We found a hidden gem last night in Sonora. Flappy's pizza! They have specials for $12. My husband ordered the brisket and jack cheese, corn dog. There must've been a half a pound of brisket rolled around the jack cheese, dipped in cornmeal and fried to perfection. I ordered the Stromboli as it turns out is much different than a Zamboni It was kind of like a calzone, but it was rolled up with pepperoni meatballs, and cheese like a giant Italian taquito. It was served with marinara sauce. We sat at the bar and had such a fun time talking to Robin the bartender and few other customers. The chef came and sat down at the bar and we were able to let him know just how wonderful the food was. We then had a giant slice of bananas foster cheesecake that the chef created. We have had two awful experiences. The first one was 10/2 where we stood at the window before waving someone down for 30 minutes. There's a guy who wears glasses and a bald guy behind the bar working. Both ignored everyone outside... they both looked at us. The guy with glasses even started bussing tables while there's a whole line of people outside. When we finally waved down the bartender guy he "helped us". Didn't apologize or anything for the wait, was extremely rude. We just came in tonight 10/4 at 9:30 pm where the 2 same guys were working but a girl also. We sat down and they all ignored us. When we asked about ordering the girl (who made eye contact with us several tiles and didn't say anything over come over) rolled her eyes and told us no. The attitude was honestly astounding. The first night was bad but tonight was mind blowing that you tell us no after we had been sitting waiting for someone to come to our table. As a customer and being ignored by staff makes me never want to come back which sucks because we have great experiences when the owners are there and the food is good. But I think it's important for owners to know the 3 employees that we came into contact with on Thursday and tonight are the reasons we probably won't be back. read more

People were awesome and very polite. Atmosphere is warm, pleasant and welcoming. I ordered two stacks of their churros doughnuts to go. I was not impressed in the taste of them. The oil that was used to fry them made them taste awful. They tasted as though they were fried in old dirty grease. This doesn't mean all their food will taste bad. I just know that the churros stacks isn't what I would recommend on getting. Although the dipping sauces for the stacks were good in flavor. While in town visiting some friends, we were walking around downtown Sonora and decided to stop into Flappy's for lunch. The inside of the place is decent sized with plenty of seating and a giant bar off to the side. There are also TV's to watch whatever game is being played at the time. It's a great place for some Thursday or Sunday Football! I ordered the Bloody Mary that came with some many garnishes - it was a meal in it of itself! Fried Ravioli, Chicken Strip, Fried Pickles, a Waffle and a Mozzarella Stick - everything tasted good too! I also ordered the Dill Pickle Tots which were so yummy, but also super filling - the serving was big enough to feed at least 4 people. Everyone else ordered a slice of different pizzas which they loved - one of my friends raved about the pizza that had grilled peaches on it. The service was fast and friendly! The only thing I would recommend is to make sure the server knows which pizzas are not available at the time of ordering rather than after the fact. This place is AMAZING! A definite stop if you are in the area!!!! All the food that my party and my self ordered was hot, fresh, and very tasty... the service was on point from the waiter, bar tender and even the people who dropped the food off. They have local craft beer there as well at TVs to watch sports or whatever they have on. They have many different pizza to order as well as sandwiches, salads, burgers, wings and others. You can order pizzas by the pie or by the slice. You can also choose a style of toppings and have that in or on a burger as well as a bed of tater tots. My wife went with the tomato garlic pesto pasta. It was good but needed a bit of salt, and I wondered why there were walnuts. If the walnuts were seasoned, I can see them adding to the overall dish. However, the bacon flight I had was GENIUS! I loved every single flavor. As for my meal, I couldn't decide on only one pizza so I went with three slices: the Chuck Norris, the Obi Wan Pepperoni and the White Trash. The three slices had a great crust. The pepperoni had a great flavor to them. The White Trash with chips was outstanding. And finally the Chuck Norris was awesome. Next time we go, we need to try their desserts. read more

Traveling though the area for the weekend and found this spot online. Ordered to go and really wanted to love this place because the service was exceptional and the workers were helpful and kind. However when we got back to our place we found our pepperoni slice was completely burnt at the bottom, and 2 of the other slices didn't appear burnt at all but were really difficult to bite through. Some chicken pieces were also very chewy. Despite this I enjoyed their Cluck Norris so if you find yourself here I'd say that slice is decent. I'd suggest checking your slices before you leave if you're ordering to go, or just eating there in person, maybe these slices are just meant to be eaten extremely fresh. read more

Oh my gosh!! we went in and decided to try the specials. The Gouda burger for me and the Tri Tip Nachos for the lady. I never expected the different levels of flavor and texture in the burger. From the spicy peppers, to the creamy cheese, the beautifully seasoned and cooked hamburger, and the pretzel bun. I love spicy, but the Dijon mustard really accents the entire flavor profile. And the nachos. I am not a fan of sweet potato fries and I am sure we could have asked to change to regular fries. When I tasted the combination of the fries with the sauce, jalapenos and, oh my gosh the pickled onions!!!, it all made sense, The tri tip is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I expected the serving size to be smaller with the price. When the waitress brought the food, I was amazed. Needless to say, it is two meals for us. We got there and stood in line for a table for 20 minutes and then were seated and waited another 30. The waiter went to a table that came in after us and took their order. I told him we were here first and he just said "so". I've heard the food is very good but we didn't waste anymore time there so we didnt get to find out. The pizza in the window was the enticement to go inside. And then it was a Christmas wonderland filled with the beautiful decor. We sat down and the menu was fabulous. We had the vegetable salad and then we shared some slices of pizza. It was all really good and our server, Talice, Was so sweet and awesome. We just love the place. And then they offered us a free dessert, which was crazy. Delicious. Come to find out that the owner, Mitchell, was sitting next to us the whole time incognito. I love hanging out at flappy pizza. This is where me and my friends used to drink, but I suggest not eating the pizza. I suggest eating the bread knots instead. They literally keep their pizza in a windowsill all day just so the outside world can see it and they give you some cold pizza, but it's a wonderful place to do karaoke on Friday night.
