This is the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. My drink stayed empty the entire time that I was there. The server was blatantly rude. Whenever she gave me the bill I had to ask for a refill. And when she did refill it she acted like it was a big deal. And when she came back and saw what I had left her she looked at me dead in the eyes and said "Really that's it, I just refilled your drink." The service was terrible and I tipped accordingly. I found this Chinese buffet out from yelp. It's been hard for me to find good authentic Chinese food here in dallas. Iv goon to quit a full places and this is by far the best place iv gone to. I went on a Sunday afternoon during lunch time because I just New it would be the freshest food out. And boy I wasn't wrong at all you can see all the workers hustling around the buffet. Fresh food coming in and food that was stirring out to long out. The price was not bad at all I'll tell you that. The rice was sooo good it was perfect. The habashi was really good not a lot of places can actually get it done right. The sushi I normally don't get it at buffet but I put my judgement aside and it was delicious. The server was hustling in and out getting everyone situated and getting al the dirty plates out the way in a a timely manner. In most restaurant you have a server in one section only responsible for that section not here all server are everywhere. This evening my girl and I went to dine in here. The food tasted like it's been sitting out there for hours with fresh hot food being poured over it. As we were trying to enjoy our meals, our server came up and dropped the bill. Which is fine but the other servers kept hovering over us and asking if we're ready to pay while we still had food in our mouths. They constantly chatted in their language and kept looking over at us as if they were speaking about us. It felt like we were being singled out for being a young couple. This place was horrible!! for one they try to charge me a dinner price at noon and they also try to charge me for water.. the orange chicken and sesame chicken were pretty much slime. The food in the buffet looks and tastes like it's been left for death in a warming pan. It was not fresh and had no taste. I'm disappointed by the lack of hospitality and when I addressed the manager about the quality/safety, he blamed it on not having enough product. The way Our waiter was talking to us felt racist, she kept trying to talk to us in Spanish when we were clearly speaking English the whole time. When it came to the check she was practically forcing us for a tip, we kept trying to decline but she wouldn't take it, when she finally walked away she kept shaking her head and mumbled something under her breath . I actually really like this place and have been twice over the past month during lunch. Both times I went around noon and in the middle of the week. Their chicken wings are BOMB...crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Their stir fry rice noodle is delish. The shrimp is good too and their broccoli beef. Also I loved the hibachi grill which was fresh & cooked to perfection. From soups to salad everything was yummy! My favorites were the fried shrimp & regular spicy shrimp (not fried). As buffets go, they are a dime a dozen in most cities. However, what sets Flaming Buffet apart from the rest is the freshness and variety of the food. It's a spacious location (used to be a GattiTown) so there is plenty of seating available. They group the food categories together which is great for those of us who may be at risk for cross contamination from food allergies (me). For the money, you just can't beat this place for the sheer selection and quantity of food! Does it "stand out" as far as food quality is concerned? No, not really, but this is again where selection and quantity make up for it. They did not have any music in background!!. Some people might like it quiet but it was way too quiet for us!! When it comes to Chinese buffet, you really can't be too picky. I usually blame one of my kids when we go buffet as the kids typically prefers a little of everything. Got there on a Saturday night, The place was about 80% full, which is good as the turnover on food will be more often and fresher. We were seated quickly and went off on our adventure. Usually, I like to start on the Mongolian as you can pick and choose the food, so it's little fresher. You have to tell the cook not too much soy sauce, which is what they typically add. On round 2, I just got a little bit of this and that. I would offer more detail description, but none of the food really stands out. Most are all the basic that you would find at the typical Chinese buffet. Many of the sauces are similar, just with different meat or veggie. They didn't have anything unique that would set them apart from others. I think most people know that if you find a Chinese restaurant pack with Chinese, its usually a good indication that it's half decent. Well, this place was pack, but we were the only Asian, thus the reason for the 2 stars. The food is just too typical of a buffet place, and the service was just lacking. Again, as I said in the beginning, my expectation is usually pretty low