Wow, what a great surprise this place was! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a smiling hostess who went far beyond simply welcoming guests. She seemed to be everywhere at once--our water glasses never dropped below half full, dirty plates disappeared almost immediately, and she checked on us throughout every course. She is truly a great employee and made our dining experience exceptional. As for the food, we started with the flaming cheese. It was perfectly crispy, and the fresh lemon squeezed over it at the end was a fantastic touch. For my entrée, I had the lamb with ratatouille, and it was absolutely amazing--packed with flavor. The harissa served with the pita bread added a nice kick and complemented the dish perfectly. My wife ordered the shaved lamb, and it was clearly not the typical store-bought variety. It tasted house-made, and the flavor was outstanding. We finished with the baklava, which was excellent--super flaky, not overly sweet, and filled with natural honey flavors. Flames is situated in a strip mall and you would never know from the outside what they have to offer. Our first time here we were actually impressed. Great service and the food is excellent, so much flavor! Even the rice was worth mentioning! We ordered mezzes to start with, they were beautifully arranged and served with triangles of thin pita bread. The Baba Ganoush was so delicious that we ordered an extra dish. For entrees we ordered the vegan Kafta. It came with a nice salad and was such a generous serving that we all had leftovers to take home. While this is not a cheap restaurant, we thought it was worthwhile. There is no outdoor seating but ample indoor dining. read more

AMAZING!!! This was an excellent dinner. Server was hilarious and the food was spectacular. I got the Shawarma (gyro) it was excellent. I loved the food. For dessert, genuinely life changing. The pistachio ice cream had rose water or something in it. My little cousin said "Is this what heaven tastes like". It was like a meat filled football. Crunchy, cracked wheat crust , minched beef & pine nuts.it was very flavorful. I'm not sure what all the Lebanese spices are? I believe they use Zaatar & sumac . As well as coriander , cinnamon & cumin. At least that was what I was tasting. The tahini , hummus & baba ghanouj were all yummy. The baba had just a hint of heat to it. Very nice! The whole platter was Fresh and plentiful. I had the lamb burger. Came with a house salad & fries. The salad was great! Cold , fresh & the dressing was delicious. It was a lemony tangy mixture with sumac. Very nice. My lamb burger was cooked perfectly, topped with feta, pickled vegetables & tahini. It was on a pretzel roll, which I thought was odd? It made it a little hard to bite, but I managed The Hubs ordered a dish called "Ouzi" It was ground meat, rice , peas, carrots , spices & almonds wrapped in a phyllo dough. He said it was good , a lot of flavors he could pick out, but it lacked a bang . The flavors were muted because of so many of them. The best part was the dessert! ! It was called Knafeh. It was a warm crispy shredded phyllo , ricotta cheese filled little round pastry. Drizzled with orange blossom syrup. Wow! We thought that was just super! It only needed a little vanilla ice cream. My wife & I had a fabulous dinner tonight at Flames Mediterranean Grill. Service A+, atmosphere modern class , beautiful tree-like sculpture with hanging glass leaves. Authentic Lebanese middle Eastern music at the correct volume. We ordered a hummus with lamb appetizer, super tasty with spices that burst in your mouth. We split a delicious chicken dish, two skewers of dark meat so large we took literally 1/2 home with us. So full we couldn't order desert but we'll start with that when we return. Thank you to Nico, the manager, for advising us on the generous size of portions. Appetizer included salads while the main dish includes vegetables and flavorful rice. My friends and I ate here right after flying in, and it definitely hit the spot! We got the trio kebab plate with shrimp, steak, and chicken. A family of 10, first time attended, with reservations for 6:45 pm. We sat for 2 hours - being served a few appetizers, some water, 2 sodas, and two drinks. We made the decision to leave. No one explained the delay for our meals. The grille and bar was half empty. Takeout was being served. People were coming and going. Bathrooms out of commission. Appetizers were very pricey - a few (like 10 small) calamari; small bowl of humus; 6 small, thin slices of pita bread. As we were leaving, my son was approached by the "manager" ? with an apology. He offered meals in takeout bags. Probably costing over $300. Meals were scant and average quality. Side note: the belly dancer was inappropriate in what she said and in approaching a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and an 11 year old granddaughter. At least the woman was clothed! I had lunch at Flames today. It was my first visit and definitely will not be my last. The lunch menu has a decent variety from Gyros to Schwarma and many Kabobs. I ordered the Fresh Salmon Kabob which was accompanied by a salad and hummus. The salmon was at least 6 oz. of center cut which was seasoned just right, moist with just a hint of char on the outside. Absolutely delicious. The hummus is fresh made in house and is quite good. The pita bread is sourced from their family bakery and was also good. The salad was typical Mediterranean and was flavorful and not too salty (many of these salads that I've had in the past are over salted. My server, Amara, was extremely attentive and friendly while not being intrusive as was the hostess who kept my water glass full at just the right time. The menu pricing is appropriate for the quality meal and experience that I enjoyed. Flames is now definitely on my list of restaurants to frequent. read more

But the special Snapper meal for $44 was awful - this was the smallest fish that I have ever been served at a restaurant - and should have sent it back. Barely could get any meat off this "minnow". Had the Caesar salad, Muhammara and Loaded Hummus. All were very good. The Loaded Hummus was serves in a soup bowl in a pile. There is nothing better than to ho to a restaurant that satisfies your every need. The service was wonderful. The menu filled with delicious and fresh options from a number of middle eastern countries. We had house salad, fresh and crisp, Aleppo Kafta, tender and moist on 2 skewers, with creamy smooth hummus and bread that was thin and seasoned beautifully. The rice was luscious and each grain separated. Our other dish, a Gyro on Gluten free bread was perfection and we got extra tiziki to add to it. Large portions and lovely server. Our waiter Nico was the best and he had like 6 tables ?? Always asked if we needed something or a recommendation- was great ! We tried three of their kebabs: shrimp (delish and perfectly cooked), chicken (delish and still juicy), and lamb (least favorite and a little too chewy). Noteworthy was their house salad which was perfectly dressed. For me, there is nothing worse than an overdressed soggy salad, and this was perfect. Service was efficient and attentive without being over-bearing. Tons of parking, so no problems with that. Surprisingly nice wine selection - nothing fancy, but solid. We had the best authentic most delicious food! Nico, our server, was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and even gave us helpful suggestions based on our preferences and how the food is cooked! He suggested the Jordanian Mousakhan because the chicken is more tender (which it was) and I suggest asking to add pitta with it because having the delicious chicken with the pitta and hummus and roasted vegetables was literally divine! We also got the Mediterranean Nachos as our starter and honestly when that came out the smell was what had us drooling but the taste was even better! SO GOOD!! The service was decently quick and the interior decoration was very beautiful, I highly recommend this place just for the food and service, but definitely a great date spot!!
