After hearing a lot about this buffet, I had to stop in and try it for myself while I was in town. The quality if food and service far surpassed my expectations. The building was quite large inside. Given the fact that is in a strip mall, I expected it to be on the smaller side, but once I stepped through the front door I was transported to a universe of seafood and sushi. I was in Love! We came in for memorial day, so the fee was $12.99 for the entire day, which was a steal! I believe that the dinner prices on a regular day is $13.99. The abundance of food is almost overwhelming. The first table was loaded with desserts, raw oysters, squid, and shrimp cocktail. Clearly this was the table that got my focus IMMEDIATELY. The next table was loaded with fried favorites: Chicken, egg rolls, and crab. There was also macaroni and cheese, crab salad, cheese bread and rolls. The next Table is where I spent the most of my time. It had the crabs, and some other yummies that I was paying absolutely no attention to because I was focused on the crab ... lol. In the back there was a Sushi and Hibachi station. Fresh Sushi and Hibachi made right there on the spot! I went up about 30 million times ... lol. The food was phenomenal!! This location is fairly new but their staff has to get it together and not show that they are overwhelmed. Our first visit here since it opened in this new location. We were ecstatic since it was much closer than their original location in Revere. Upon entering, you pay first before being seated (the other one in Revere is you eat first then pay after). We were a party of 2, so we definitely had extra space in our table. We didn't mind the extra space. Then a party of 3 gets seated next to us (another table of 4), then soon after 2 other guests from that party arrive. And tell me why they had their party seated in our table. We didn't mind sharing the space since we were about to leave but were not asked if it was okay by the wait staff and why would you seat a table of 5 on a four seats table to begin with? There was definitely more tables to seat a party of 5, the poor guy had a split table to eat on. After this happened, after consuming bland food, we were so disappointed; we left within 30 minutes of being there. Regretfully to report back that we are disappointed! The food was bland for being a buffet even with "variety." The wait staff seemed to have their feet on fire since they almost ran in to me 3x while I had a plate of food in my hand. They looked overwhelmed with their tasks and paying no mind when they rush by you while carrying a plate of food. The craw fish is what we mainly go for. We were utterly let down when the craw fish had no taste, it tasted like spicy water (lol!) since they threw in chopped bell peppers and soaked the craw fish in water. Next I tried, their fried chicken, veggie spring roll and their lo mien noodles- the fried chicken was probably their most tastiest (it wasn't over fried or dried and was thoroughly cooked through the bone), the veggie spring roll was soggy and the lo mien had a little flavor but after your bite, you were still waiting for the flavor taste but disappointed. Next I had 3rd plate hoping it wasn't going to disappoint, which this plate consisted of 3 pieces of chicken nuggets, a scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy, a piece of prime rib and 2 pieces of sushi with sauce. The only thing that was good out of this plate was the mashed potatoes and gravy (tbh, it tasted like the box ones you can make yourself at home, prob why it tasted good). The chicken nuggets were over cooked, the prime rib was disgustingly too tender and the sushi was more rice than anything else, so it's like you just ate a scoop of rice. We didn't even bother with desserts, if their main buffet was bland, we didn't want it ruining our tastebuds for desserts. Definitely NOT coming back here because one the food is not worth it, two the wait staff are overwhelmed to even have common manners and three definitely do not want to be seated with another party without consent or notification from their staff. Solid as far as buffets go with a big variety and a great turn out so all the dishes are fresh and tasty. They also have a rustic hibachi service that is good or bad depending on whos back there at the moment. Lots of dessert and salad and fruits as well. Cant go wrong with a cheap buffet. All americanized chinese food with a huge crowd of people with families. Whats different is that you pay first before you sit. You can tip them then and when you're about to leave I'd say though, everytime I go, the customers are not classy at all on multiple incidents. One time an older couple walked in without paying sat on our table, and they looked at us like they didnt do anything wrong. Another time that there was a random child that was playing with his small toy car around the restaurant and sat on various tables with other customers eating and just breifly watched him while his parents didnt care. Then another time, there was 4 high school kids who were playing food fight