Pretty tasty burger joint. I ordered the 4 cheese grilled cheese & bacon on sourdough sandwich and it was super tasty and uniquely textured with the cheese both creamy but chunky. It was super filling and also came with a tomato dipping sauce. My guy offered a burger and it was cooked perfectly and pretty large & tasty (I had a bite). I also ordered a chocolate shake and it was very creamy and delish. They had some good looking seafood sandwich specials that I wished I could've tasted like their crab burger. For a place to get a quick bite inside Rivers casino, this place isn't bad at all. It's by no means inexpensive, but its a great option for a quality meal if you're not in the mood to drop some serious coin at the steakhouse. I had a chopped salad with a light vinegar dressing. Literally get our order wrong every time... Today I ordered a med rare son-of-a-flipt burgers with everything but no jalapeño, no ketchup. Bit into a jalapeño. Sent it back... Another one came back, no jalapeño- double checked it. I was so excited so I took a bite.... Aaaaand this time the patty was way past well done. Like extra chewy and not in a delicious way. It made me want to just leave the food and drive to McDonalds. The ranch dressing was awesome though. Love the dressing- they get three stars for the ranch. Really not that expensive. It's about $11 for a burger and fries and at most $5 for a beverage (alcoholic or not). Hugo's is over priced and Canopy isn't always open. It's not like it's not some crappy little fast food burger hut, AND it's on delicious potato bread! Pretty sure the negative reviews are from crabby people who lost big at Rivers. Flipt is awesome. Wow... I've gone here WITHOUT playing at the casino just to grab a burger to go. Really solid burger. The buns (with the white flour texture) are so tasty. Great fries. If you like pickles on your burger, definitely get these. Great crispy and flavor compliment to the burger. I was impressed with the way the burgers turned out. The menu was bloated with options and was very straight to the point. They have half pound burgers which I thought was a bit much for a late night bite. The cashier mentioned they do have quarter pound burgers as an option. I got that with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, raw onions, and jalapenos. I added on a side of onion rings just because I don't get eat those very often. I paid my bill and the cashier gave me a number which I took to the table and waited till my food was ready. Just about 10 minutes passed by and a food runner came to the table with the order. My burger was cooked med well just as I ordered it. the toppings were servers in a separate box which meant I needed to assemble it myself. For a quarter pound burger they sure gave me more than enough toppings to build a burger. I could've used the rest of the veges as a salad! I've only ordered burgers to eat here. One comes here for the convenience while they're having fun in the Rivers Casino. The hamburgers and Turkey Burgers are thick and juicy (be sure to state how you want them prepared). If the hamburgers are too much to eat (and afford), pick on the "baby size" instead (which are still satisfying for those who don't have a big appetite plus they're about half the cost). I ordered a Rivers burger ($10) and it's fantabulous. Got it exactly medium rare like I ordered it. For people who want a lighter burger, they have 1/4 pound burgers for a few dollars less. The fries are an additional $3 if you add on to a sandwich. Also super delicious. To the other poster that says they are Steak N Shake fries - um, no. Steak N Shake serves shoestring fries. These are steak fries - thick, hearty, and yum. While the price is more than a typical fast food joint, it is right in line with gourmet burger places. They also have a daily special burger that includes fries for $10-ish. On a budget? Look elsewhere. But if you have a few dollars to spend, it's pretty tasty and you get lots of food. read more

Absolutely terrible. Had a standard burger with fries that was $11.58---to go. God forbid I would have sat down, had a pop and had to tip a server. That would have been an easy $20 for a burger that is no better than a $3.99 variety u may find at any small diner across the country. You have to love places like Rivers Casino which have a captive audience, they generate $30 Million+ in gambling revenues every month and they still rip off their customers with overpriced food. This place is terrible and I will never eat here again. Would have been ZERO stars but that is not allowed. It's interesting to me to read the previous reviews that the burgers were overcooked. In my case (just went there/) the burger should have been a lot more cooked. Quite pink in the middle. As stated, the fries were a bit thin and mushy, and for the $2 extra, not enough to fit into a small fries bag (very small). What I really enjoyed was my front row seat right into the casino area, and the very pleasant attitudes of the wait staff (those who brought the food to the tables). VERY NICE! For a beer, FLIPT burger (no extras) and the $2.00 fries, the meal came in at just under $16. This was my first time going to Rivers -- next time, I'll pay a few bucks more and go to Hugo's. All in all, a decent experience due to the very friendly attitude of the wait staff. read more

