Yesterday 11/23 We (party of 12) had the ocation to visit this place @12 pm The waiter promptly welcomed us and took our order but the food didn't start coming at approximately 2:15 it's a good thing. There was plenty of us to keep the conversation going, but after two hours, you tend to notice the food is taking forever to get there. and when they say started, I mean the plates came out one at a time. We went in as a party so that we could eat together. Not one at a time, and Some of them. Actually cold orders. Must've gotten mixed up or confused the cook in the back because they were all mixed up. then the drinks were all mixed up too. They had some products and some products they didn't. The waiter. Tried to apologize for the terrible mistakes and wasn't his fault. Apparently they only have one cook that couldn't keep up when went to pay the bill. Outrageous for my wife and I but I still was eight dollars A fish was $30 a plate or were not complete. A glass of tea was $8I understand it. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and pay for the atmosphere. But this is not all that believe me the food was not all and the food left a lot to be. Desired. No one ever asked if everything was good with what they had. Not even if we needed any refills, or if the food was appropriate and at the register wow what the hell! for what we were build. I understand the gratuity for a party that large, but I will tell you this. It was the most expensive piece of fish. I have ever eaten in my life. This is a bar not a high dollar restaurant, but they charge like it is 5 star for half star food. They charge first rate prices and as for recommending. It Absolutely NEVER! The only thing I can recommend go drink there, but don't eat. The drinks are kind of expensive too. But once you're drunk, you don't care. maybe that's why they serve bad food. I love this place. I've been a couple of times before and the food is always incredible. We went on Valentines night; they were short staffed but the service was fantastic. Everything did take a bit longer but the staff was so kind and friendly, very aware of their situation and kept apologizing (needlessly) for it. The Brazilian limeade was delightful.The birra tacos were outstanding. The waiter brought my leftovers and recommended I reheat them in the air fryer plus boxed up all the sauces for me. This was our first time here- it was surprisingly good! I say surprisingly because it is rare to find Caribbean food anywhere in the Texas panhandle. Visiting family in Amarillo. BIL says I know a place that has the best birria tacos. Place is nicely newly painted inside and out. Cute decor. Clean. I'm not big on birria tacos so I ordered the chicken flautas. My husband had the birria tacos and seemed to really enjoy them. My flautas were a 3, a couple eye good and crispy but a couple were mushy ! They serve you complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa has a little heat to it so I enjoyed it. The location was a small drive for us but worth it. Its right off the street but we missed it. Anyhow, it is small inside but plenty of seating. We were tended to quickly. Our waitress was good at showing us around the menu. I ordered tacos al carbon and my husband, birria tacos. It did take a while to get our food but like I said worth it. But...our biggest complaint was when we ordered a high quality tequila (Casa Amigos) and We saw them pour it into glass and the tequila they gave was was NOT Casa Amigos!!! it was a cheap bad tequila!! This is one of the best family owned businesses in Amarillo. The owners treat you like you are one of their own family, they go above and beyond to make sure your order is correct and tastes amazing. I don't venture much out of my taste palate so as far as food I've only had the Carne Asada Fries and the Barria tacos but if you do happen to stop in make sure to get a drink at the bar. This place is awesome. Truly unique menu. They mix classic Mexican dishes with lots of Central and South American delicacies. The menu is a bit overwhelming but there is something for everyone. The most popular dish is the Birria Tacos. They are amazing. Family owned (daughter, mother, father). Great servers. The only disappointment was the queso. It had a strange consistency and lacked flavor. I can't call it chili con queso as it had no other ingredients than cheese. Tacos al Pastor was fantastic. My server was so patient with me and helped me find what I wanted. The Birria style taco with broth is something that I have been craving for since I found it's existence a few months ago. I finally found a location that served it and I cannot say enough good things about it. Firstly, their chips and salsa- I cannot handle any level of spice. BUT I kept eating it because it was that good. My boyfriend and I finished two baskets. Secondly, they made fresh sweet tea and as soon as my boyfriend had one sip of it, he said "That's good" out loud. Out of the year that I've known him, he's never complimented any location's sweet tea. Thirdly, when I finally lifted the hefty beef filled taco with a layer of cheesy goodness dipped into that magical broth and into my mouth, I almost cried. It's incredible and beautifully presented. There were two other sauces and a variety of vegetables on the corner of my plate, but I don't eat vegetables and wasn't a fan of the sauces.