with each other with some fries. Obviously the staff cant really do much on who comes in, but hopefully they can find a way to not lure people with no class. Revere location is better in my opinion based on crowd/community. Amd here is what they have... A Hibachi bar where you can picm your cold items and have them cooked for you (the best in the house for its low diet picks). A bar woth 14 diferwnt Sushi picks! A Seafood bar, chicken prepared in various way, pizza, and a dessert plus a salad bar. Honestly, its hard not to get stuffed. Thats the totality of the problem, that is getting stuffed! I always judge Chinese buffets on whether or not I get sick after (being totally serious). I have been here several times now and have not gotten sick. There are a variety of precooked hot options that are good and always plentiful even during busy hours, but my favorite is the hibachi with teriyaki sauce! I tend to prefer going later in the evening when it is not as busy and there are less kids running around, but even during busy hours the staff does a good job of keeping up with the demand. The seating area is HUGE. I have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a table. I also like how occasionally there are special dishes like ribs and fish fillets. There is also a nice selection of REAL ice cream for dessert if you have room. 3 stars for solidly good food +1 for the awesome hard working staff read more

Went there for dinner buffet. Was pretty packed on weekend but wait was minimal. Staff were friendly. Food options were pretty varied. Lots of seafood (crabs, different shrimps, different fish), meats (lots of classic fried asian meat), salads, sushi (some rolls and sashimi), hibachi station where you bring up veggies and meat and they grill it for you. Desserts included some fruits, cakes and ice cream. For the price of 12.95 of course this is all great. Down side is non of the food was that tasty. That includes from all of the above I tried. And Flaming Grill does exactly that successfully. The restaurant provides exactly what you would expect from this type of community-based buffet. Your standard mix of Chinese, American, and what-the-hell-is-that type of food. A few notable pluses that I enjoyed: + Hibachi chef on duty at all times + Wide selection of sushi + Instead of the standard soft serve ice cream station, they had a freezer full of ice cream treats + Prompt service My only complaint about the restaurant was that they clearly used the same frying oil for all of their fried goods. Sometimes that's fine, and sometimes you can taste it (especially with the fried dough). A pro tip: I've seen them distribute coupons for essentially $1 off per person, but you have to buy a drink. Their sodas cost $1.69 each, so it means that you are paying $0.69 for a soda, if you want to use the coupon. Lunch prices are $8.49 from Mon-Fri, $9.99 on Saturday, and $13.99 on Sunday. You have to understand, for what it is (a Chinese buffet), Flaming Grill was a pleasant experience. The establishment was clean and the service (refill of drinks, cleaning off table) was quick. They have your normal selection you would find in a Chinese buffet a variety of seafood selection (crab, crawfish, clams, and fish), and in addition, they have sushi and a hibachi grill! Sushi platters are not labeled which makes it suspicious, at best. They did make rolls via request, which was super nice of them. Hibachi had a variety of meats from chicken ti beef to seafood. I wish they had a list of sauces they used so every one at the hibachi grill wouldn't have to ask "What sauce do you have" every single time. It's been a while since I have ventured to an AYCE place for $12.99 a person for weekday dinner. I walked in didn't expect much but was greatly surprised by the spread and freshness of food. I tried the American Chinese food staples - general gau's, black pepper chicken, teriyaki wings, broccoli and beef and some stir fried greens. They were all on point and freshly made. Next was the hibachi. I got a plate of shrimp fried rice with onions, eggs, scallions and bean sprouts. It was good. Fruits were fresh..and lots of pineapples were served. They were sweet and juicy. I did not try everything they had to offer but overall, everything that I had was good. This place definitely offer big bang for your bucks. I love food, I'm a big eater, but can also be a quality-snob. Minado (Natick) sets a pretty high bar for sushi buffet. Having only been here for lunch, here's my take: - Lots of variety. At-least average overall buffet food quality. Hibachi, sushi, HUGE dessert bar. $8.50 for weekday lunch(??). You won't find better bang for your buck. - School caf atmosphere (not that it really matters), only a few sushi options, a least for lunch (don't expect Minado- Did I mention lunch is $8.50??), some weird/unappetizing items ("crab cheese") and some junky "American" offerings (garlic bread/hotdog). My theory is they put out some junky stuff because many people prefer it at this price point. That's OK since it subsidizes unlimited sushi/hibachi for the rest of us! If you go in with an empty stomach and reasonable expectations, you'll leave happy. read more

