My parents were having issues with their Thermador Stove and I gave Yevhen a call. His "service fee" was noticeably lower than his competition, so I gave him a try. Yevhen came over during the timeframe he promised and got straight to work. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a Thermador key to open up the stove, but he did fiddle with the knobs and showed us how to get it working. He explained that the components are still working and it probably doesn't make sense for us to replace anything at this point. The ignitor works, but doesn't "strike" at the "light" section. It's not that big deal and probably isn't worth getting it fix as he suggested. Yevhen was fair about his service charge and charged us less than what we agreed on. On 3/28 I was left hanging for over an hour by another appliance repair technician that was highly rated on yelp. Disappointed, I went back to Yelp to find another technician that was (hopefully) available same day. Yelp created a project for my "oven repair" and Yevhen was one of the first to ask me what my issue was, and to send photos. After sending a few photos and discussing my issue, he told me he could be available (same day) to come check on our appliance. I thought, "perfect!" He said the charge was $49 that would be applied toward repair if he could fix it. He arrived during the time frame he gave and quickly evaluated the issue. Unfortunately, there was a very small (localized) electrical fire from an accidental spill, and caused the oven to short. Our oven is part of the counter and located directly below the stove, so he had to remove the oven completely to inspect it. You could see where the short happened and how the oven was affected once he removed it from is place in the wall. He walked me through how to turn off my breaker, where the issues were with the electrical board, and how he could fix it. It would definitely require a new part and that there were 2 steps it could take in order to fully fix it. The 2nd step was just in case the oven didn't work once the new part was installed. I felt he was extremely detailed and thorough as he explained everything that could possibly be a factor. It made me feel comfortable and that he was being straight up and honest about the process. He took a few minutes to jump on his phone and as soon as he found the part, he showed me the cost of it, and then wrote up an estimate. It was way more affordable than having to replace my oven (our model is discontinued & a new model is $1100), which was great although, the part wouldn't be available until 4/2. This was fine because we didn't plan on using the oven and could get by with the stove and other appliances we have in our house for cooking. He contacted me 4/1 to let me know he had the part and that he could come over between 10-11 on 4/2. I was working, and wouldn't able to stay home the entire morning, so he was polite enough to call me when he was 10 mins away. As soon as we hung up, I sped home and he was waiting for me. He got to work on the oven right away and was done within 15 mins or so. He turned on the breaker, and the oven started making noise. Then the time populated and I knew we were golden. He tested it to make sure it heated up, which it did. However I didn't have time to fully test it. I paid him and he left. I planned to test it when I got home from work. I made a loaf of pumpkin bread and voila, it worked perfectly. I'd highly recommend Fix Kot to anyone who needs their appliances fixed. Quick, honest, and efficient service. Guy came out, spent 5 minutes looking, said we needed a new water filter and that would fix it. Told us which filter to order and gave us a picture of it. We ordered it and it came that day. Didn't fix it. Charged us $78 service call. We called to say it didn't fix it. He kept saying we ordered the wrong filter even though it was the exact one he told us to order. Said if he had to come back out it was another service call charge of $78 to do so. Don't waste your money or time on these folks. read more
