and did a great job on the pipe replacement!!! They re-patched all the open holes and fixed area's that they did not even add to the quote. They fixed out water spout in the backyard because it was all junky and taped up so replaced it with copper piping, fixed the flow on the toilets because they were running too long and wasting water, added a water pan in the water heater. They even dry walled the area around the repipe they did in the garage for the Washing machine (it was originally just an open space by the pipe). This was all included in the already reasonably priced quote. They were so careful not to mess up any tiling in the bathrooms and they even put down drop cloths throughout the house to make sure there were no tracks of mess in the house! They really cared about the work they do. This is a totally honest company! We are so happy with work they did and are so glad we chose Fix It Plumbing to do the repairs we needed!! They gave us solutions based on our budget (which i find extremely rare among plumbers!) and after a great estimate, we opted for repiping our home. Juan asked when I wanted to start and started right away. The copper repipe and main drain replacement was supposed to take two days. Fix it plumbing was a referral from a very close friend of mine, she spoke very highly of Juan, so I called him he came out and helped at one of my rentals with my water heater. All was great! I then had an issue with another rentals plumbing under kitchen sink two days before Christmas, and my tenants were having guests over for the Holiday. I called Juan up he said no problem he will gladly go over and check things out the following day. Well the following day came and no show, no call. I called left a message, he called back and said he couldn't make it out that day, but the following day he will be there I said no problem I just need it repaired, he said "you got it, rest assured I'll take care of it". Long story short Christmas came and I was on the phone trying to find a plumber that wasn't asking for an arm and a leg to get out there on Christmas Eve. Now almost a year later needed a plumber again my friend said give him another call he's great, I thought ok it was the holidays, things happen. So I called left message he texted me right away "can u please text me" so I texted him with my issue he said "out of town", not available until Tuesday, I texted back ok can we schedule something for Tuesday, and I never got a reply from him. Such a shame because he came across as honest and professional the one time he came out, just the type of person you'd want to do business with. I had a clogged sewer line and explained the whole thing to Juan. He said they could come out the next morning. They came out but only put a camera down the line to show me the offsets in the pipes. He tried to sell me a trenchless sewer line. I told him I called him to unclog the line. He said they don't really do little residential things anymore because it's too much trouble. He said maybe the clog is near the street. I called the county. The field inspector came out and said no clog near the street. He helped troubleshoot the clog and said it was near my second clean out. I called a plumber he gave me the number for who came out and snaked the line in only a few minutes.
