Just had thanksgiving here as I am from out of town visiting family.... I know it's thanksgiving and the restaurant is busy with a lot of to go orders but this was terrible, besides the butternut squash soup (super good). Both my mother and my Turkey dinner came out cold which was unlike other dinners as I saw the steam coming from their food. I politely waited for 10 minutes to tell my waitress about the issue as she kept messing with computer system. Finally I felt I needed to say something so they wouldn't think it was due to us waiting so long. She said she would be over in a little another 5 minutes pass she takes our food and comes back with it after 4 minutes. They had just thrown our food in the microwave and was completely terrible. I hate to bring the issue up for a second time or be that customer as I thought they would of just brought us knew food so I ate it. I have been coming here for many years late night to see Mike, the Manager (he has since been fired). I have likely been here 200 times. I came in today at 4:45, ordered an iced coffee whilst waiting for a friend who came in at 5:10. The waitress refused to give us the "lunch special". I said," Forget it I'm not hungry now. My partner insisted that I eat." Then this boarderline rude day manager came to the table. Yawn! I told him the story, but he refused to tell me where the main office is located and who the owner was. I told him, " Forget it, I'll call the State of Florida Department of Corporations and get the information." It's so hard to obtain a layout customer and in many cases so easy to loose them. After The Rolling Stones concert our taxi driver brought us to this gem. It was packed, i was pretty sure the guy sitting beside me just got out of jail. Two police officers showed up, we thought there was going to be a take down lol but they were just there for the pie. By the way the concert was fabulous. Great place to go when everything is closed, your post party food to sober up. Biggest carrot cake I've ever seen, sadly I did not have a piece. When your checking out they sell 10 gummies bears for $1.00 lol. Our waitress was hilarious, overwhelmed by the Crowd from the concert, she said "please don't judge me". Very disappointing. Ordered takeout. No less than 4 people opened and looked at the food after it was prepared. Bread was not toasted, as requested. Lettuce was brown. Only about 1 tablespoon of coleslaw. And no pickle. Restaurant offered to remake the meal, but I was unable to go back. read more

If i could give this place ZERO stars i would. me and my friends went to this place and not only was the service HORRENDOUS, but the server DEMANDED high tip and refused to return change, and kept 50 dollars above what the check was originally. I love coming here because the food is delicious. As a local, I have experienced the service during the morning and late night. I have to applaud Tama's service. She is a morning server whom is sweet, kind, and hospitable. Though, just this evening the overnight staff were rowdy and beligerante. Upon being seated my boyfriend and I waited about ten minutes, I then alerted the staff. A young woman who seemed to be the lead server shouted: "who has table 30?" Everyone huddled around the counter blatantly did not want to give us service. Once someone decided to take us we quickly ordered. I ordered a strawberry Belgian waffle which came out with just strawberries and no whip cream, when I brought up the whip cream to the server she gave me an attitude as if I was the one who forgot the whip cream. Service took longer than usual and our server once we finished wished us a Merry Christmas. Her behavior was extremely erratic, like the rest of the overnight staff. The pancakes were just ok which is a death knell for a restaurant since my husband since loves pancakes. Like most places, you have to find what you like at a place. Some thing are always better than others. Even though the food was decent we will find a different diner to go to next. Service was excellent. After years of passing by I decided to give it a turn, seated quickly and ordered chicken noodle soup and a typical cheese burger and a pastrami on rye. Soup was out in a minute, bland, canned had more flavor and noodles were mushy. Didn't expect much for 6 bucks but whatever. Needing breakfast near Gulfstream I had pretty much settled on OHOP. Not that Flashback Diner didn't immediately come to mind, but I figured it would be too busy at 11am on a Saturday and wrote them off. However, driving past I noticed the parking lot was pretty empty so we did end up here instead. Flashback Diner is your quintessential diner, and for that I'd give 4 stars, but since the service wasn't quite right and the food took a while to come out (for a diner) I'll give them 3 stars. The issue with the service? Our server didn't seem to know the menu very well and had to come back a few times to put in all of my choices for some of the options included with my dish. FOOD My mom and my brother both got the Granola Crusted French Toast, with my mom getting the additional berries and yogurt option (on the side) and my brother getting 2 eggs to go along with his. I tried quite a few bites of this french toast (for research purposes lol) and I give it a big thumbs up! Really quite good and the extra crunch was great. I went with the Veggie Hash with whole wheat toast and my eggs served over easy to get that runny yolk mixed in with everything. Another solid dish and I walked away very happy! A local Florida favorite, Flashback Diner is definitely worth grabbing a drunk or hungover meal at if you're in the area. I can't comment on the non-breakfast options, but the menu was huge and their dessert display in the front was phenomenal looking! read more

