I do not say this lightly, but this place made it onto my top 5 restaurants in Vero after just one…read moremeal. It's an unassuming, small, restaurant that is easy to keep driving by, but it has some of the best food we've eaten here. Your best plan is to arrive for opening at 5pm unless you want to wait to be seated - it fills up quickly after the doors open. Parking is ample for the size of the establishment, and the dress code is casual. The duck wings were wonderful. Everything you could want with crispy skin, plenty of meat, and a sticky sauce that is flavorful and not too spicy. The shrimp and grits are the best I have ever eaten, and I've been to many of the landmark restaurants in New Orleans. The spice level is really on point - warming, but not too hot - with plenty of shrimp and sausage. Grits perfectly prepared, and the whole dish was swimming in delicious broth. Simply perfect. Their tuna tacos were also delicious with a generous amount of sushi-grade tuna perfectly seared. My only complaint is that the meal we enjoyed was so delicious, it's going to be difficult not to order the same meal over, and over, which would be a shame because everything we saw coming out of this power-house kitchen looked amazing.

We arrived roughly 30 minutes after they opened. When we came inside, the woman sitting behind the host podium didn't acknowledge us at all. I finally said hello and mentioned we were there for a table. Her response was, "Sorry, they just stormed the castle." I wasn't sure what that meant, so I asked how long the wait might be. She simply said there were no more times available. After driving an hour to get there, I asked if she might have any suggestions for another place nearby where we could have a nice meal. Her response was just "no." The whole interaction was incredibly odd and unwelcoming. After making the trip specifically to come here, it was frustrating to be dismissed so quickly with no effort to help. Based on this experience, I won't be attempting another visit. ***it has since become a running joke between us whenever a situation makes no sense, we just say, "Someone must have stormed the castle."

I had the Mediterranean Flatbread without the chicken, but took the chicken home as leftovers for the family. It was piled with artichokes, great quality kalamata olives, etc. The chesses with the pesto sauce and drizzle were a delicious combination! My son enjoyed the leftover chicken. Hubby had the Granny's Pot Roast. He was impressed with how lean the meat was and that he could cut it with his fork. The loaded mashed potatoes looked phenomenal. In addition to the food being delicious, the staff was wonderful. We had three different waitstaff checking on us throughout our meal. We watched them open doors for people coming in and leaving the restaurant. The restaurant also has a popular meal planning service. They rotate their menu monthly. This will definitely be one of our new go to spots!

The food was prepared quickly, came out hot and fresh, and was full of flavor. The only thing keeping this from a review is that I found the menu somewhat limited (one steak option, no burger, one seafood entree option). Certainly this is due to a rotating menu so what makes them special to others was a bit limiting for me. I'll definitely be back to check out future menu options!
