I found this hidden gem in an Oregonian article that listed local businesses that were donating to local + national immigrant advocacy organizations on 01/30/2026, so they earned a lifetime customer out of me because of that direct form of community solidarity! Thank you for being on the loving side of history! I love that they're tucked in the neighborhood & offer indoor + outdoor seating! The cafe menu is packed with delicious drinks, food, + sweet treats. I was gifted one of their house made almond cookies to go with my vanilla oat milk latte, which was incredible, they both were a 10/10! This is my third time coming to this cute little place on Fremont. Right off Sandy Boulevard. I brought my husband here today. I had told him how wonderful their pastrami sandwich was. It was the first sandwich I ever ordered here. I loved it so much. Great sourktaut. This time I'm sorry to say it wasn't as good. First of all, they brought us the wrong sandwich. It didn't have any of the special sauerkraut or very much cheese on it. My husband didn't realize the kraut was missing and started to eat his because we were hungry. We were sharing a sandwich. Two or three minutes into eating, the gentleman at the front comes over and says oh wow that's the wrong sandwich. I look and say oh yes, no sauerkraut not much cheese. He said he brought the wrong one. Sorry about that. Started to walk away.My husband asked him if we could just get the kraut on the side. He went and got some and brought it to us. Cold kraut in a bowl. The sandwich is supposed to be hot with melted cheese. This was a disappointment. The pastrami was super tasty as before. I felt bad for my husband. He did not get the same experience. We did have a delicious smoothie that was called the Eugene smoothie. Service is OK. They are friendly. Still have a Small Fresh food and Italian pasta area. They also carry a host of convenience items that are super-local! It's like the convenience of Plaid Pantry, but healthier like New Seasons, but better prices and masterfully curated. It reminds me of the local corner stores growing up back east. Staff are friendly, food is consistently good, they have excellent indoor/outdoor seating options and they event have a loyalty program. A lovely little coffee and juice bar as a really nice addition to the Roseway neighborhood. This place is super-local: their coffee is from Rocky Butte Roasters (1/2 mi away), and because the owner is also the organizer of the Rocky Butte Farmer's Market, they have fresh produce to buy as well as the fruit they put in their smoothies. Right now, since they're still new, the lunch menu only offers two sandwiches and two salads. I'm sure they'll have more later. In the meantime, get the ginger lemonade. Went in for breakfast on a Saturday around 10 am. No line at all, and we had breakfast sandwiches in around 10 minutes. Lots of little snacks to buy inside the shop if you're not there for a meal or a coffee. Had the garden egg sandwich, which was solid and a lavender rose honey mamas chocolate bar.