Stopped by here when while out in Hallandale for work. It was suggested to go here for their Eggs Benedict. It worked out that I was in the area and I finally was able to eat here. I ordered their Belgian waffles with sausage and Eggs Benedict. The Belgian waffles was really fantastic but I think it had to do more with their syrup which was tasty. The sausages were solid. The eggs benededict were okay. Nothing really special. I wasn't fond of their hollandaise sauce. It tasty kinda off. Maybe it was kinda bland. There service was good and the people were nice. I liked that they had a tv in the booths, so I watched "Everybody loves Raymond". I was by myself so I didn't feel awkward just eating there. If I'm in the area I would stop by. I don't usually come to north Miami beach area but Chantelle and I were working at Exxxotica and haven't eaten ALL DAY. So she took me to this diner around aventura area, which I was very excited for. The last time I went to an old fashioned diner was over 10 years ago with my mom. I don't ever recall a night where the food wasn't good back then. When I stepped into Flashback, I was immediately appeased by the sight of GINORMOUS dessert cakes at the front by the register. Super original diner feels I was really craving angel hair pasta but they didn't have any, which appalled me because they had shrimp scampi. They have shrimp scampi but not even a basic spaghetti or Alfredo dish? That's fine though, maybe it's just not in high demand in this particular area. They have an excellent $25 deal where you choose an entree, a soup or salad, a drink, AND dessert. so I went with the shrimp scampi to fulfill my pasta craving. That shrimp scampi was a LOT better than I expected. I was expecting some mediocre, "okay", tasting pasta. But for a diner... flashback exceeded my expectations. It wasn't too buttery, the garlic and butter ratio was blended well. Also, the shrimps were HUGE. Not little shrimps.. No they gave big shrimps and there were about 6 pieces of them too. This is my favorite diner to come to in South Florida. You never have to worry if they are open. They are ALWAYS open. The breakfast fare is always good. The eggs are fresh and the coffee is hot. They make a good french toast too. The veggie burger here is very tasty and full of real veggies. I always get mine with grilled onions and fries. It's large and good to the last bite! The staff is always friendly and there is a large population of regulars so it has that comfortable feel to it. Late night or early morning it's sure to be an interesting place to people watch. Make sure you leave enough room for dessert. They have a case of cakes and cookies as you walk in. Go have a look. The cakes are mile high tasty and like everything on the menu, affordable. I come here a lot because they operate 24/7 and the food seldom changes. It's a step above their other location and what makes this joint special for me is the night manager, Mike; what a lovely person he is. His attention to detail is perfect and he remembers all of his customers with hearty bonhomie. Rare in today's "wrap em up and get em out" culture. It's always relaxed and never rushed and the menu is large and available if not always perfect, but what do you want at 5:00 am when it's jam packed. Well, management fired Mike, the perfect host for late nite, so despite the fact that I am fond of the girls who serve here I shall be finding my arse parked more at Mickey Byrne's and the Upper Deck. The staff is friendly and attentive, food is served promptly and the menu has quite a few options. Ooh ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask for more of that knotted roll! This time we had: pan seared salmon (with spinach & rice), 1/2 baked chicken (with rice & mixed veggies), southern fried chicken (with mashed potatoes & mixed veggies), chocolate & red velvet cake. Thoroughly impressed with all three options. The portions are bigger than we normally eat so we go 2 meals for the price of 1. #sweet! Saturday 7:15 PM party of 4 the 2 salads ordered were ok but they forgot the onions in one. i have more or less given up on western omelets because no on sautés the onions and peppers but they said they did on the menu. they do but unfortunately I had to hunt for the peppers onions and ham...Basically an overdone omelet with two small chucks of ham and a few bits of peppers and onions. I also ordered home fries which basically were boiled potatoes with paprika .If it hit the flattop it was only while my omelet was dying. My other friend ordered a turkey club without the center slice of bread, why not just order a turkey blt! but that's the way he did it. It comes out with maybe 2 slices of turkey and a half a slice of tomato. It goes back to the kitchen comes out a second time with the turkey in the front shaped like a V and you could see 1/3 of the bread with nothing on it ...they also forgot the bacon. We got to the table right away and sat next to a group of people that began singing. You will see their business card on the billboard at the entrance. They started singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" right there. I had no complaints and Ralph seemed to enjoy it. The waitress didn't see that and apologized anyway. We were okay with it really. lol, I don't know about any of you tolerating this but it made out night less boring. I asked for the big Greek salad with the chicken added to it.. since it was less oily for me. I don't order their breakfast unless I didn't eat anything all day. The salad also included two stuffed grape leaves, which was cool. Ralph ordered his chicken with a side and his took a little while. But, we'd still give her thumbs up for showing courtesy and attention through out the order. How could we forget the sugar-free chocolate cake? It was the same cake we ordered for our wedding as a 2nd one, since the reception refused to make it. Can't believe I just enjoyed the most finger lickin' good, soul food tasting breakfast at a Greek diner... in East Florida! My steak "hash" was a large, ceramic skillet filled with nicely seasoned home fries and topped with a tender slab of chicken fried steak drizzled in white gravy. A fluffy fried egg made a beautiful covering. Side of fresh melons and strawberries. Buttered English Muffin (although biscuits would've taken this meal to even higher heights.) As far as diners go, I've had better. I was going to get a burger till I saw one served across the aisle. Didn't look juicy, so I chose instead a half corned beef sandwich on rye, with a cup of matzoh ball soup and a side of potato salad. The soup was bland, the matzoh ball fluffy but lacking character. My sandwich wouldn't pass muster at Carnegie Deli, and the potato salad .... meh. ("You didn't like the potato salad?" our waitress asked. "I know, it's not that great" she added.) Went here based on high reviews. This is my first ever yelp review. It's not good. I am not sure why it has so many reviews. I got the fried chicken. It took forever which I understand sometimes with fried chicken. The breast was ice cold in center. The mashed potatoes were awful. In all tasted like nursing home food. I got a side of macaroni and cheese it was decent. My son got Chicken fried steak. He ate it but said if McDonald's served chicken fried steak he would expect it to be like that. Being that my boyfriend and I live less than 5 minutes away, we decided to make a stop here this past weekend after a night in Downtown Miami, and it didn't disappoint. I'm not much of a burger or patty melt kinda gal, but the cook that made my Patty melt deserves a gold star because it was deliciously greasy, cheesy, and toasty - the perfect combination to help refuel at 3am.