Hit or miss on the food quality. Used to enjoy going here for a burger, but lately, there are better options. The venue itself is dirty and in dire need of a deep cleaning. I pay $7.00 for two soft drinks to see people walk in from the casino or other Flipt patrons taking the free cups meant for water and filling them up with soft drinks. I guess I wouldn't mind so much if the drinks weren't so over inflated in price it the first place. I will go to another casino from now on where we can eat before or after we gamble. read more

Today was my first visit to Flipt restaurant located inside the Rivers Casino. It's small, brightly lit and a very clean restaurant that servers mostly burgers and hotdogs along with a few other select items ( like salads or a five cheese grilled cheese). Today I ordered the Makin bacon burger topped with a fried egg, an order of onion rings and a shake. The burger consisted of a single burger (cooked medium) topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, a few nice and juicy slices of canadian bacon and a fried egg (added on option) on a warm, soft bun. The burger itself was actually really good. It was cooked to temp, the patty was seasoned well and it didn't require any condiments to taste good. I do have two complaints though. The menu says this is a half pound burger (which this wasn't), and they didn't give me the barbecue sauce that was listed on the menu. Either way, it was still a really good burger. The onion rings were simple thick cut rings with a panko crust. They were served hot, really crunchy (I love panko) and were actually some pretty good onion rings. They have three favors of shakes. Chocolate, vanilla and the flavor of the day (today was cookie dough). I ordered the chocolate. It was smooth and creamy (not too thick, not too thin) severed in a simple plastic cup with a very large straw (big enough to fit my finger in it). It was good, and the perfect accompaniment to my burger. All together I enjoyed my meal a lot. Everything had a lot of flavor and the employees I spoke to were all very nice and attentive. If you're willing to shell out a few bucks, then this place is worth trying. My meal today was not cheap (but not unexpected considering it's in a casino). The burger was $10, optional fried egg $1, panko onion rings $5 and the shake $3.50 Total cost after tax, just over $22. read more

I don't know much about casino food due to the fact that I dont get around to many casinos. I'll just review it as I would review any restaurant. it's pricey but I guess that's what to expect in a casino. I ordered the Makin Bacon burger which contained the patty, two strips of bacon. The bacon was nice and crispy. I was expecting 2 flimsy strips. A slice of Canadian bacon made a nice addition and barbecue sauce which they put a little too much on. You can get cheese but I didn't want any. The fries were described as fresh cut. Don't know if I believe that. They were thin sliced. I wasn't all that thrilled with the fries. The service gets 5 stars. Very quick and accurate on my order. Nice staff too. They were very friendly. I could see this place doing well outside of the casino too. read more

The this place is great. I had a flipt burger cooked medium with jalepenoes onions lettuce and mustard! The burger was cooked perfectly and u can tell the meat is of good quality. I highly recommend the fries with a side of cheese, the cheese is amazing it got a jalepenos kick!! Overall the burger is good decent size, kinda pricey for just a burger@ around $8-12 dollars(u have to pay for cheese) but in a casino you really cant complain. I went to a buger joint and order the chicken salad :) Yes yes i know shame on me but a girl needs to watch what she eats lol. I got my salad in a cute black box and the portion size was big. Horrible service and food! I went there last night and order a cob chicken salad without cheese (because im lactose intolerant). When they brought the salad over, it was made with cheese, so i asked them to take it back and make one without cheese. They brought back the same salad with the cheese scooped out! There were still bits of cheese in there! The salad was bland just like the chicken. For a restaurant in such a high class casino, it was terrible. read more

I've come here many times for the grill cheese because it's one of my favorites out there. I came here tonight and I thought I ordered the ultimate grill cheese and what I got was not grill cheese. The chefs were great and made me new one however they changed their menu. The ultimate grill cheese which use to be a traditional grilled 5 cheese blend with side of tomato dipping sauce and now just a BLT with cheese and toasted. The original grill cheese was amazing and don't know why they would change it. It comes with lettuce and never have I had grill cheese with lettuce! Our first time here and I mentioned that when ordering- ordered the Blue Cheese Bacon Burger and was surprised to find a slice of melted cheese on it when I received it. It looked like swiss to me. Turns out they use a sliced blue cheese?? No flavor and texture was disappointing. The burger itself was good. My husband backed off on the 1/2 burger saying he wasn't that hungry and got 1/4 lb instead. Ordered well done and got medium. We split an order of fries and it was recommended we get the large order and save a dollar. I don't know what the sizes cost but the large order was overkill especially when one person already said they weren't that hungry. Most of the fries went uneaten which was wasteful. I had wanted to try them for a while now and it's pretty doubtful I'll go back. Des Plaines has other burger spots just as good or better for less money close to the casino. read more
