The other day, after flushing the toilet, I accidentally dropped a twenty dollar bill into the bowl and watched it disappear into the drain below. I felt upset and frustrated. However, it was nowhere near the frustration I felt paying $20 to the Flaming Crab seafood restaurant today at the end of my lunch visit. I walked in and asked for a table for one. The girl at the podium seemed surprised that I didn't want to sit at the bar. Upon sitting down, I was handed the two available menus. Before getting a chance to peruse them, the waitress appeared asking, very nicely, if I'd been there before (no) and if I had any questions about the menu (yes). She gave me the confusing rundown, but since I was only there for a quick, late lunch, I didn't linger. When she brought my water, I asked if the lobster bisque was thick. She said it was not and that I'd be better off with the chowder. I went with the recommendation. I also asked what seafood was in the Seafood Avocado Salad. I was told "shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat." I have had such salads before, and for $12 it sounded great. She brought my soup. It was decidedly NOT thick. Although the flavor was there, there was very little "stuff." Few potatoes, a bit of celery, an d only an inkling of clams. She asked what dressing I wanted for my salad. I asked for Russian/Thousand Island. She had never heard of such a thing. They only have balsamic vinaigrette, ranch, and blue cheese. I went with the last one. When she brought the salad I was dumbfounded. Three (medium, at best) boiled shrimp - obviously previously frozen, tail-on, with NO SEASONING at all. There were a few shreds of crabmeat - maybe 1-1/2 to 2 ounces complete with bits of cartilage. Scallops - no. None. Nada. I called her over and asked what happened to the scallops. "I might have made a mistake. Do you want me to ask the manager?" "Yes." (One minute later...) "I was wrong. There are scallops in the Seafood Avocado Po' Boy, but not the salad." ME: "Is this the normal amount of seafood?" "Yes." There was a decent pile of mostly baby spinach and some arugula. A few grape tomatoes and some cucumber slices. She also placed two cafeteria-style, plastic, commercial cups of blue cheese dressing (you know, peel off the top?) on the table with their never-ending list of chemical ingredients staring me in the face. Cheap, kitschy, anything-but-appetizing. No apologies, no offer to get something else, take it away, etc. She did, at least admit that she was at fault, but that's where it ended. I ate what was there because I was hungry, time was ticking away, and there was only the choice to leave it and go, which I didn't want to do. By the way, the dirty soup bowl remained on the table the whole time. When she finally came to retrieve it, she asked if things were good. I said, "No." She asked if there was any feedback I could give her. I could only say that it was less than satisfactory, that it was unremarkable (for which I later apologized knowing that I would remark online) and just landed on "disappointing all around." It wasn't what I was told I was getting and the quality was poor to fair. The presentation was childish. My ten-year-old daughter could have cobbled together a more appetizing salad. Overall: Stay away. Tremendous fail. No saving graces here. I paid $20 for about $3 worth of disgusting, unprofessional, unappetizing, garbage. read more

While visiting the area, a few of us decided to try this place. I really enjoyed my combination of scallops and crab legs. Loads of scallops and had a very nice flavor. Service was prompt and friendly. Downside was only 3 beers on tap. Did have a few IPAs in bottles, but a cold draft would have been perfect. read more

So my family has been to the flaming crab on 248 a few times and we have always been happy with the meal. I just want to let others know that if you have 6 or more people they automatically put the tip on the bill. It was never brought to our attention and we feel taken advantage of because we always left a tip! So the server has got 40% tip each time. Just be warned that they include tip for 6 or more and don't tell you. So pay attention! Seems a little shady it just shows up as a "charge" on the bill. read more

Finally, I was able to say #69 and she said so sorry for the wait (????) Got home in 15 minutes, opened the bag to find TWO DINNERS IN ONE BOX (WTF AGAIN!!!). What if it was for two people? Stupid....then, this was a HORRIBLE, GREASY, OILY MUSHY MESS WITH FRIES, TINY STUPID OYSTERS AND THE WORSE CATFISH EVER MADE.....WORSE FRIED FOOD EVER!!!!! I am very disappointed with this establishment. The very first time my family and I had dinner it wasn't bad. This was on Mother's Day 2022.This was before the menu changes and when the food was delivered to the table in the plastic bags. The seafood overall was juicy. The sauce was even good. We returned two other times and was very disappointed. The sauce was extremely salty. I complained to the manager. The manager stated he has a new cook. We received a 10% discount. Today we decided to give them one more try and what a mistake this was! We placed our order and sat patientLt for it to arrive at the table. As always the presentation was great. As my family began to eat the food was very salty. Then it happened. My granddaughter handed me a mussel with a long strand of hair on it. I was livid! I begin to look at all of the dishes only to find more hair( human) in our food. I called our server Kimberly over and she couldn't believe it. Another server approached our table to offer an apology. I requested a discount form that tray. Some of what we ordered was never brought to our table. After receiving my bill needless to say I was completely shocked. I didn't want to create a scene due to the young children within the proximity of our table. I paid the bill and I vow NEVER EVER TO RETURN! I meal with human hair was a total cost of $569.44. I was offered a 15% discount upon my return. No thank you. This is an obvious board of health violation which I will submit on Monday morning. So dang sad an establishment is not concerned with serving a safe product!!!! read more

My husband ordered lobster bisque which he said was great, i ordered the hush puppies appetizer and all i can say is yum! For our entrees my husband and i both ordered the weekend catch (lobster tail, crab legs and shrimp with potatoes and corn on the cob) we got ours with garlic butter and mild spice..so much flavor we both enjoyed it thoroughly and had no leftovers the only thing my husband said was that he felt it was a little salty which most likely came from the spice..he normally uses no salt at all, i thought it was fine. read more

If I would have known that I would have never ordered from this place . This is disgusting and complaetely unsanitary who knows where these bags have been sitting or what's been on them. The first time I ever had the Flaming Crab I was surprised by how nice the inside was. The ambiance is great and the food is even better. Everything is very reasonably priced and tastes incredible. I highly recommend their secret weapon sauce, as it's a combination of garlic/cajun and it's so good to dip everything in. Clam chowder is excellent. Lobster bisque fell a little short but I've definitely had much worse. Even their chicken tenders and fries are very tasty. Last few times we ordered we got takeout and it was still just as good, if not better because I could eat messy seafood in the comfort of my own home. If you haven't gone here yet, go! read more
