Haven't been to a Flame Broiler in over 10 years, and since I had a craving for a rice bowl and I've been trying to eat healthier I decided to order delivery from this location. The food: NAE Chicken Plate comes with a shredded cabbage salad and a half of an orange, along with a sizable amount of grilled chicken and your choice of white or brown rice and steamed veggies. Mini NAE Chicken Bowl comes with your choice of rice and mixed veggies and a much smaller portion of grilled chicken compared to the plate. It's a great size for kids or for those with smaller appetites. Mini Half and Half Bowl comes with your choice of any two meats: I chose steak bulgogi and organic tofu. My Thoughts: Bowls were very basic, standard run-of-the-mill rice bowls. The meats are marinated but not sauced. Sauces are added by the customer. The Magic Sauce is essentially teriyaki sauce. Wasn't very sweet, had a saltier profile. My preference would have been to be more on the sweeter than the saltier side. I also tried the hot sauce and the jalapeño hot sauce. They were both very vinegary, not very spicy, but along with the magic sauce I thought it was just okay. I did not receive the sweet sesame dressing that I ordered on the side nor was any on my salad so unable to review. The chicken was very fatty and had a few pieces of gristle here and there, so it made it very unappetizing to eat. Used the magic sauce for additional flavor but it was just too salty for my palate. The steak bulgogi was tender and lean, not fatty at all, which I liked. It had a light marinade flavor in the meat that was noticeable and tasty. I preferred the steak over the chicken. The tofu was terrible and I normally like tofu, but this one had an odd chewiness to it that wasn't appealing. It was also very dry and flavorless. Would not get again. The steamed vegetables consisted of broccoli, carrots, and cabbage. Very very bland. No oil, butter, or seasoning. Again, tried it with some of the magic sauce but it was just too salty for my liking. The food didn't WOW me and I expected more from the sauces, but was slightly disappointed overall. I probably won't return to another Flame Broiler for another 10 years or so. read more

First, I work around the corner so I come here quite often. Today was bad. I ordered through the website before going. When I got there I looked where they usually put ordered meals, but just some boxes were there. Nothing let me know it was ready so I waited for 10 min before asking and them finding my lunch on the bottom of the rack, that I never would have found. They also had no AC when it was 100° outside so it was uncomfortable, but I was also worried if the food was OK because it was probably pretty warm in the kitchen. I took my lunch back to work. Some of the rice was under cooked and dry. Then I found the hairs. Not just one, but 2, long curly hair wrapped into the food. There's no way it was mine. So gross. I immediately threw it all away. I really enjoy this location! The staff are lovely and the food is great. The consistency is a joy, being able to look forward to a great meal. I love the flavour of the Beef Bulgoki and the chicken is always tasty. Today I tried the Spicy Korean Chicken with half Tofu. It's good!! It's also really spicy-as in my ears hurt but I couldn't stop eating. Some sour cream would go far towards tempering the heat. I stopped in with my 82 year old sister. She ordered a mini bowl with tofu, rice and d avocado. It came with onions that she can't tolerate and missing the avocado. I pointed out the mistake and the cashier/server apologized and made it right immediately. All good. Everyone makes mistakes, and they made good on it. Pretty solid food quality. I've been to a couple flame broiler locations and this one is nice each time. Service is also efficient for me every time I go. I'm not sure if it's an update but you can't do your own sauce anymore-- this isn't a problem though they just have them pre-done and you let them know how many. I personally have never sat inside here to eat but it seems clean if you wanted to dine in. I usually get half and half bowls and sometimes add avocado. The bowl is like $10 before tax. The additional avocado charge is literally $2.45 though, extremely ridiculous. read more

Cut off an elderly lady when she asked for the code to the restroom and refused to comply with a simple request of asking for a sauce that is stored in the back. I love the food of Flame Broiler. My experience was bad because they had a promotion sign in their window. It advertised a 20 oz free drink with purchase of any bowl or plate 2-5 pm weekdays and all day weekends. I ordered a mini chicken bowl at 11 am on Sunday. I was not allowed to get a free drink. I was told it was only for a regular bowl. I referred to the sign that said "any" bowl. Then I was told it was only from 2-5 pm on weekdays. I referred to the sign that said all day weekends. Had never been here before. It was early and I was craving waba but it wasn't open yet so I decided to try flame broiler instead. People kept telling me they were almost the same food. The woman working was very nice, but that is where the good ended and the just ok started. I ordered what I order from waba, the half chicken half steak veggie bowl with brown rice. The food was just ok. The meat was fatty and the veggies were really undercooked. I struggled to finish it. I went there for dinner before work and the service was friendly and fast but when I opened my plate there was hardly any beef or chicken on the plate and with the price of almost $20 for a plate with avocado added I felt cheated plus the broccoli and carrots were raw and cold. Perfect for a healthy lunch option compared to eating fast food. This is very affordable for the quality of food you're getting. Your food is made to order and you can choose from either grilled chicken or angus beef over white or brown rice, and you also have the option to add veggies. There's plenty of seating here but I wouldn't recommend it for dining with a large group during lunch hour on a weekday. But it's great for to-go orders and you can call your order ahead. Parking might be tough to find especially if you come during lunch and the best way to get out of this plaza (whichever direction you're headed) is to exit on Redlands Blvd instead of Alabama. This review is for customer service. I always feel awful for coming in right before a business closes but it sounded so good and we were on our way home. Walked in and not joking ...like 10 people walked in right after us. There were only 2 employees working. Mia was our cashier and she was going back and forth taking orders and working her butt off in the kitchen. She had a smile on her face and was so kind...and not an ounce of sarcasm and frustration at how busy they got. It's such a hard time for workers right now that we all need to be patient and kind back to them.
