The first time I went there a few months ago, the triple berry pie was fantastic. Then, I bought two of them about 6-8 weeks ago and both of them had a funny taste. They tasted like the berries had been picked very prematurely. On the other hand, I noticed someone posted some pics of a pie with extreme mold about the time I bought my last two tri-Berry pies, so maybe I was actually tasting mold, heaven forbid. These little pies are seriously amazing. We bought the cookie dough pie, key lime pie, and banana cream pie. Each one was great in its own way, and also not too sweet. It took us 3 days to eat all 3, and they stayed good for that long. I don't usually like key lime pie, but I loved this one. The filling is creamy and perfectly tangy, and you don't get that gross fake lime taste. The cookie dough pie was a big hard to cut, but it was so good and had the perfect amount of chocolate chips in it. I'll definitely drive the 30 minutes to pick up more again! read more

Flake is yummy mini pies, that can be delivered. I got a box of 3 mini pies from their shop in South Jordan. We got Raspberry Fields Forever, Peanut Butter Is My Jam and Apple Of My Pie. My favorite was the raspberry! It was so so so good! It has like a raspberry jam on top and a whip/cream under. It was light, sweet and refreshing. It wasn't heavy and you could eat the whole thing and not feel bad. My husband's favorite was the peanut butter. It was a little rich for me but great flavor. The apple was also good but I feel like it needed some ice cream or something to go with it. The crumble top was delicious. I can't wait to try the other flavors! I love Flake Pie Co! The raspberry cream pie is one of my favorites!! One thing they do, is they take a one of the pies and put the whole mini pie in a shake! Best pumpkin pie shake EVER! And the raspberry cream pie shake is so creamy!!! There isn't any place to sit inside but on warmer days, the tables outside are a great way to enjoy the evening. First off, I'd like to apologize for no pictures. We've been here three times now, and each time I told myself I would take a picture, but the pies never made it that long. These little personal pies are the stuff of dreams! I am personally drawn to the fruity/citrus pies myself, so I had to get the key lime and the lemon merengue. When you eat a citrusy pie, it should let you know in no uncertain terms that it is in fact what it claims to be. I want to get smacked in the taste buds with the tartness, and boy did these two deliver. We have since tried almost everything on the menu. The peach pie was incredible, as well as the apple. My wife's favorite was the chocolate peanut butter. Talk about rich and intense! The Flakies (Poptarts) were pretty good. The crust was awesome, but the filling and frosting fell short of the high bar the personal pies set, with exception of the brown sugar cinnamon one- that was awesome. The savory pies were really good, but not what I had hoped they would be. I was hoping for a British or New Zealand style meat pie, but these were still really good! We will definitely keep coming back here. These little pies make great gifts for neighbors and friends, if they can last that long. read more

