Actually while our car went through the automatic system, we noticed the machine was stopped in the middle of the process and a guy came out did some check up and he went back into the room started the system again. Like many carwashes, this place started out strong, but the service has already gone down hill. While I love that this is a full service car wash that will vacum and clean your car inside and out, the execution isn't always great and can result in more work for you. I was there yesterday for the full flagship service. For my car, this includes washing the weathertec mats, etc. The mats weren't shaken off before they were put back in the car, so they were literally swimming in water, which i didn't initially realize when I got back in the car. The pooling water on the drivers side made the bottom of my shoes so wet they kept slipping off the gas and break pedals. I had put my laptop bag behind the drivers seat and the bottom was soaked through. Such a bummer. An additional problem was the cleaning of the inside front and back windows. they were so streaked it was hard to see - especially with sun glare. I had to immediately pull into the nearby BP gas station to get paper towels to mop up the water and to try to clean the windows. I'll have the go after the windows with windex again this morning. I'll say that the new Flagship in Ashburn is the place to go but since I was in McLean and this is now under Flagship ownership, I decided to not make the drive out to Ashburn...mistake...The people are friendly enough but at the end of the day your car isn't clean and dried properly. I was watching the women dry my car and they put no effort into it. Take their towels and do a light swipe...leave water and soap all over my back trunk area. I'm not happy about Embassy, and other long term car washes being all bought up by Flagship. Few independent places remain now. Their prices are higher, although you can get monthly plans, if you're obsessed about a pretty car. I'm a once every three months or so type. Am happy that Flagship kept folks, gainfully employed as they took over. That is a positive. Nice people working here. It can get busy at times. Yet they are certainly efficient. The waiting area allows you to wash your ride go through the automated part. For the most part the inside and outside part of your vehicle will be vastly improved. The wipe-down was sloppy, leaving visible water spots, and my windows still had streaks and smudges. The vacuuming was poorly done as well. There's no designated waiting area, so you're left standing outside, watching your car go through the wash--which doesn't feel like a comfortable, proper waiting space. Pricey and terrible service. My car also was behind a car that got stuck in the car wash and my car bumped into it. They didn't acknowledge it and my car has been having technical/camera issues since. Not sure if cause of the bump or them messing with the system by touching the controls in the car. Those folks gave you a wonderful wash at about half what Flagship charges. 2) out of 3 flagship car washes I've been to (Manassas, Vienna, and McLean) this one is the ABSOLUTE WORST! You name it, they missed the mark. Car came out with soap still on the rear end. Glass was missed on part of the inside of the car. When spraying gloss on the tires, they managed to spray the stuff on the clean car and did not bother to wipe it off. The vacuum job was haphazardly done. I might have let one or two things slide but when paying top dollar for their premium wash....this was not a premium effort. I've been to this car was a couple times when I simply don't have time to wash my car myself. 15 minutes and I was in and out on a busy Sunday afternoon. That's what this place is good for - a quick car wash. Quick, not quality. On my last trip I actually saw an older gentleman cleaning his own wheels after they said his car was complete. I had to do the same. On the same trip, an older lady ended up wiping down her car. Both of their wheels were shiny, so I know they paid at least $20. I paid $20 for my "Deluxe" car wash and will probably end up spending another 45-60 minutes finishing the job. Update: I visited on a sunny Saturday in July 2018. I could have written my previous review again. Nothing has changed. This place is awful. I see no measurable difference between the $14, $17, and $20 car washes. If you're going to go, pay the $14 and don't waste any more money. read more
