    Sausage and 100% Pure-Maple Cream
    Connie C.

Haven't been here in 6 years since O was born. We got on in the beginning of a road trip and date I say it hit the flavour spot! It was better than we even remembered. He had to go classic with sausage and maple cream. We ordered ahead through Yelp to avoid standing in the rain. The waffle was soaked in the perfect amount of sweet maple cream with that toasty juicy sausage. Just perfection and perfect for eating while driving so we could hit the road on time!

It's a must try food truck, The Waffle Sandwich is a loaded with your chosen ingredients, I tried the Bacon Maple filled with meat and I had an egg, Prefect fulfilling breakfast sandwich. Great service place was busy when I arrived, food made fresh to order. The ambiance is outdoors, Food truck is parked in front of a meat market, no table seating, well worth the sandwich to go!

What a wonderful spot! Clutch brunch treats both savory and sweet I recommend getting the THB and the strawberry. You'll want to come back for more options. They appreciate their costumers just by reading the posts on the wall and seeing the photos. Friendly staff and vibes! I'll be back weekly!???? Yumm! You guys hit the spot

Been coming here since early days. Moved away for 10 years and came back in 2019. Now we are leaving again and I'm sad. First place we came when we moved back and last one we are visiting before we leave. One of the few times in life where not only did things not change for the worse, it's better every time. This has become a Portland institution. A must do. No idea how I haven't posted a review before. My very big bad. The only thing I could complain about is I really miss the ovaltine lattes. I've been trying for well over a decade to dupe it and I cannot. They were addictive. Pro-tip: if you can't decide and you have an air fryer, take an extra one home for breakfast the next morning, or late night munchies. It's amazing. I'm sure going to miss it. Please take care of our kind and talented waffle fam. Be friendly. Tip well. Remember how hard they are working to make your morning great.

Hot waffles, made to order. Reasonably priced, fresh ingredients, and lots of flavor combos. A+ chicken & waffles.

Desperate for espresso on my way to Egypt (NE Portland can just feel that far), I eyeballed Flavor Spot and zipped into the lot for a mocha. There were only a couple of people milling about on a Sunday at 12:45pm. The service was friendly. Not super fast but my mocha was perfect.$3.75 for 16oz. Since I had the non eating kid with me( no mom I dont want anything!) I got a butter and sugar waffle for $3. She ate half. It was a really good waffle. I know my kid. She can live on air until the waffle shows up.

There on the corner of Lombard and Boston, stood the Flavour food cart he'd passed so often. Mystically magnetic and shrouded in mist, he hungrily glanced at the waffle sandwich list. Sausage & Maple or P B n J? Maybe Blackforest Ham w/ Gouda today. So oft with the later, this happy bloke went, Street food bliss filled his stomach, his money well spent. If you're reading this, you're probably a human being who is alive. As a living person, you probably try to sustain yourself daily with things like food. The problem is, you are not really living. No, you're not. Not until you have eaten a sausage patty smothered in maple butter that is taco'd by a waffle from Flavour Spot. This waffle cart by the side of the road in the Mississipi Heights neighborhood has amazing coffee, friendly service, and a dozen or so different kinds of waffle sandwiches that are not any where near as funky as they might sound and more delicious than words on a sign could possibly convey. I recommend the #1 which is sausage, but the M9 bacon one and turkey and havarti one were also phenomenal. So, sit down at a picnic table in the gravel and try to breathe in between bites. You are alive and your life is good.

