Overpriced. I personally feel it's a scam. I spent 41$ on two small drinks. Which didn't even seem to have any liquor in it. Then my friend ordered the same exact 2 drinks and they charged her 50$ for the same exact two drinks. So BUYER BEWARE!! It's not a problem if you have the money and don't look at how much you spend. Great place for good drinks and music. Came here for my very first time and I can't wait to come back again. There was a group of us celebrating a birthday and had to do table service. We went with the Don Julio tequila. You can't go wrong with tequila. I went with the whiskey drinks. Pour some honey on it was a fruity whiskey drink which was pretty good. I also had a moscow mule drink with whiskey. It was good as well, but I prefer the other drink. I also had a shot called "lick my chile" - yum! Love love these shots. They are shots with cucumber infused vodka and some other yumminess with it. It goes down smooth. The DJ was playing some great music. You can't help but get up and dance. They played a great variety of music. You will find yourself singing along with songs that take you back to your younger years. The service was great ar first, but not as great when it became busier. My server was Samantha who was fighting over the other bartenders for tips in front of all the customers. They also charge my card for amounts that were not on my bill the following day. This place is a hidden gem in whittier. For all those 80's & 90's babies. This place is for you, great music perfect place to unwind after a week of work. Great for a happy hour perfect to celebrate a birthday. If you want to get a table come early otherwise you will be standing up the whole night. The place gets packed & no one leves their table. I love that their is no time limit on the table like other places, the servers know you're there for dinner and later on to have fun. I recommend you get a bucket of beer and a plater. The food is not that great but you want something that's going to last you until dinner is over. The prices for the food and beer are a little high, but then again everything is high price now days. so you get more bang for your buck with a platter & the bucket. I went on a Saturday. To celebrate my birthday, Dinner time on a Saturday is from 6pm-9pm. After dinner is over the light go out, the DJ starts playing, more people are let in & it instantly becomes a night club, it's a whole new place. I recommend if your planning on going dancing take a sweater or something you could leave on your table that way people know it's taken otherwise believe me, someone will take your table. The best place to sit is on the high chairs or anywhere up against the wall. Don't sit on the tables on the dance floor. You will be literally eaten up surrounded by so many people. Once dinner time is over. The dance floor gets pack literally no place to move but it's fun! If you celebrating anything any occasion they do let you take in balloons, cake & decorations. People are very friendly & welcoming. Don't expect good service after dinner is over since the place gets pack & they are very busy & that's why I took off a star I waited over 20min for a drink & when the server finally brought it, it was the wrong drink, he still wanted to charge me for it. They charge us twice saying one of the charges were a hold and will be returned back to our account. It has been a week and I finally had to dispute the charge. A hold what is that!!! Your responses only reinforce my concerns. I've been coming to Flashbackz for a few years now and I've never experienced such negativity as I did on Saturday night. It was so uncomfortable, but because we were there to celebrate Stephanie's birthday and we were surrounded by good friends and good music, we stayed until 10pm. What happened to all the nice people that worked there 8 months ago. The vibe changed. You keep asking why we stayed if the service was bad. The answer is simple: We came to dance and enjoy the DJ--not to be mistreated. Enjoying parts of the night doesn't excuse the poor customer service we experienced. You say your not calling any of us liars yet continue to contradict us and claim to have surveillance footage to "prove your side." That's unnecessary and intimidating. A customer expressing concerns shouldn't be met with surveillance threats or sarcasm like "so let's see if that will happen." Instead of acknowledging how your tone and approach may have come across, you continue to blame guests--saying things like "you want to cry about it" and suggesting we think we're above the rules. That's not how hospitality works. Policies are fine, but respectful communication matters more. Your response lacks accountability and professionalism. No one asked for special treatment--we asked to be treated with respect. You keep saying you're accommodating, yet your words suggest otherwise. The fact that multiple people from our group had the same experience should say something. We've moved on, and like you said, there are other places that will value their guests. I hope this feedback gives you a chance to reflect, because great music won't cover for poor customer treatment in the long run. read more

