I have ordered this place a few times on doordash and this was my first experience visiting in person. I really enjoy how easy it is to navigate the menu and the food is really good! It all tastes fresh and is extremely simple. The server was helpful in explaining how the menu and customization works. In my visit here, the restaurant was empty. I am not sure if I went at the wrong time of day or the location of this specific restaurant is not quite optimal for business. Although simpler usually means better, I would say that is what hurts this restaurant the most. You choose your protein, which there are several options but bases are minimal and add ons (which there are not many) are an additional charge. If you choose to not add anything on, you simply get a few steamed veggies in your bowl plus your protein. It is not unheard of to have add ons cost an additional charge, but to add avocado was around 2 dollars which is almost the same price as getting a couple whole avocados from the store. There were also only about 2 options for your type of sauce which was buffalo or like a teriyaki sauce. If you do not like either of these sauces, then you just have to eat this without it. This place can get pricey for average food. Besides that, the food was good, is great for when you are on a diet and gets the job done. read more

My fiance and I both got food poisoning from after eating here. I was also suffering an allergen attack and I am not sure why because I'm allergic to eggs and didn't eat any eggs or see anything saying there could be egg product in the food. I'm not going back. Ps. I'm looking through the reviews and wondering how these bowls are healthy? It's not refreshing, smoky aftertaste, and my arms were started to hurt which is another thing that confused me because that means there's added sweetener or too much sugar. The sauces possibly. Ordering takeout before you arrive is the way to go. The mini bowl w chicken & brown rice is my go-to. More than enough to fill my tummy. I like you can eat outside here. I don't like the parking lot, plenty of spaces but people drive like it's a race track or bumper car without regard to cars and people. I have to pick a spot with the least chance of getting damaged while parked. I usually get refunded through the food delivery app when this occurs, but anyone who's ordering delivery from here - beware you probably won't receive what you ordered. I had heard good things about this place, so I was happy to NOT be disappointed after trying this place for the first time. My sister and her boyfriend got the half and half (chicken and angus steak) bowl with brown rice and onions, while I got the chicken bowl with white rice. I think the mini size would've been perfect for me, but I got the regular sized bowl. The portions are pretty huge! It's surprising how much meat can fit in their bowls, it's like magic. Speaking of magic, their magic sauce is literally magic. It makes the bowl that much better. Well, the bowl is delicious to begin with, but the magic sauce adds 10x more flavor. I love flame broiler but only have come to this location a couple times and both times wasn't too satisfied with it. This last time, I ordered a beef plate to share with my dad. The "salad" was just cabbage and carrots with no dressing or anything. Not sure if it was supposed to have anything on it or just be mixed into the beef and rice but it was weird. I came here a tad late on a Saturday night, and they were swamped. All the tables full, 5+ people waiting on orders, plus to go orders. They had 1 cashier, and 1 cook in the kitchen. At most places, I would not have been this patient, but the duo had such a positive attitude it was inspiring. Ordered on Postmates and there wasn't an all white meat chicken option. So i asked for all white meat In special instructions. Then was called by the worker saying they couldn't do that unless i chose the all white meat option but there was no option so i asked if i could pay extra over the phone in order to complete my order. She told me no and to cancel on postmates. When i tried to call to cancel it told me if was already on the way so i wasn't able to cancel the order. Then i looked and it was looking for a new drive. Flame broiler is usually my go to for quick meals on the run. Today was one of those days as I run Sat morning errands. Food is simple, no brainer-grilled chicken, brown rice and veggies for me. Perfect for those watching what they're eating. Never had a problem with it and it's the same for this place.. I give the food here 3.5 stars. As I liked the crispy charr on my chicken. Texture was great and yet chicken was still moist. As far as the cleanliness of the place I give it 2.5 stars. My complaint is really how sad/dirty this place was. Almost all the tables are dirty, floors looked like they haven't been mopped in a day or two. Napkins weren't picked up and the placed smelled musty. I've never been in such for a FLameB. Maybe it was that I came at 1pm after the lunch rush or maybe they pre-make everything and just put it together when you order but I ain't complaining. I really enjoy this Flame Broiler location. It is one of my go to lunch spots on weekends when I'm in the area doing errands. The food is ready in minutes, a regular bowl will fill you up plenty and the Magic sauce is just as amazing as it's name portrays. I'm a huge fan of the flame broiler! My o my has the price changed! Still with it though, they now have multiple sizes including a mini size, regular size and a plate size. For me, a regular size is quite a large lunch, enough to get me into the food, before I return to work! This particular location has plenty of parking, and is quite crowded during the lunch hour. That being said, the food comes out quite fast. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor tables could use more wiping and aligning. As for the food, they serve multiple different protein options, all of which are fresh. Their sauces, namely magic sauce which is a teriyaki soy sauce blend and its taste is quite delicious. I now see a double hot sauce which I am scared to try, but I am sure the spice crazed people will love it. If you have never been to this chain, you should try it out! read more

OMG...why have I not gone to this place sooner? My sister introduced me to this place since this is her go to up in L.A. Yay for a nearby San Diego location. The menu is like In-N-Out. Simple, straight forward, short menu. Cheap prices. $5.59/bowl and $7.25/plate. No extra charge for the brown rice either. That's a big plus for me. I guess I've lucked out. Every time I have ordered off the menu, my portions were generous and the meat is done the way its supposed to be. Moist and delicious. I give it 5 stars for serving healthy dining options other than Subway, fast service (like w/in 5 mins of ordering), and it doesn't break the bank. I'll definitely be dining here again.
