This morning we went to the Floating Green Restaurant at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course. We made a 10 am reservation and the place was empty. We picked a perfect table outside overlooking the floating green and tee box. It was fun to watch people tee off and try to hit the green. The weather was amazing and the outdoor seating area was wonderful. I ordered a breakfast burrito (seems to be my go-to at various places lately) and my wife had the huckleberry pancakes. Hers came with a huckleberry sweet cream. She didn't enjoy the sweet cream very much (she hates yogurt-type consistency) but she loved the pancakes. My burrito was fine albeit a little dry. I have had a lot better breakfast burritos (like The Swinging Doors on Frances in Spokane). Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive. We have been once before and we will come again. read more

Ambiance: 8/10 beautiful views of the course and the lake. Service: 8/10 waitress was super kind and funny. Quick service too! Food: Quesadilla: 6.5/10 pork was Smokey and good. Tortilla was crispy. Salsa and guac was good but nothing to write home about. Ahi tuna tacos: 4/10 tuna was fresh and well cooked. Tortilla were cold and dry. Toppings were flavorless. I'd recommend doing a chili sauce and/or spicy mayo. It was just boring. Burger: 6.5/10 nice bun, burger was packed well but overcooked although I liked the char on it. So, first of all Chef Tim is back! We didn't know it until we saw him helping serve lunch to a big group. As usual, the food and service were very good and for today's limitations in the restaurant world, the portions were more than we expected. Tim is a first class guy and the restaurant will reflect his attention to detail and get back to the standards they used to have. I guess he returned to the Floating Green at the end of the summer and is getting it back into form. Over the years we have followed Tim (working with Susie at the time) from the Floating Green to the Beach House to Tito's and now back to the Floating Green. Along with Tim, we experienced the many years of Floating Green excellence of Bob and Stephanie until the Hagadone team couldn't muster the common sense to hold onto them. Their departure to Oregon led to chaos and extremely poor erratic performance evidenced by the host of bad reviews. We mostly stopped going here years ago after several disappointments. I can honestly say as long as Tim is in charge, we'll be back! The menu is pretty good given the amount of working space they have and this crew seems to make the most of it. Pricing is about average for CDA with winter specials available to entice return visits. As a local, I almost hate to say how good it is because they will get overrun but they deserve some positive credit for their effort. This will be our go to for lunch on the lake! read more

I've been here several times and just left there for lunch taking friends for the first time. I have never been so embarrassed by the service or should I say lack of. The quality of food for the price and the lack of flavor has absolutely gone down. I ordered the Ahi tacos and it had zero taste. The tortillas were cold and chewy, absolutely horrible. The fish and chips looked like McDonalds Chicken strips flat and a complete joke! The candy pig was another embarrassment especially for the price. Our waitress was terrible. Not sure of her name on our check it has Samatha F. Never once came to our table to apologize for the slow service, appetizer and food took forever and not once did she check on us. I even asked her if they were short staff and she said actually no we have lots of staff here today! The entire time at our table never once did she check if we needed water or another drink. I absolutely will not bring any new visitors here for lunch ever again and recommend that before you come here be prepared for blan expensive food with a nice view of the lake. July 8th, 2025 was our first visit to the Floating Green Restaurant. We went to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and take our daughter and soon to be son-in-law with us who had just gotten engaged. He is an avid golfer and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it was the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant. We were seated outside and told that our waitress would be right with us as another gal provided us with water. The waitress showed up approximately 20-25 minutes later apologizing for the wait and took our drink order. She told us she was busy with another table who was trying to use a very old gift certificate. The drinks arrived and she proceeded to take our order, which included appetizers and our meals. Two of the four of us wanted the salmon dinner. While placing his order, my husband requested a ceasar salad with the salmon dinner. We waited at least another 30 minutes for our food. The meals were served, however, my husband's meal was incorrect. He received a ceasar salad with salmon on the top. We quickly flagged down a gal who apologized and took it away. Because it took so long to get our meals in the first place, he did not want the meal replaced. Instead, I shared some of mine with him because I, too, ordered the salmon dinner. He then went to take a bite of the salmon when he noticed it was raw (and slimy, yikes!) He immediately left the table to let someone know. Very apologetically, two gals came to the table and removed our plates. Replacement meals were offered but our daughter and her fiance were almost done with their meals at that point. I'll mention here, that not once did we receive water refills (on a very hot day) and our waitress was nowhere to be seen. She soon approached our table and asked what happened and had another excuse as to where she had been. She seemed very annoyed with us and was quite flippant and rude. After being there for approximately 2 hours, in hopes of enjoying two very special celebrations at what we thought would be an amazing location, we left without having dinner and very, very disappointed. It doesn't end there...... The next day we called the restaurant to speak with a restaurant manager. Monique responded to the call and "seemed" to be very apologetic. After telling her what had happened, she indicated that she would look into it and get back with us. She repeatedly stated that she would like us to come back, thanked us for calling and asked us to call back anytime. Almost 6 weeks later, crickets. No call back. The Floating Green has dropped the ball again. Here's the icing on the cake, some friends of ours (another couple) went to this restaurant last week in hopes of enjoying the scenery and having a nice meal also. They received their cocktails but waited over an hour for their food which never arrived, so they left. They spoke with Monique upon leaving, upset, frustrated and disappointed, and felt like she really didn't care. She shrugged them off. Do better Coeur D'Alene Resort. read more

