We were concerned with the mixed reviews on yelp, but we gave it a shot since there seemed to be few non- chain nice options in Jackson. We were very pleasantly surprised. The eggplant was the best I have had and my husband loved the pizza. House salad was fresh and tasty. Good, prompt service. So much food we had enough for lunch the next day. read more

About the only upscale place in Jackson. Although it's a bit pricey, the food is typically great! I've gone here a lot for work functions and I will say that the quality of their food does vary at times. I tend to stay with a steak or the Santos Chicken. read more

I wish I could give this joint negative stars. I have nothing good to say at all. Food is way over priced.. The drinks are weak. The service is terrible.There was even a dispute over a two drink bar tab that I paid with a $100 bill and received no change.Then another member of the party was charged for the 2 drinks i paid $50 apiece for. Do yourself Favor and avoid the Fu*kIron Grill. I wouldn't eat here again if my stomach was eating itself and this sorry excuse for a restaurant was the only one open on the planet read more

Two trips to Jackson and ate here on each trip. I think it is safe to assume one of the few upscale restaurants in town and the food definitely meets that expectation. Filet could literally be cut with a fork and was perfectly prepared. Fried green tomatoes with marinara very good. Ambience good although could use some fabric and walls to break up the room and tone down the industrial feel. Something to block the rush of cold air from the front door would be good. read more

They have made changes to their menu (although they hadn't updated their website). They took what was an excellent chopped steak off the menu. Lamb chops were less than tender. Service was slow. This used to be our favorite restaurant in Jackson now I'm not sure it's worth the money. read more

My husband and I had been to the Flatiron Grille several times in the past and had experienced above-average food, decent service, and a pleasant atmosphere, particularly for Jackson. We were eager to eat there on Valentine's Day and had arranged for a babysitter for the evening. In the week leading up to Valentine's Day, I contacted the Flatiron Grille twice, once on the phone and once in person, to inquire about reservations. Both times I was told that the restaurant wasn't taking reservations but was taking call ahead seating. At 6:00 on Valentine's Day evening, I called ahead. The woman who answered the phone stated that the wait was two hours, which coincided perfectly with my babysitter's arrival time, so I asked to have my name put on the list. She said that the manager had just told her that they were no longer taking call ahead seating. So there I was. Valentine's night, babysitter arrangements made, and no place to go. Thankfully, we found a restaurant that had some seating available, but I will no longer be patronizing the Flatiron Grille since the owner, Frank Arcuri, obviously has no integrity at all. read more

We are from out of state and our friends invited us to brunch/dinner. Eggs Benedict, meatloaf, and Salmon were ordered. We sat outside and enjoyed our excellent meals. The salmon with fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly. The other meals were as well. Highly recommend this restaurant and staff. read more

Used to be a favorite. No longer. We have added them to our list of not worth it. First, Service was terrible with server that camped in kitchen and failed to see drinks were low, salads were not out, and poor coordination of main course arrival. Once food arrived, sauces had terrible burnt aftertaste that made food inedible. Maybe just a bad night. I certainly hope so; however, as upscale restaurant that charges almost $20 for appetizers and $40 to $60+ for an entree, patrons should always receive quality. This was not the case. read more

We've been here several times in the past. Haven't been in a while so we decided to go. It's one of the very few upper scale dining in Jackson. I was disappointed. They took off what made them upscale and added sandwiches. I can get a club sandwich anywhere. That's not why you come to a place like this. The service was sloooow!! It must have been her first day. Not totally her fault but it took over an hour to get our meal. They used to have a sea bass on the menu and I was really wanting it but it's gone. I had to settle for salmon. Again I can get that anywhere. All in all, it's ok but not worth the money or the wait. read more

The food is pretty good as well as the atmosphere, but for the price it is definitely not worth it. Service was horrible, could not get drink orders right even though there were only two of us. For it supposed to being one of the nicer restaurants in Jackson it was not. There is no fine dinner no in Jackson. Chilies would be a better stop than here. read more

Went here based on the other reviews, was not disappointed. Started with wedge and crab cakes. Both were very tasty though I prefer pickled red onions on my wedge. The lamb entree was perfectly prepared. Had the Mac and Cheese and creamed spinach sides. The Mac and cheese is more like a loaded potato, but with pappardelle instead of potato and obviously way more cheesy. The creamed spinach a little more cream than spinach, but still very tasty (I have a weak spot for dishes that feature butter and cream as their main ingredients.) We were there for a late lunch, so we were practically alone. We sat at the bar and received really tasty cocktails and even better service. Highly recommended. read more

10/11/09 Lunch - Over priced and average. Blackened chicken was just burned not "Blackened". Fruit fresh from freezer and flavorless. Menu limited. Your paying for the fancy interior and expensive location. Sunday lunch and not a dozen people in the place should have told us something but wanted to try some place new.
