Came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Birthday party had a good time but here is my own personal review since although I had expectations of this place to be a favorite of mine, it fell short. Nice enough place to go after dinner which we didn't, so no food at this pub. And our Joey's Pizzeria delivery order of 2 pizzas was burnt. They also forgot a salad and the dipping sauce for breadsticks. This I didn't complain cause should've known better to eat before entering. Karma worked it's magic. I mean can't expect much from a weak bar suggestion. Nice that this establishment supports other business around them though. Atmosphere and setting is great. Games a plenty to keep you busy although hand sanitizer even a big jug of it at tables would be a great idea cause the games are slimy and makes one wonder if they get a wipe down at close of business, I'm guessing not. The bar for me was trash but I'm not into microbreweries, especially ones without a full bar. While on the subject of the bar, weak snowcone like fruity drinks dressed up with sonic ice did not impress this bar snob. When asked for patron, well there was none. Not a place for dancing, which I knew. Dance floor is so small pretty much nonexistent. The music although was 80's retro was mixed horribly. I grew up in the 80's and they even had better mixes then. You did not spin me right round baby right round. Came expecting to love an establishment but left disappointed. Dove's cried in the purple rain. Love the idea. It does get crowded on a Saturday night but the crowd didn't bother me nor was the bartending awful, I mean they worked with what they had. Actually 2 stars for me but gave them 3 for the whole microbrewery selection. People who like domestic and high end liquor move on cause it's not here. Need a place to be low key and relax with games a plenty, this is your place, just bring sanitizer. read more

I love FlashBack for the experience. They have lots of fun, FREE games to play, and they host lots of really cool themed events (80's proms, Star Wars parties, etc). Their cocktails are NOT my favorite - WAY too sweet for me. If I go, I usually don't go for the drinks but for the atmosphere. It's a lot of fun! read more

FlashBack definitely fills the OKC niche for an 80's-themed bar. As everyone has already said, it has unlimited free arcade games, which is cool if you're into that. I was impressed by their craft beer selection, with decent prices. Didn't try their cocktails. My friends and I showed up relatively early on a Friday, and happened to beat the cover charge. That's my one complaint. I'm not used to covers in OKC unless you're in Bricktown. I, personally, am not a big enough 80's fan to *need* to go to FlashBack, and probably won't go back because of the cover. Games were awesome. Music was awesome. Female bartender on 4/29 was rude and seemed to not enjoy her job. Male bartender threw away friends drink without asking...when he was playing a game. Would love to have a party here for my friends born in the 80s. If said bartenders weren't working. read more

On 6/22/17 we attempted to visit this location at 11:50, entered and were informed the location was closing at midnight although the hours stated it would be open until 2 am. I wish I could have had the opportunity to stay. We excitedly drove across OKC to get there, but we weren't happy about it closing earlier than the hours stated. I understand things happen, but unfortunately I don't live in OKC so I will most likely not be coming back. read more

Best place to start the night out off! 80's themed and the atmosphere is always great. There are always people there and they have different themes parties as well as arcade league nights. Love this place! Bartenders are fun and upbeat throughout the whole night. Plus who wouldn't want great drinks and free arcade games! Nothing beats that. They have a DJ and I believe they are in the process of doing an 80's trivia night. Come and get your 80's fill! See if you can be the next high scorer! read more

If you've been here and used a credit/debit card check your account and then block this business from making charges. I was charged a random amount the day after I came here. The bar itself, aside from whatever moron is processing cards, is ok. The free game play is really fun, the music is 80s, and the specialty drinks are good (try the Nerds). Just pay with cash. The drinks are WAY overpriced, so I would definitely recommend pregaming at home or somewhere else before coming. The $5 cover charge on a Friday night wasn't that bad since we played more than that in free games. But the $5 plus drinks really, really quickly adds up. read more

Easily the worst shots I've ever had. But to be fair, that wasn't entirely the staff's fault - we were ordering off of the menu, and they were just following recipes. The staff looked like they hated their lives (I hated mine at the time, too). The music wasn't loud enough to drown the sound of the all-encompassing silence. No one here is actually having fun, and if they say they are, then you need new friends. I truly, honestly hated every second here. I don't hate most places with alcohol. My fiancée and I are visiting from Atlanta and wanted to go to a place that was very different and fun. A friend recommended this 80's bar called Flashback and it was such a great time. The cover was $5 but the games were all free and the drinks were reasonably priced. The DJ was playing some of the best and the bartenders were really cool. Although my lady isn't a huge fan of video games, we had a blast and will certainly visit again. read more