It took a few months for them to open up. I received coupons that expired before they had their grand opening, ha. Anyways, it was worth the wait. The variety of food they have in this place is serious. Huge tables of food, all you can eat sushi, a hibachi grill, and a huge assortments of desserts. I went on a Sunday and paid $14 (dinner all day on Sundays) + $2 for unlimited drinks. You can get coffee, juice, soda, or water. There is no alcohol served here unfortunately. The place was relatively crowded, but that's to be expected. Every table is stacked with plates so you can grab and go. I ate the following items: prime rib (amazing), salmon, sesame chicken, general gao's chicken, baked potato skins, pizza, house fried price, and shrimp. Everything I had is about what you'd expect from a buffet place. It's nothing too fancy, but it's worth what you pay. There's some stuff I didn't get because it creeps me out such as prawn, octopus, clams, etc. Anything that still resembles a body is off the table for me. The hibachi grill has a small, but simple selection. You can chose your noodles, rice, and egg with a choice of a few meats. I believe I saw chicken, flank steak, and thick slices of steak. You can get them cooked with a variety of toppings. I chose ginger and teriyaki sauce. It was pretty tasty and quite the treat. I ate 2 plates while I was here and honestly I was pretty stuffed by the time I got to dessert. I had a cookie which was decent, but I didn't get to try too much more. Overall, it was a really nice experience. The only employee interaction is waiters coming by to bring your drinks, paying, and the hibachi grill. The food is decent and it's a good price. We went at 2 PM on a Saturday and it was moderately busy but certainly not crowded. I would suggest going out for a late lunch-- not busy and lunch prices-- win win. I tried a tiny little bit of most of the hot Asian dishes and almost everything was very good. Everything was hot and fresh and the buffet looked clean and well maintained the entire time we were there. The hibachi was good as were the desserts (which was shocking because most Chinese buffet desserts usually suck). We sampled the soups, almost all of the hot Asian dishes, some sushi, hibachi, dessert-- very few things disappointed us. Our waters were always kept refilled and dirty plates were removed from our table almost immediately. My husband tried a few of the American dishes and wasn't disappointed. Good variety of foods, staff are pretty nice and clean the tables and area often, some of the fried food are very VERY dry so I would avoid that, and the sushi is ok - probably better at a real sushi restaurant. Also, an experience which is extremely unacceptable, I was eating noodles and found a rubber band in my food. It was on the smaller side but that made me very careful with everything I put on my plate and I probably will never want to come and eat here again. There is a good variety of dishes you'd expect like general gaos chicken, lo mein, beef and broccoli, chicken and broccoli, fried rice, wonton soup, house donuts, spring rolls, crab rangoons, etc. Then they'll have American items like pizza, pot roast, and wings. On top of that, there is a selection of sushi, hibachi, and raw bar items. They have ice cream novelties in a case for dessert. There really is something for everyone here. My only complaint is that they don't have crab legs except for 1 time when we went on Mother's Day (note: the pan was empty in 30 seconds each time the staff put one out, which wasn't very often). read more

My Experience sums up to disappointed. At first I was excited upon hearing Flaming grill was opening a new restaurant in Boston. The stark atmosphere and organization was unattractive. I guess the location speaks for itself. The sushi bar had no description of items being served. Waiters weren't as attentive. I personally felt that the food was basic and questionable. No way will I come back. This place has a big space for a large crowd but lacks the ambiance and appeal of a great lasting Resturant. Don't expect a refill on drinks. Expect to pay up front upon entry instead of at end. The Hibachi grill was great. The faucet situation in the ladies room made it very hard to wash your hands. Saying this was an interesting experience let's this place off lightly. Went for the lunch buffet. You start by paying for your buffet and sodas and then you are seated for all you can eat. The lady who set our table sneezed on her hands than set the table. The hygiene was questioned at that point The buffet is serve yourself and there is a wide variety of choices. Nothing was particularly good but there was also ice cream. When leaving our waiter produced an awkward amount of mints (9) for the 4 of us, but he produced them out of no where, which was pretty cool. The mint was enough to remove any aftertaste of the place but my stomach is currently in shambles and extreme turmoil. Highly doubtful I would return.
