I highly recommend this restaurant for their curbside pick up. We had the make your own pizza kit which makes two 12 inch pizzas. They were generous with ingredients and the directions were easy to follow. We had the sausage which was delicious. I went to this place according to the star ratings. I'm regretful that I didn't take the time to read the reviews and after realized that the review were based on the beer not the pizza. Well I will make it short and simple. My review is based on the pizza itself. The pizza was thin, lacking taste, it wasn't impressive at all, the sauce was watery and lacking amount of sauce, was just not tasty or amazing in any way. Not worth the money. I'm glad that I only order one pizza (which they are all made individual sizes for one person)and shared with my husband. We obviously stayed hungry and ended up in a different restaurant to finish up filling up our empty and disappointing stomachs. Will not recommend this place for pizza if that is what your craving for. I will go else where! read more

Danger. I ordered there extremely spicy pizza called Danger bc I love spicy foods. The menu states that honey is drizzled on the pizza. The copious amounts of honey used completely ruins the good taste of the spice, it's unbalanced. I ate the the crust area bc it was the only area with no honey. By the time, I finished the crust of one slice, I picked up the second piece and the dough was soggy from the honey. My husband and I tried several times to send the pizza back and the waiter continued to say the honey was just drizzled on the pizza and next time order it with no honey. In my opinion, ordering it with no honey would make to pizza too dry and/or powdery. They use a lot of powdered spices. The spice combo would probably be great in a focaccia, but not a pizza. I probably won't be coming back bc the description on the menu was inaccurate and the waiter refused to return the pizza and/or make me a different one. I gave two stars bc my husband did like the ol' sausage pizza, but none of the beers. read more

Very casual atmosphere, nothing to write home about; simple chairs/tables, odd lighting, super small. However, what they lack in ambience, they make up with the food and beer, which is really what matters. I always go for the specials with pizza and it's unfortunate that a lot of the off-menu 'za really only sticks around for a week or so. I once tried a pizza with fig here that I'm still dreaming about. Check this place out! I'm a person that normally writes bad reviews, but after dropping by last week, I said I would make the effort to write a good one here because the guys there went above and beyond with service. Nice little brewery in downtown Berrrrrwwwwyyyyn (sorry, it is a law you must say the name of the town that way). ;D We have friends that live in the area and they typically go here for dinner once a week so we knew it must be good. They had about 8 - 10 different beers to choose from when we were there and the few we had were each quite good. You can also get a flight (you get to choose the brews, too!) or purchase just 1 little sampler size so bonus points for those 2 options. And they aren't just a tap room - they also serve 11" pizzas from their wood-fired oven which is another bonus! They have several different pizzas to choose from. 2 of us shared 1 pizza and it was just right for us as we aren't usually big eaters. The ingredients were fresh and the sauce was good. The crust also tasted good but the entire pizza could have used an extra couple minutes in the oven. The interior/bottom crust wasn't crisp at all (exterior edge crust was) and the cheese, while melted wasn't that bubbly and in parts golden/toasty like I would expect from a wood-oven pizza. It still tasted very good, though and perhaps they are normally cooked a bit longer. The entire staff was really nice and happy to answer any questions. What an amazing evening at this place. There was a stand up comedy show for it sure was no charge, the comics were amazing and the pizza was divine. They had gourmet pizza in Berwynn Illinois! Was in town from New Jersey, so we know good pizza. Great pizza and the beer is even better. The Fantasmo Vanilla Cream Ale is one of their signature beers and is great. Obviously this is a sit down and order joint, a huge turnoff for customers who just want to pick up an order, than wait for it in the restaurant. Also a turnoff for customers are coming home for work (and it is right near a metra stop!) and just want to order online or on the phone and pick up. Small space with solid service and delicious wood fired pizzas. Beer is solid as are most breweries nowadays. Pizza was solid as is most food at breweries. We would definitely come back. Be prepared to be carded at almost any age on your first visit compliments of the shady Berwyn PD. The owners must do this because of being targeted by the PD. Apparently they didn't know the right people but any suburbanite comprehends how shady local governments are. They do have high chairs but there was not a changing table. This is a gem! Great pizza and awesome beer. Staff is friendly. My only complaint is their service is really inconsistent. We've been there a couple of times now and this last time, had to wait 20 min to place an order, another 20 min to get drinks. For our pizza, we waited an hour and 20. This brewery is awesome! I came here with a couple of friends to celebrate one of their birthdays, though I didn't get food we tried a couple of different beers. They were all very delicious to me! The brewery itself wasn't too crowded at all, and we were served very quickly. The bartender himself was great! He was very nice, made conversation with his customers and made us all feel welcome. I tried the Sopressata pizza, which I loved! It had a bit of spice and lots of great flavor! I ordered a soda, before seeing on their menu that it's house made soda. I was pretty disappointed by the taste of their Coke. It would've been nice for the waitress to mention, or they should have regular soda as an option as well. My friend greatly enjoyed the two different beers she tried, one being an IPA and one being a light beer when a banana flavor. It was a pretty long wait for the beers and for someone to come and take our order when we were first seated though. The staff was so friendly and their pizza smelled delicious. We only went for their beers though, just to cross another local brewery off the list. I'm sad to say we were not impressed at all. The beers didn't have much of a scent to them at all. After taking a sip, we agreed that there was a lot of body and character missing overall. The beers were bland without any sort of unique qualities to them. I hope that since they are still new that they continue to work on their product. It was a really hot day; we met, completed our run and then had a nice cold drink and their delicious pizza afterward. So good, I ate the whole thing myself! This was one of my favorite places. We have gone here over a dozen times. I love their 'Nduja pizza and I have never had a bad beer. We came here over the weekend because they posted a pumpkin cannoli on Facebook and it looked really good. We got the last open table and since we have little kids we put our pizza order in with our beer order. The server never came back to check on us. I had to ask him for a refill on my beer as he was walking by. When he brought the beer he never asked if my wife wanted another he just dropped off the beer. After 45 minutes of waiting for our food a table that came in 20 minutes after we ordered or pizzas got their food. I went and asked our server about our food and he said sorry they are busy. I said but that table came in the door 20 minutes after we ordered our food. He said sorry and I asked if we could have our food to go since my kids were breaking down. The server came and gave me the bill for the pizza and said he didn't charge us for our beer. After about 15 minutes my wife took the kids to the car. I was getting the rest of our stuff together and a different guy came up and said sorry about what had happened. I said I was waiting about 2 more minutes and we had to go. He went to see how long it was going to take. He came back and said that they were going to put our order in next. I said forget it I can't wait any more. We ordered our food at around 5:50 and we left with no food at 7:15. I will never go back. read more

