This place was walking distance from my friend's house, so I came here a couple of times while I was visiting. There was a fair bit of seating (smaller inside, but combined with the outdoor covered space and tables in front in the sun there was lots of room). For a small coffee shops, there were lots of options: breakfast, lunch, cold pressed juices, smoothies, baked goods and of course the grocery side. There was a little bit of everything you need. I love that when you dine in they use regular plates and cups. They make everything easy for you with the cutlery, water, spots for dirty dishes accessible both inside and outside. You order at the counter and get a number. I had the peach and burrata salad, which hit the spot. It was so fresh and delicious. Very friendly staff. Can't wait to come back! read more

Popped in for a morning walk, a coffee and a pastry. The business description kinda sleeps on the pastries, the selection was good and the blueberry muffin I got was really good. I got just plain ol coffee with milk (Americano), which I think is a great way to rate a place's coffee. It was really good, not bland or watery, really nice tasting coffee. This is my third time coming to this cute little place on Fremont. Right off Sandy Boulevard. I brought my husband here today. I had told him how wonderful their pastrami sandwich was. It didn't have any of the special sauerkraut or very much cheese on it. My husband didn't realize the kraut was missing and started to eat his because we were hungry. We were sharing a sandwich. Two or three minutes into eating, the gentleman at the front comes over and says oh wow that's the wrong sandwich. I look and say oh yes, no sauerkraut not much cheese. He said he brought the wrong one. Sorry about that. Started to walk away.My husband asked him if we could just get the kraut on the side. He went and got some and brought it to us. Cold kraut in a bowl. The sandwich is supposed to be hot with melted cheese. This was a disappointment. The pastrami was super tasty as before. I felt bad for my husband. He did not get the same experience. We did have a delicious smoothie that was called the Eugene smoothie. Service is OK. They are friendly. Still have a Small Fresh food and Italian pasta area. They also carry a host of convenience items that are super-local! It's like the convenience of Plaid Pantry, but healthier like New Seasons, but better prices and masterfully curated. It reminds me of the local corner stores growing up back east. Staff are friendly, food is consistently good, they have excellent indoor/outdoor seating options and they event have a loyalty program. This place is super-local: their coffee is from Rocky Butte Roasters (1/2 mi away), and because the owner is also the organizer of the Rocky Butte Farmer's Market, they have fresh produce to buy as well as the fruit they put in their smoothies. Right now, since they're still new, the lunch menu only offers two sandwiches and two salads. I'm sure they'll have more later. In the meantime, get the ginger lemonade.