Some guy named jose wouldnt stop hitting on me and my friends, made us very uncomfortable. When we asked for the manager, he claimed he was the manager and owner. Didnt even know how to make a jager bomb. Half the games werent working. Drinks were way over priced. read more

There are only two types of people that won't enjoy FlashBack RetroPub. The first is Mr. Millionaire, who can afford all of these fabulous toys in his fancy mansion, and has a butler that doubles as a bartender, making the perfect drink every time. The second is your friend who never lets their inner child out. That person who you couldn't imagine wearing a T-shirt with an 80s rock band on it, much less spending an evening competing for a high score on a game that is older than either of you. Both of these people would be incredibly uncomfortable at a bar where the staff is ultra-friendly, the bar is well stocked and the video games are free. The latter of which are surprisingly well-maintained, considering the age of the systems they've amassed. The whole venue has a New York City loft feel, but without the attitude that you would expect to accompany it. In fact, you'll find that the staff is extremely friendly to the newcomers, and knows how to treat the people who "just want to get their game on." Either way, you'll quickly find yourself uncontrollably dancing to the 80s jams, immersed in the retro gaming systems, or just admiring the memorabilia, such as the Back To The Future hover board that casually sits behind the bar. Rumor is, there's a secret room that's members-only. So, if you do get Mr. Millionaire to come out to this establishment, have him buy you the annual membership that's required to gain access to this exclusive VIP room. But even if you can't get him to go to FlashBack RetroPub, bring all your other friends and enjoy the ambiance that made the 80's sooooooo totally tubular. read more

My new favorite spot. Great atmosphere and game selection for avid gamers such as myself, excellent playlist (though I do with that Wham!'s "Jitterbug" would come on about half as many times than it does. Not a knock on the establishment, but that song really presses my buttons after hearing it for about the 6th time). As other reviewers have expressed, yes, the drinks are a bit more expensive than other bars in Oklahoma City, but imo, that is to be expected when you can game for FREEEEEE!!!!!! My only knock is that the difficulty to Mortal Kombat II must be set a little high. I consider myself to be a Mortal Kombat II professional, and when I get my ass waxed by Kitana because she knows when I'm gonna jump/duck and pretty much read my mind, I'd say it's time to tone the difficulty down a little bit. Maybe they just do that to encourage human vs human gameplay? idk. The bar staff is amazing as well. They've got a really cute red head that tends bar there, I really wanna ask her to the Pretty in Pink 80s Prom that they're hosting next weekend but in reality I'm probably gonna chicken out because I'm a coward. Which is probably why I want the Mortal Komabt II difficulty to be lowered to in the first place. But that's neither here nor there, if you grew up playing 80s/90s video games, then this is your spot. This place isn't everyone's cup of tea, and it definitely doesn't try to be, but you'd have to be mad crazy to not at least give it a shot, no pun intended read more

Upon being there for 5 minutes my two friends ordered two mixed drinks. I watched with my own eyes the bartender pour them straight water/straight cranberry. When I asked her to actually put a shot in there she VERY RUDELY told me there was a TON of vodka in there. Ha OK. So my friends and I debated on where to go next because obviously we are not going to pay $7 for a cranberry juice and water. After asking again for at least another drink since we had just ordered one another male bartender said that we were cut off (we had been there maybe 7 minutes so far and were not acting out in any way) and needed to leave. So we walked ourselves to the front. The bouncer (who was the owner) tried his best to make things work and keep us there, but at that point we were completely turned off and just wanted to leave. Of course, we get to the next bar and realize that I had left my card... We return later on that night to get it and the same male bartender was arguing with a very sweet older lady (surprise, he's a catch! Ha) and was not nice AT ALL to me. To make a longer story short, if you want horrible service and even worse (alcohol-less) drinks for a sub-par 40 year old male bar go there. You'll love it! read more

I am a huge gamer and lover of 80s music, so naturally I thought this bar would be the number one spot that I would frequent. Music plays a big part in where I decide to go out. This club's DJ has little-to-no sense of 80s music. I requested The Smiths, and the DJ asked if they were an 80s band! (#hangtheDJ) It was pretty insulting. I just couldn't believe an 80s themed bar would hire a DJ who isn't familiar with 80s music. The music is also pretty loud, so it's not like I could ignore it while I play AWESOME arcade/retro games (they even have an N64 you can rent out! Woo hoo! 4 player Mario Kart!). :\ I would totally visit this place more often if the music was better. read more