Cool little brewery located in Berwyn, pretty easy to get to, about a mile or 2 off the harlem exit on I-55, they have more pale ales/darker beers. I got the beers eat bears, and the mia mela. Both good. They have a food menu too, they specialize in woodfire pizzas, and they also have some other options, but I didn't get to try them since I'd just ate, though I will say they looked good for sure. Pretty chill vibe, not too packed for a Saturday night. Staff was friendly, and plenty parking around the place. I'd be down to return. read more

This place is on point in every way. We stopped in because we like to eat and buy local whenever possible. This place is a gem in the Depot District, right next door to Peggy Rose for you locals. I'll break down the review into sections beginning with the space. Space: The restaurant has a very cool industrial feel and is nice and bright. There is a bar and tables for four that had nice spacing. The sound was not too loud at all and the music selections were old school punk rock that might have come right off of my iPhone. The TV behind the bar was showing the movie Rogue One...yes, a Star Wars movie and not sports. This was a pleasant surprise and I'm a huge sport fan. The place was clean and casual and ended up filling up with a lunch crowd even though it was early afternoon on a Saturday. It felt like a very friendly and familiar place even though it was out first time there. People: The server was very friendly and took her time to explain the beer selections and the pizzas. Her beer recommendations were excellent. We asked about the brewery in the back and she asked the owner, Paul, if he would be willing to show us where the magic happens. I am an amateur brewer and was very excited to see their set up. Although it is a small operation, it was set up nicely and very clean. He took the time to explain what he was up to and which beers they were brewing next. Very cool. I hope that as they grow, they can make a tour like this available to the interested because it was very fun. Beer: We tried a flight of four recommendations and all were so good. The blend of hops and the alpha acid levels of the brews were just so well balanced. The hop character was a part of the beer and not over-powering like so many ales these days. The drinkability of each from the stout to the low ABV Common was remarkable. They have a cream ale that I tried on the server's recommendation and loved it, and I do not like these sorts of beers generally. They have what look like 1/2 gallon jugs you can buy to take home called Growlers, but no pints yet. I sure hope that they get to that soon because there are a few that I'd love to have in my fridge at home. Definitely try a flight and then go back for the one that grabs you. Pizza: The Neapolitan style pizza was on point. The sauce is so rich and accented beautifully with garlic. Just like the beer, "balance" is the word of the afternoon. Not too acidic, not sweet, but not too spicy...it was just right. The crust is nice and flavorful with just the right amount of char on the bottom. The chef knows how to use that wood burning oven. It is a 13" pie that would feed two if you are doing some drinking, or in my case, was good for a very hearty meal for one. My wife doesn't like pizza...I know...but she loved their marinara pizza. It was pie dough covered in their rich sauce and sprinkled with garlic bits and no cheese. She told me that it was the best pizza experience she's ever had and wants to go back again. I've had the Neapolitan pizza they make at Eataly in the City, and Flapjacks' is just as good, if not better. All in all this is the best new place I've been to in some time. The beer, the pizza, the people, and the location are all assets that come together to make this a must try in the Near West Burbs. Parking is curbside and easy to find. The Depot District is becoming a vibrant destination for very good food and drink and is starting to serve as a real alternative to driving over to Oak Park or La Grange. To me, this place is symbolic of a Renaissance that is happening in Berwyn with new businesses coming in that are creating more opportunities for residents to remain in town to enjoy a day/evening out. That this place is owned and run by a couple of brothers who were born and raised in Berwyn makes this brew pub that much better! Give this place a try. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. read more

These folks are on the money. They're friends of mine (full disclosure) but if they sucked I'd tell them first then you. That said, the Saison is unforgettable, the pizza is a great light meal. Finally Berwyn (or should I say Beerwyn) is getting cool! Flapjack is a great little beer and pizza shop in the depot district. They literally only serve wood fired pizza and beer. The space is small and noisy but has a great charm. The service is always friendly and accommodating. The pizzas are a little bit steep for what you get, but they are good. Recommend the combo pizza highly. Parking in front is always easy and free. Awesome place to get some local Berwyn flavor! Try the beer samplers. read more
