Wasn't expecting to come here tonight at all. Had plans of going elsewhere to eat but all the places were packed with of a wait time of at least an hour. With a 3 year old that doesn't work for me. Hadn't been here in years. Decor was a lil outdated but I mean it is called Flashback Diner. Not a huge menu but it is comfort food at its finest. I had the King of club sandwich with fries. Simple yet flavorful sandwich. You can tell the tomato was fresh bacon was crispy and turkey was thick cut. Over very great sandwich. I used to go to Flashback Diner now and then a few years ago. The food was fair, nothing great, but warranted return visits. I went recently and the food was not good. I had an open-face turkey dinner with mash potatoes, stuffing and green beans. The turkey was dry and tasteless and the gravy was not good. I also did not like the potatoes, stuffing or green beans. The small cranberry sauce was the one saving grace. The portion size was very good, but a waste of food as I ate very little. My husband had a corned beef sandwich which was also questionable regarding taste. The bread was not good either. They have a very large menu with so much to choose from, but I don't think I'll be going back because the meal lacked taste and consisted of low quality ingredients. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I did want to share my feedback because dining out can be expensive and you hope to get what you pay for by enjoying your meal. This spot was terrible. Our waitress was super slow and not attentive.... we ordered 2 chicken and waffles and none of us finished our food. It sucked...like the chicken had no taste , oily and dry. I do not recommend anyone to come here if your super hungry and starving. I really am disappointed. Hubby's pick today as we needed to eat before doing errands. Been here many times over the years consistently great food and average South Florida service. Today I was more in a deli mood so I had the lunch special bowl of matzo ball soup with noodles and a half of a turkey on rye bread and Russian dressing served on the side, it came with both potato salad,cole slaw and a pickle spear. Too much food but everthing was delicious $10.95. Also had an iced tea with lemon $2.95. Hubby had a western omelete served with shredded hash browns with a side of sausage for an additional $4. To drink he had lemonade and he got one to go at no additional charge. I was tempted by the sweets at the register and got a black and white cookie to go. Neither of us will be hungry again today that's for sure. We will definitely be back again. read more