DJ Shock was spinning. 80s was already playing when we arrived until about 10:45pm. Then 90s started with 80s still in rotation. Would have liked 90s to have been mixed in earlier. Ambience: A fun vibe. This is the place you go when you want to DANCE to 80s/90s music. Love the murals on the wall. Like really good murals of music artists! Love love love that they play the music videos while the song is playing. That was so entertaining!! If you don't like the current song you can at least watch the video and be entertained. Rules: I strongly suggest you call ahead to ask about their policies and frankly don't go if you're the type of person that doesn't like to be told what to do. READ THE DRESS CODE POLICY ahead of time! They have a weird no-standing policy that made my party feel uneasy. We were a party of about 12. The hostess found a table with 7 chairs and let the 6 of us that were already there in. (the other people were finding parking). Once inside we were standing, getting situated and looking at the menu. The waitress then informed us that we have to either be sitting down in a chair or dancing on the dance floor, no standing. She was not rude about it, but it was off putting. She also said that once it's 10pm we are free to stand on the side of the table where the dance floor is. I assume we couldn't stand on the other side to keep a walk way open for staff and others. The other half of my party had to wait outside until 10pm, because there were no more seats available and well... no standing! Staff: A matter of fact, straight to the point staff. No one was rude to us, but if you're the type that wants to feel catered to, this ain't the place. There's the menu, find what you want, order! Oh and they require a card to be put down to start any orders for the table to be kept. Parking: At around 9pm most street parking was taken. Parking lots are available in the vicinity. Street parking is free after 8pm. Security: They are on it!!! I think safety is a top concern at this establishment and that is why there are so many rules and they are sticklers for the rules. We had an issue with a drunk man trying to dance with the ladies and a drink had spilled making the dance floor slippery. I told one security guard about both things, and immediately he took action to address both things. The security guard informed another guard about the floor and walked personally over to the drunk guy to address him. The floor was immediately wiped down and yellow caution signs put up. The drunk guy, I don't even know what the hell happened to him, but didn't see him anymore. That was some immediate action that I absolutely loved and made us feel as though this place really cared for our safety. Second time dinning and I love it here! I'm sure I'll be a regular. Came to watch the dodger game and have a few drinks and there are like ten TVs huge plus The staff is friendly and Lex was amazing, quick and attentive they took my order super quick. The beer is super cold and the wings were delicious. I found parking along the side street pretty close by. Even with a large group they managed to seat us pretty quick with no problem. I have to say this is a great place for a Tuesday night date or Friday night turn up. Love the music! And the wall art is awesome, they definitely went above and beyond with all the details here. I've never been to a bar/lounge and was told where to sit. Manager Marie is so RUDE. Had so many rules. Couldn't go inside wearing flip flop sandals. Yet I saw several wearing them. Female cocktail waitress had rude attitude. I didn't appreciate adding gratuity onto my bill. The service did not render a tip. I went here last night and the Configuration of this place is a bit different. There's no room to dance on the dance floor! I'd say max ppl is approx 40-50ish but you have 3-4 xs that many ppl who can't even make it to the floor. Musics great, drinks looked good (I don't drink) the ambiance was cool! Last night we are at the location about 11pm, but security stated it is at max capacity. Which I was looking at the entrance I saw numerous pocket holes and crowd was moving. Still he did not allow us inside then few minutes went by he allowed numerous people enter.I did send message through Instagram and got back to me per flyer must get in by 8pm. Came in last night with a large group of family and friends to celebrate a birthday. We had high hopes for this spot as it has an 80s throwback theme, and custom cocktails to match. Unfortunately the concept is the star of the show, and the poor execution is the sad reality you get when you show up. For starters, we were greeted with sarcasm and rudeness by both the owner and our waiter. It took an act of congress to get us an extra table and chairs, when there were clearly many free tables around. The drinks are excessively sweet, probably to mask the poor quality of the alcohol. Or to send you into a diabetic coma. Food is sad... We ordered Jalapeño popers and they went largely untouched. I can make a better version blindfolded. Also, separate checks are apparently too complicated for their cashiering system, which must also be an 80s throwback. Verdict: See you on Bar Rescue! read more

I went here last week and overall we had a good time and luckily we found a table. It was pretty crowded and we didn't want our table taken so we took turns dancing with my friends. Another concern is the women restroom. The line is ridiculous and I suggest that they make the restrooms gender neutral because there's a 15-20 min wait for the women restroom and the men restroom was empty. Towards the end of the night the women restroom was disgusting and no one was really going to check on it for maintenance needs. Also, they say it closes at 1am but they turn off the music at 12:45pm and start taking everyone out. The drink's overall were good but the cups were so small and disposable kind so it almost felt like a ripoff. Maybe bar rescue needs to come in and support with the setup and operations. Or they just need a larger location. Might return with the girls so we'll see. I didn't have a problem with service or bar tenders. Service was good and the security was nice when asking us to leave. read more

Came here this Saturday, after being next door listening to some live bands and wanting to dance. LOL. So no cover to get in which is great, and dress code is somewhat lax which was also good. Now when i think flashbacks, not sure but i think 80's alternative music. This was not 80's, but more cha cha, hiphop, with a touch of house music. Overall good ambiance with a good mix of people. By 11pm, it was standing room only, so be ready to stand around since no drinks on the dance floor. Only gripe was the high priced drinks.. So come drunk already. lol read more

First time at Flashbackz Lounge & Grill. Went for a friends birthday and to watch the football game. It is a pretty big place, very long and narrow. A lot of seating options - outdoor tent, outdoor patio and inside with dance floor. Music and entertainment is good. They have celebrity look alikes Michael Jackson! The drinks are very creative. I really enjoyed the anything for Selena's. Their food is okay, simple. All I ate was an appetizer, Buffalo Fries. The staff was kinda rude. Particularly the door staff , they aren't welcoming. No hello, welcome. We sat in the tented area - eating and drinking while we waited for our party. Sitting next to us, was a guy highly under the influence of some kind of drugs. He was fighting with the chairs, and talking to himself. But he continued ordering drinks from their bar. It was strange. It seems like a spot for a lot of locals. read more

Whether or not I was part of the original reservation is beside the point--the review was based on my direct experience as a paying guest. Instead of addressing the issues raised--like inconsistent enforcement of policies, poor attitude from staff, and a defensive tone from management--you've chosen to double down by making further assumptions, airing grievances about guests, and comparing a hospitality business to your living room. A successful lounge should be able to enforce policies while still offering a respectful and welcoming environment. Hospitality is not just about music and food--it's about how people are treated. Responding to customer concerns with sarcasm, personal attacks, and blaming only reflects poorly on the business itself. It's quite obvious you are only successful because of a good concept and location, otherwise you would be out of business....next time you get a bad review maybe apologize (right of wrong) for your customers having a bad experience and not bad mouth them...you could have said your peace and explained your position without being so rude. My family and i used to go weekly to your place and now we will think twice and let others know of our experience...you obviously don't care and you will ultimately learn the hard way. This place is great if you're looking to watch some sports and hang out and enjoy a good beer and good food. We had the colossal lollipop chicken wings and the chips and guacamole with salsa. Everything was great I do have to say that the lemon pepper wings were too salty but we're cooked perfectly. The wings come with five wings but trust me it's a meal in itself they're huge.