Okay, so first and foremost if you don't like uber sweet stuff you may not enjoy your experience here. I personally like sweet, but Flake makes their treats overtly sweet. Bad thing? Not at all. Some pies focus on the crust, some focus on killer fillings. Some worry about texture and flavor. Everyone baker has a method to their madness and you have to go in with an open mind and try to appreciate their craft. These guys like it sweet. It is so sweet that I won't go back because it's just not my thing, however I can appreciate the fact that the people at Flake are going head first into their style. If you like UBER sweet things, this is for you. It is good and definitely above average pie. They are just so frickin overbearingly sweet. Not bad prices. It was $25 for 3 flakies and 3 pies. The walk-in experience is a little cold. I actually didn't feel in a small bakery at all. It had no flare. It was gimmicky and too polished. It felt like a chain and I actually asked how many locations they had. When they said they had been open only 3 months I was blown away. Where was the flour in the air? Why couldn't I see yall making the pies or see the ovens? Why have a closed kitchen with a huge chalkboard? Your boxes look like a crumble knockoff. Where is your voice and your personality? Needless to say I was disappointed with the mass produced vibes your store gave off. There is nothing wrong with being clean and professional, but yall should lean into the fact yall are a startup. Enjoy the the time being new and different. Why establish a brand before you even know who you are? Just my opinion, or course. I personally like a pie with more balance between crust and fillings. Each are equally important when it comes to making a good pie. I love a pie with crust on top and bottom. Sadly, Flake has probably the most delicious pastry dough I have ever eaten and they don't capitalize on this. It is hidden underneath heaping amounts of jams, fillings, toppings, frosting, etc. I'm not kidding, it will blow your mind how good their crust is. Top frickin notch. However you only get to enjoy the true craft of their trade, the dough, if you eat it by itself after wiping off the obnoxious amount of toppings. More does not equal better. The fillings do not compliment the crust or visaversa. It's just a pile of sweet. Instead of giving a top crust, why are yall just piling crumble and dust on top? I don't want mouthfuls of strudel and crumble. GIVE US MORE CRUST. Make it thicker maybe on bottom? I don't know. I promise you that your pies will be on a different level if you find the balance between the savory and buttery flavors of the crust and the sweet toppings. You will have customers order more frequently because they won't feel overloaded and so completely fat. You end up just eating mouthfuls of pie fillings instead of eating an actual pie. Take advantage of how great your crust is, not many can say that. On a seperate note, the keylime pie was great. Beautiful custard that was wonderfully floral and tart. It was not too sweet and it was balanced. Good job. To be honest I wasn't a fan of your flakies as a whole product. The crust, once again, was crazy good. Sooooo good. But the frosting on top was thick and artifical tasting. I don't know what you use, whether homemade or not, but the frosting was not good for me and it was very overpowering. The fillings, again, were so sweet and frankly unimpressive. I'd appreciate more creativity then just jams or cinnamon. The idea of a homemade toaster treat is a wonderful idea, however homemade doesn't always mean gourmet. You could go so much further with this concept. I mean like on a whole different level, but your flavors are infuriatingly basic and kinda fake tasting. I'm not accusing you of using premade fillings or fake stuff, I'm just saying that's how it tasted to me. There is so much potential in your flakies but the execution is extremely lazy. Overall, yall have all the right pieces to make a very successful business. But in my opinion there are some glaring issues with the execution of your product and a lack of balance and love in your creations. Alot of people will love this as a novelty experience, but to create long lasting customers you have to create an experience that doesn't lose it's fun after the 1st time. Was not worth the hype. The pies were meh at best. We waited in line a while only to be dissatisfied in the end.

Drove some distance this evening to check this place out. We tried two pie shakes. One was with a raspberry flakie the other was with a peanut butter pie. Both were super disappointing. The raspberry one had hardly any raspberry and you could taste mostly pie crust in the ice cream. It had very little taste. I wonder if there was really much of any raspberry filling in the pie. The peanut butter chocolate one had a good flavor, but was just SUPER SWEET and in the shake it has way too much pie crust. As we drove away and had a few slurps with a giant straw (by the way, I loved the straw), we tossed both of our shakes without even finishing a quarter of either. Waste of money and waste of calories. We thought, "fortunately, we bought a lemon flakie that we can eat when we get home." When we got to the other side of town and broke open the lemon flakie to share, there was no lemon filling in it whatsoever. We had an empty flakie, and the only lemon taste was the frosting and bits of lemon on top. Super disappointing. Never coming back. Tossed that one too after a small bite each. A lemon pie with no lemon. Go figure! The workers were nice, but couldn't tell us much about what they really liked as most of them they hadn't tried the ones in which we had interest. read more

Really loved the decor and branding! It's very cute, and got a great location. We got three mini pies this morning. The pecan pumpkin cheesecake was really good. Flavors were great. Crust was good. The flavor of the peach was great- but the whole thing was very very wet. My guess is that it was a moisture issue from not precooking the peaches? Or else the pie was just underbaked. Or the crust wasn't prebaked? But the bottom crust and top crumble were completely wet--- the bottom crust color was very pale as well, it had the texture of raw dough, even though I'm sure it was baked. It wasn't pleasant to eat. The only crisp bit was the crimped edge- the whole rest was soggy. The apple was similar- good flavors- but very wet filling. Wet bottom and top crusts. Not pleasant to eat gummy pastry. I think they could improve those fruit pies by cooking the moisture out of the fruit before filling them. Or baking them for much longer. But the fact that two of our pies had major moisture issues and the pastry was wet- I'm not sure we will be back. read more