for these type of restaurant. Was really hoping that they would proof me wrong, but not here. This is a typical Dallas Chinese buffet, in that there's a good mix of other cuisines mixed in. Slice of pepperoni pizza? They got it. After all, the place was a pizza joint in its previous incarnation. The food is good, and they keep it well stocked. I have to take away a star for their hibachi grill. It's poorly designed. I've seen guys work a round, island hibachi with the same amount of surface area, and they can handle 6 orders at once. This can barely handle 2, partially because it's also doing double-duty, grilling boneless chicken breasts, and because it's a rather shallow rectangle, with the chef only have access to one side. And for some reason, when I take my food back to my table, after about 5 minutes it looks like I'm eating stew. All the liquid from the meat (I guess) has drained onto the plate. I've never seen anything like that elsewhere, but it happens every time here. It's so off-putting that I just skip the hibachi now. That's okay, since they have such a good selections of other items. Another plus - they carry their weekday prices over to Saturday as well. A lot of buffets don't. However, if you pay for the lunch, apparently you only get to eat the "lunch" food. I was having a late lunch there one day, and as I was leaving, I noticed they had started putting out the dinner-only items, and they had little "dinner only" signs in front of those food items. I had passed by this place several times on my way home from work, and never thought of going in. Boy was I wrong! I went for lunch today and it was great! It is extremely clean and the staff are very nice. The buffet is humongous with one lane for desert, one for cold food items, and then 3 more with mixed food and soup. They also have pretty darn good sushi and a really good hibachi grill section. It was pretty inexpensive too as it was only $10 for one person. All in all I know I gave this place 5 stars, but that is because I am rating it against other buffets that I have been to. This is crazy, but outside of Vegas, I'd never heard of a buffet that offered half-shell oysters...until this weekend. And I didn't get sick! (Made for a smoother drive home.) Flaming Buffet offers mostly Chinese food but also includes sushi, cooked-to-order noodle plates from the grill, and the standard assortment of buffet seafood and desserts. It's a large space and will seat families given enough time to prep tables. For the oysters and space alone, I'm bumping my rating from three to four stars (would have been 3.5, but oh well). Ever since the closing of the beloved Szechuan Pavilion, my husband and I have been on the hunt for a decent Chinese buffet. SP spoiled us- it was reliably tasty, clean, well stocked and run by a great family who kept up the quality and ambience. As we've learned, these elements aren't easy to find in a Chinese buffet... So we decided to give Flaming Buffet a try, though we'd been somewhat turned off by the bright exterior each time we drove by on the way to Franki's Italian around the corner. We should have taken it as a sign- the interior is so bright, the place could moonlight as a surgical theater. Neon surrounds the dining area, fluorescent lamps hover, and chrome is abundant. The food isn't bad, I grant you- but you'd do well to feel enthusiastic about your choices, as you'll be peering at them with microscopic clarity. It's that damned bright. The other thing: Kids. LOTS OF KIDS. I don't mind kids, and I understand why folks bring them to these places, but there were so many of them that I couldn't hear adult voices. A sort of swarm of tiny humans, vocalizing and running about, bumping into adults, and each other, as though in a living pinball machine. It was odd, and had an air of flirting with Lord of the Flies territory. I can't imagine what Tuesday is like- the place strongly advertises that on this day of the week, Kids Eat Free. Shudder. In all, if you like your dining excruciatingly well lit and piled high with children, give Flaming Buffet a go. My buddies and I were super hungry on Friday and couldn't decide between pizza, wings, Chinese buffet, or a Mongolian grill. We decided to give this place a try. Decent price. $11.99 for a buffet is not a bad deal. Very clean place and lots of variety to choose from! I ended up being able to not only shovel down the typical Chinese cuisine, but I also was able to down some buffalo wings, pizza, and even cheese sticks!! They also had a grill where you could do your own "Mongolian grill" plate where you get to choose the combination of what you want grilled. It lost a star for me because I love to frequent the soft serve machine and it was not working properly. It came out as a milkshake instead of soft serve. All in all I would totally come back and plan on doing that soon. Bonus: I was able to experience my friend trying crawfish for the first time and it was hysterical. Food is alright except for the fact that people let their kids go serve themselves and they make a mess. I was also appalled by the fact that they would not charge me a child's meal for my 10 year old daughter. They said they don't go by age they go by height.
