This is a decent, family owned American-style Chinese takeout spot. Open 7 days a week with daily lunch specials each day from 11a - 2:30p. Lunches come with fried rice and an egg roll (one of the best I have found in Dallas). This little place is takeout only...I didn't live in Dallas before the pandemic, but my guess is that they switched to takeout then and the business model worked. The food: beef was tough and while the chicken pieces were HUGE, most had gristle. The rice was very dry and very plain. I would ask for steamed instead. If you are on the hunt for a comfort spot to get your Asian takeout fix you have to try out Szechuan! This has quickly become my boyfriend and I's go to spot for Chinese takeout! for many reasons! The food for starters! I have become attached to my original order of steak, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms in sauce and OMG! It's definitely a hearty comfort meal because one thing about this place, they do not hold back when it comes to portion size! I also really love their wonton soup! It's honestly my favorite thing on the menu, not just because of the amazing taste, but because of the portion size! I'm telling you, they do not hold back at all! The other thing that really sells this place has got to be the price point! now a day's it's so hard to find reasonably priced take out! I typically never pay more than 13$ for my steak and veggies and no more than 5$ for my wonton soup! and with the portions being so generous, i typically have leftovers for lunch the next day! We also always pick up and the employees are super nice and always very prompt with our orders! We will have to see if dine in is ever an option! Wow what a find! I visited recently while in Dallas and can't recommend the food here enough. The star of the show during the visit was the beef in tea sauce--salty, sweet, and a little bit of spice. I can only describe as a warm, comforting hug. SO, SO GOOD. The customer service was great. Our waitress was clearly busy managing all the calls for takeout orders as well as in-person ones, but still did so with kindness and grace. She explained to us that the indoor space is a bit crowded with boxes and isn't fully functional since some pandemic setbacks. Personally, I don't think it took away from the experience, as anyone that knows about good food knows that it's not limited to fancy buildings. If you're a bit claustrophobic though, I'd recommend a to-go order. One other thing I'd like to give a shoutout to this place for is that they give back to the community. I watched as numerous unhoused individuals came by and were provided food by the restaurant without question. I stopped by Szechuan Chinese restaurant and was immediately taken back. The space was extremely dirty and looked more like a warehouse than a restaurant. The tables and chairs were dusty and there didn't appear to be a proper area for dine in at all. I decided to give it a chance and ordered food anyway. When I received my order, the food was already spilled inside the bag. I live literally around the corner and never tipped the bag, so it clearly spilled before I received it. My egg wonton soup was placed in what looked like a regular soda cup, which was surprising and unprofessional. As for the food itself, the lo mein was not good and the chicken and shrimp. Fried rice had no flavor. The chicken pieces were oddly shaped and very large, which was offputting. Overall, I'm very disappointed. Food was meh. Absolutely tasteless sauce for shrimp in lobster sauce. Shrimp were cooked perfect and had good flavor. No pineapple in the sweet and sour pork, so the sweet is dark red sauce. Beef egg rolls and spring rolls were pretty good. The take out containers were a joke. Styrofoam for all but shrimp sauce. Soup in a 10oz coffee cup with flimsy plastic lid. I guess maybe ok for college kids but seems cheap. Whole meal seemed to made as cheap as possible. No options to buy a small, so you have to pay $13-14 dollars for each entree. They do charge a fee for ordering online that's applied when you pick up which, I believe, could be removed. *This spot is to go only, no inside dining* My go to order is the combo fried rice, side of sweet and sour sauce, and hot and sour soup. The first time I tried this restaurant I was very disappointed. The name is misleading as this is not at all authentic Sichuanese food. Do not come here expecting it. They removed most seating since the pandemic, set up for take out. That being said, they operate as your normal American take-out Chinese food. As it comes to take-out Chinese, I'd say they're average. They have decent fried rices, soups, and the expected variation of meat dishes. This location is to-go only these days. I first tried this place at the height of the pandemic, but since then, it's been my go to Chinese take out place!! Service is Uber fast. Usually I just place an order thru the phone, and within 8 minutes, food is ready. I won't claim they have the best Chinese food in town, but considering the price, the freshness and quantity, this place is really hard to beat.