The food unfortunately seems to have declined since covid hit. The prices are most likely to blame for the lack of patrons as I had a burger and fries and a coffee for $20. With tip $25. Do not order for takeout. The girl at the front is an incompetent moron. My order came out and it was placed in the counter right next to her and I was sitting right in front her. My first Rosh Hashanah (but I am not Jewish) dinner at Flashback with my elderly friend (she is Jewish) and my first at a restaurant having a traditional Jewish new year meal. I enjoy this place very much for Belgium waffles mostly but we decided to try this place for this special price dinner of $29.95 which you get appetizer, a glass of wine, a loaf of challah bread and many choices from each category. I apologize ahead of time for I am going to bosh up the spelling of these dishes and names as well as giving my opinion of the food for I am not sure what they are supposed to taste like but I am offering it as a "real-time" opinion as I was having them. Since my friend couldn't eat much we decided to split the meal and added a bowl of matzo soup to our bill which was the best idea. So, even when we split everything, I still felt full. I just cut everything down the middle (except for the 4-later) chocolate glazed with chocolate ganuche which I had to take the rest home (it became 3-later but still couldn't finish the dessert). This is what we were served: Appetizer: granny apples with honey and gefilte fish (Chicken liver was an option and don't think these are my cup of tea), A glass of sweet red wine to start off the sweet new year, A loaf of challah bread (it was heated up in the microwave oven so it was chewy) Matzo ball in chicken noodle soup (my friend didn't want the noodles but I loved t with noodles and a big fat matzo in the center of this tiny bowl), Beef brisket with asparagus and a potato kugel (this was a bit dry). For dessert which we had a choice of apple strudel and other yummy sweets like honey cake but they were out of apple strudel so the waitress gave us the 4-later chocolate cake instead. She would have gotten in trouble for substituting the menu dessert but since we waited a bit for her service, she said not to tell her boss. I said ok. I thought since there are so much dessert left in their dessert counter, what is one slice of the 4-layer chocolate cake do? Believe me, no one would have known that only one slice was gone (or maybe it was the last piece of the cake which can be cut up to 16 slices of 4-layers mind you, we didn't mind at all. Since I base my reviews relative to what kind of restaurant it is and circumstance peripheral to why I'm eating there Flashback Diner deserves north of 3 stars! But being caught early in the morning and wearing pre-beach chancletas in Aventura, I was looking for my breakfast staples of eggs Benedict and strong coffee on my Yelp app and Flashback came up. My grandmotherly looking waitress kept the bottomless American coffee coming, and even took a picture of me working on my gigantic short stack of pancakes. Yeah for customer service! The eggs benny and home fries plate came rather promptly, with three pieces of muffin, Canadian bacon and tart, creamy hollandaise. All was to my liking, from consistency to presentation. The short stack had nothing about "short", as I ended up having to take more than half of them for later. Fresh strawberry sliced over soft pancakes decorated with whipped cream made for a quick sweet closure of breakfast. It's obvious as soon as you walk into the flashback Diner that things have changed over the years. The first thing you used to notice was the mass amount of beautiful huge desserts as you entered. Now it just feels like what it would be like if Sysco opened up a diner. The menu was uninspiring even for a diner. Service was very bad with the exception of the busboy that I saw busting his ass. Charlotte was our waitress, she is a sweetheart. She loves the people that own this restaurant. During the Covid crisis while this restaurant was closed they worked diligently to make sure the whole place was torn apart and cleaned. Everything redone including the menu. But the menu still has everything on it that used to be there except 3 things. The owners of this restaurant really put a ton of love into this business. It is beautiful inside. Clean as can be and the staff follow health code. Food was excellent! The bread, the coffee awesome, perfect experience. They should update the hours on this site bc it says it's closed. Seems like a place families go there everyday weekends. It was packed when we got there. Customers know the waitresses and v.v. Atmosphere is very hospitality. We ordered latte and cappuccino. Taste good I ordered egg Benedict with smoked salmon and bf ordered with ham. They are really delicious. Our waitress is very friendly and thoughtful. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would.. I'm actually shocked that this place has customers. I ordered the 2-2-2 (2 eggs, 2 bacon, French toast) for $12.99 and my boyfriend ordered the flashback dinner combo that was basically the same plate as mine but he took the "pancake" and the only difference was his had "1 more piece of bacon" for $15.99. He asked for an extra pancake because his plate only came with "1" and the server punched an entire extra order of pancakes so he got 2 on his plate and an extra stack of 3 which we were charged for. I went to cut open my over-easy eggs down the middle of the two and a bunch of water poured out of the eggs and went all over my plate. There was no way I was eating that and why is there tons of water coming out of the eggs?? I showed the waitress who then said she'd bring me two more, and when I got those, they were barely cooked. At that point I was grossed out and was not going to eat them. I ate the 2 cold pieces of bacon and moved on to the 2 pieces of French toast that were cut in half. It looked like they just painted the sides of bread with egg, left them for a few minutes so they were mushy and served them to me with a bit of icing sugar. Everything was cold, my boyfriends pancakes tasted salty like they were just cooked on the same stovetop as something else with spices. I don't understand why everything was undercooked. I was so frustrated and disgusted that a place would serve food like that to people that we decided to ask for the cheque, which was $49.50, and then when we paid on card, the card machine had tip options at 18% which is $9 freaking dollars, 20% and 25%. ARE THEY CRAZY?! They are feeding people disgusting food and think it's okay. This place should be out of business for the food quality. Not to mention the huge waste of food. I wrote this place off like 20 years ago, dont really remember why but most likely because it was not rememberable. Lately, Ive been coming here for breakfast with my kids and Im a born-again fan! I usually get egg whites and hashbrowns with a side of toast. Pretty hard to screw that up. Service is generally good and Ive never had an issue or had to wait to sit, even when its super busy. The place is right across the street from Gulfstream and has plenty of parking. Its a diner. Its got a big menu. Its much better drunk or hungover but its good when you are not also. This place takes zero pride in the food that they serve. My husband ordered a hot open turkey. The turkey was dried around the edges and thrown on the plate over boxed stuffing that was dried out and tasteless. I have never seen a Diner serve a hot open turkey that looked like this. They gravy was watery and gross.. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken. I do not think it was chicken. I am not even sure what it was. My daughter wanted a vegetable omelette. It was so watery on the inside it was not cooked through. She requested ham in the omelette and they forgot that. The place was dirty. I come here all the time. I've had breakfast and lunch here and both times excellent. For breakfast I usually I have the French Pancakes. It's pancakes with Nutella spread bananas and walnuts. I substitute the bananas for strawberries and it is just so good that I ate most of it before I took the picture to upload here. For lunch I usually I have a plain burger comes with fries and it gets the job done. Tastes like a real burger should taste, nice and juicy. Their strawberry cheesecake is also a must try. The staff is always a,axing no matter which waitress I get they are always sweet and knowledgeable about the menu or what the specials are. It's open 24 hours so you can come whenever. read more

The cilantro lime chicken was very flavorful and a nice portion. I would recommend it.

Haven't been here on a year or more and it has gone down hill. The fried chicken was good but very small for 16 dollars and the sides were boring. The service was awful. Hardly anyone in the place and took about 10 minutes before we could order. Didn't refill drinks until we flagged her down. Didn't check on us. Very inattentive. Basically decent food at a high price with bad service. Everything is really expensive for what you get. We won't be back. read more
