Ordered takeout and it was good. Just got a burger, BLT, chicken fingers and the $10 pasta special. It was what you would expect but nothing that stood out as "wow". This is not a knock on Culbert's because it is a good thing to be able to order something and just get "good" food. What else helped was the prices were under what I would expect. Also, their wings are great on Mondays when they have the special I'm from LaSalle so we are really happy that they changed that place into a wonderful place and we ordered quite frequently and often going into the restaurant and dine everything is good. Came in for wing night on Monday and everything was delicious!! We were able to try a few flavors and they were all great! We also had the appetizer sampler - excellent choice because you get to try a little of everything! The service was great, everyone was super attentive . The place itself is very cool, great size and gets pretty packed for wing night which is fun! A side note is they had a seasonal cocktail menu and they were great, I had the autumn haze and it was soooo good! I am definitely coming back and would highly recommend going! The best news about Culberts is that Joey's and Foley's have nothing to fear. Clean and bright space that is uncomfortably furnished and WAY.TOO.LOUD. Took 10 minutes to get noticed and asked if we wanted menus. Wait staff was friendly but largely inattentive. My margarita was pretty weak but my date's martini was great (turned out to be the best item ordered). Ordered 16 wings and a beef-on-weck to share and then the wait began. An *hour and ten minutes later*, after being told that our order was "just about done" and "a couple more before you" (we counted 7-8 before us), our food finally came. The wings were a solid B-. Joey's are better. The sauce didn't help. The beef-on-weck was tiny and dry. the au jus (in a cup for dipping) was salty but flavorless. Did I mention how relentlessly LOUD it was? Looking for reasons NOT to go to Culberts? Allow me to share a list. When we first walked in the din was overwhelming. It's a pub I get it, but this was over the top. Some baffling or acoustic tiles would go a long way. The first 10 min. the wait staff was intentionally avoiding eye contact. I don't expect to be immediately seated or have my order taken. But acknowledge that I have walked in your establishment. After a little over 10 min a waitress came over and asked if we wanted menus as we are not psychic we said yes. We ordered drinks and food(Wings and a Beef on Weck). The drinks arrived, ......................................................................................................................................... After multiple checks by our waitress and over an hour our food arrived. An overwhelming wait for an underwhelming meal. The wings were fair and the Beef on Weck was a disappointment. I have no doubt that if you are a known to the wait staff they would be more attentive but I won't be going back to give them that opportunity. Neither should you. No one should have to work hard to not be treated as invisible. How that few people could make that much noise and yet so many go unnoticed is mind numbing. Save yourself. We have ventured here twice and have been very pleased with the service and the food. Excellent chicken wings; 5$ Burger special was terrific too. Their menu prices are reasonable and food quality is good. It is a bit bright and perhaps warmer wall color would help it feel a bit cozier. It's very clean and the servers, as mentioned above, were pleasant. Some here mentioned Foleys as being more comfortable (!); I prefer to go to a place that doesn't have drunks and smokers hanging out in front of it. read more

After a 9 hour drive, my family and I decided to stop in here for a beer and some food. Man, we're we blown away. They offered a $5 burger special which was great for the kids, but the beer selection was great and the food was even greater. The beef on weck was to die for. A solid 10/10. The burgers and the Buffalo sandwiches were also top notch. And interesting enough, their marinara was also phenomenal. To add, Jenn was an amazing host and bartender who really went out of her way to entertain the kids and make conversation. The vibe and music selection were relaxing and the lighting was perfect for the environment. They also have an outdoors patio with a large connect-four game the kids enjoyed playing.