All of this recent talk of Taco Trucks and Lunch Carts got me thinking: what about the forgotten deliciousness of the Waffle-Sandwich? Most parking lots in North Portland don't hold much promise for the "activities" that take place on a daily basis. But this particular parking lot holds a LEGAL addiction that can easily replace your local coffee stop, if your waistline allows. FlavourSpot puts the "McGriddle" to shame by making delicious and fresh waffle-sandwich creations such as the Sausage & Maple ($4), the Ham & Cheese ($4), and the PBnJ ($3.50). Feeling inspired? You can choose to throw in some of your own mixers like Nutella, Lemon Curd, Mallow Fluff or one of their three kinds of Peanut Butter. Their coffee is strong and decent - and they don't charge extra for soy or organic milk! If your tummy is made of Iron, you could also try one of their Specialty hot or cold drinks that look as ridiculously good as their waffles. Get there early - they close at 3pm everyday of the week. If you have a weakness for waffles (and no discipline), you better PRAY that this Waffle Truck of Deliciousness does not choose to expand to a second location. For the rest of us - let's keep our fingers crossed!

Ham & Gouda dutch taco w/added maple butter for $7.25
    McKena M.

With fast service, amazingly delicious dutch tacos, and menu options of both savory and sweet waffles, Flavour Spot is an excellent spot for breakfast on Lombard! As a fan of savory food myself, I've ordered the #1 (Sausage & Maple) and the Ham & Gouda with added maple butter. The waffles here are soft, fresh, and nicely soak up any added maple butter in the taco. I highly recommend spending an extra dollar fifty to elevate your dutch taco to the next level with some maple butter! It's the perfect combination of savory-sweet that I like, given that the sweetness of the maple butter doesn't overpower the savory elements in the dutch taco. Though both the #1 and the Ham & Gouda are absolutely delicious, I think my favorite out of the two would have to be the Ham & Gouda. The combination of black forest ham, gouda cheese, and (added) maple butter inside a waffle is simply genius. The #1 is also excellent, though I think that the sausage used at Bagel & Box (which I believe is Flavour Spot's sister cart of some sort?) tastes better than here. Nonetheless, the #1 is super bomb! It's my boyfriend's favorite. Finally, although some reviewers feel that it's pricey here, I think Flavour Spot's prices are super reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. Although the dutch tacos may not look the biggest, they're really filling and super satisfying. As a Portland transplant, I'm shocked (and blessed!) that so many food carts pump out super noms, high quality food for a decent price-- Flavour Spot is no exception :)

Immaculate atmosphere and the exact sort of thing we were looking for for breakfast. We didn't get her name but saw on the receipt her name might have been Davi, she was such a bundle of light and life, so attentive and kind! She immediately gave us wonderful recommendations which we all adored. The table ordered praline bacon to share (do yourself a favor and get this), one ordered the praline bacon waffle, another ordered the bananas foster waffle, and I got the seasonal vegetable hash. We were all in HEAVEN with what we ordered. From the first bite to the last it we were all absolutely stunned by how delicious and well made everything was. I savored every bite as did my compatriots. One gal ordered a couple things to go for her family (huevos rancheros for the hubby and cinnamon rolls for her kiddos) and our waitress Davi recommended they bring out the cinnamon rolls unfired so that she could pop them in the oven when she got home after a short drive. It was such good attention to detail that felt like such a friendly offer. Absolute superstars, the lot of you. I know they get busy on weekends but we had no problem making a reservation and being seated promptly indoors. Their indoor space can get quite loud. They do have a covered side patio as well. We ordered some of their classic dishes: chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, banana foster French toast. Everything was absolutely delicious. I did feel some sticker shock at the prices ($17-24 ish) but the portions are quite large. They do have a kids menu as well as a full bar. Customer service was excellent, with a seemingly genuinely friendly server. Though they were busy, it was easy to get assistance as needed. The decor is wonderfully charming. Overall, Screen Door might not be an every-weekend kind of thing, but for an out-of-town visitor, a special occasion, or craving you just can't shake - it's absolutely worth the stop.

Still a very good steak and sausage gravy. Either the steak breading of the sausage gravy was maybe a touch more salty than usual. The eggs were disappointing- scrambled eggs should be fluffy due to constantly stirring over low heat in a pan - and previously they always had been. This time they were a overcooked dense, dry puck, It was as if the egg mixture was poured out on the flattop, left and flipped once. Still eatable with hot sauce. Over all - they did hit a ball, but definitely no home run. It's unlikely that I'll be back.
