Love Love Love this place. It has that amazing diner feel with the most friendly servers. I highly recommend their Hippie Hash -- it is my go-to in the menu. The food was pretty average, our server was the highlight of our meal. She was incredibly attentive and when we had an issue with bland dry Mac and cheese she graciously switched it with a better side. This isn't a place for a culinary masterpiece, but if you want to have a semi-diner experience, this is the place to go. I had the gyro and my husband had a burger. The gyro was a little greasy and the cucumber yogurt was very thick. The burger was pretty standard. Highlight, onion rings, best part of the meal. The barley soup was also pretty decent. Oddly enough, when we returned to our car there was a piece of bacon on our windshield, I quickly tossed it in case my husband had the urge to grab and eat it. read more

One of the worst diner meals I've ever wasted precious stomach space on. The roast beef dinner, which should be a staple of any diner, was dry and the gravy was probably from a can. The mashed potatoes were horrible. Watered down with skin in the potatoes, brown looking (see my pic). I ordered the vegetable of the day which was peas. I was seated at the counter and witnessed the two cooks literally tossing my ball of frozen pease back and forth like a bean bag. Playing with my food right in front of me! I was appalled. Couldn't finish my plate. What I took a picture of is where I stopped eating. Didn't want to get sick. Maybe the hippie hash is ok but I know many great diners that have excellent food no matter what you order. I would never recommend this place, awful. read more

So my time here in Lansing was awesome especially with places like this. My friends said I needed to try the breakfast from here so I was ready to see what this place has to offer. Second time eating here and both have been good. It's not often I've come across a real, old school diner that just has it right. This comes off like one of those places. The service wasn't specifically knock-your-socks-off, but the water never went empty and the food was pretty quick out to us! I had the meaty "hippie hash" today and it was exceptional. I hadn't thought to add broccoli to a scattered hash brown mix before, but it worked really well with the way they charred it. The rest of the fam we're visiting enjoyed their entree's too. We have been coming here for about 6 years, at least once a month or more. Always get the same thing. Biscuits and Gravy and Stuffed French Toast. Excellent! Service is 97% spot on very good. However, the last time we stopped, the menu prices have really gone out of sight. Now, I know food costs have gone up as well as pay ( I assume it has). But about a 50% increase for B/G and about the same for stuffed French toast. Now the menu is huge and if Food costs are going up that much along with other expenses, why not cut back on menu items for a while? Save costs there? I don't know the answer to that, nor do I know how to run a restaurant. But, some of us Seniors can't afford to eat here and at many other restaurants. We will be back, just not as often. read more

Now we live in Michigan and I can't recommend it enough! It's a place we can take the kids because there are end booths that fit the five of us easily. Good prices. Great service. Cool atmosphere. Delicious food. Fleetwood Diner is the quintessential diner. Shiny steel, vintage Coke signs, a small bar lined with ashtrays...you get the picture. I ordered a Greek salad and chili. My friends ordered a combination of burgers, salads, chili, cheese fries, and steak subs. Everyone said their food was delicious. My Greek salad was a pleasant surprise. The dressing wasn't too creamy, but was bursting with flavor, just like the Greek olives. And they loaded up the salad with feta which is always a nice touch. The tomatoes looked kind of nasty, but at this point, they're getting out of season so I shouldn't be surprised. My chili was pretty good too, generously topped with a layer of shredded cheese. The fries were cooked well done, very crispy, which is so much better than the soggy, damp fries most other diners dish out. Even though the waitress spilled ranch dressing on my pants, she was very apologetic, great with refills and bringing out the food in a timely manner. From the looks of it there were only two waitresses and the restaurant was 75% full so kudos to her for being so attentive. This place is absolutely worth checking out. It's cheap, the food is good, and it's a diner so bring the kids and give them a history lesson. read more

Hippie hash shouldn't taste this good without some kind of secret ingredient, so I always wonder what's in Fleetwood Diner's special sauce. Served with two eggs your choice, hippie hash is a perfect meal at anytime of day. This diner has quite a few vegetarian options and substitutions, including meat alternatives. It's my favorite 24-hour spot in Lansing. The staff is friendly; the coffee is strong; and the food is great. I've never tried the one in Ann Arbor, but my recent stop here reminded me to give it a try closer to home. read more

Pretty great place for a local diner. The waiters/waitresses there have always been very attentive. Even as some have left and others have came we've never had a problem. A few times we were there when there was some unruly customers there fighting (literal fist fights) among eachother and the staff handled it very well and very professionally. As for the food, standard diner food. The thing I'd recommend for a good breakfast scramble is the hippie hash. It's pretty awesome and it's not like something generic that every diner has so if you're into it, give it a try. More than likely you will enjoy it. read more

For a 24-hour diner, this has got to be one of the best options out there. The menu is a bit ridiculous in its extensiveness. Name it, this place has probably got it. My friend and I both ended up with the gyro, one of the more random items I feel like is on the menu. And yes, the lamb is carved on the spot. With sesame seeds sprinkled on top, it's full of flavor with a slight hint of spice. The tzatziki sauce isn't as refreshing as I liked it to be, but it was still creamy and light. Fries and salad that come with the dinner combo is more than enough food for two people to split. A "side" of fries is seriously a giant basket. One knock I have about this place is the extremely odd smell. I expect diners to have that greasy smell emitting from it, but this place was just weird and pungent. read more

I stopped in for brunch on a Sunday after church. I was immediately seated. The waiter stopped by shortly afterward, gave me a menu and asked what beverage I'd like. Exactly what you want a diner to be. In 2017 it's not as easy to find a good, unpretentious diner as it used to be... it's slowly becoming an anachronism. This one gets high marks for nailing the classics while also offering stuff like a Coney omelet or a tempeh reuben. The food is greasy and you'll leave smelling like you were grilled.