***Floating green pool menu*** Suns out funs out. We had fun here over the Fourth of July days we spent here. As soon as we found our spots the servers were kind enough to bring us whatever drinks we wanted and towels and they got our seats all set up. ( they put chair towels on top of the chairs while they are occupied) since we been here a couple times I knew that it would take at least 30 to 45 minutes to get any kind of food we want and and since the kids are swimming I know they would be hungry. Every time I order them in individual cheese pizza and sometimes they wanted chips. Those things were good I may have had a bites when they weren't looking. Lol shh. I try their chicken Caesar and also their chicken blt wrap. I definitely like the wrap better. Our family had a fun time and it makes it easier when the service is nice and smooth. read more

This was my second visit. First one was for appetizers and drinks during regular season. Food was yummy and service was good. Today we enjoyed breakfast during the off season. The avocado toast was amazing. What a different spin on this item. The Bloody Mary's looked amazing and will be on her list for next time. Service was great and the views are fantastic. I read the one star reviews prior to our experience and was hopeful that ours would be different. July 4, 2020 We were immediately seated with a fantastic view of the floating green. We were admiring the view for a good 10 minutes. We waited for our server to approach us and take our drink order. We kept waiting and waiting. Two older gentleman had received a refill of their drinks while we had yet to order ours. A family sat next to us and were immediately greeted by a server and were able to order drinks. I understand that they were understaffed due to COVID. And was willing to patiently wait 25 minutes just to order some water. But when that same family sat next to us and were able to order drinks before they could really settle into their seats, I lost my patience. Unfortunately, we will never be back and have passed this story on to our friends in the area to warn them about the service at this restaurant. Take a chance with the service if you wish. read more

Unfortunately we did not get the chance to actually eat here. We have a party of 8. We will be in town visiting this weekend and this restaurant came recommended to us. I called 5 days prior to make a reservation and was told that because our party is over 6 people, they had to have manager approval to make a reservation. They then called me back to tell me that the manager did not approve and we could walk in and try to get a seat if we wanted. I do not understand this policy. I am not willing to take a chance and walk in, hoping that I'll get a seat. That is why I was trying to be proactive and make a reservation. But apparently if you have a large family, you can't do that. I will not be visiting this place and will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone. Pretty standard golf course fare. The prime rib panini was a little greasy for my taste. The chicken bacon wrap didn't have match flavor to it. If you're going to have "comes with chips" on the golf cart menu, then where were the chips? The club sandwich was okay, but the bread slid off with too much mayonnaise. Had a great lunch with my wife here. Sat on the patio overlooking the floating green. Has the Thai steak sandwich and Turkey sandwich which we shared and both were excellent! The view is amazing, as everyone raves about. Fun to watch the golfers hit for the floating green. Waitress was great, attentive, and friendly. And prices were very reasonable for a resort restaurant. I'd recommend for a lunch to stop here and be sure to sit outside. Came here for dinner with my group for my bachelorette party, and the food was not good. Half our groups food came out either FREEZING, like lettuce was actually frozen, almost like they pre-made salads in advance or their food was completely wrong. After waiting quite a while for our food and food coming out wrong there were two meals that had hair in them. At that point we'd waited so long it wasn't worth sending it back, AGAIN. They were not busy at all and we had a reservation well in advance so they knew we were coming. For the price of things i expected the quality to be a lot better. Smoked Salmon Salad excellent choice for lunch crumbled dry rub smoked salmon, arugula, shaved fennel, shaved Parmesan lightly tossed in a vinaigrette. Overall appalling! After experiencing rude seating staff and waiting way too long to be seated for lunch, my husband and I were surprised to see all of the empty tables. Others who came in after us were seated before us even though they said they did not have reservations. The table & my chair we were seated at were broken. They were also dirty. No waitstaff came to our table to take drink orders or food orders so we walked out after 20 minutes of sitting there waiting! Although waitstaff waited on other customers they seemed to know. I heard one customer complaining to waitstaff about her food. This is the worst service my husband and I have ever experienced in over 50 years of going to restaurants all around the world. Completely unacceptable communication to customers. Upon leaving I went into the women's bathroom. There were empty food containers and wrappers littered about. Considering that the main draw here is the view, I was surprised to find that the he windows were very dirty and do not appear to have been cleaned for the season. The table we sat at had not been cleaned as there was dried coffee on the table. The floor was not swept as there were crumbs and a dead fly under our table. It was 9AM and we were the only guests there at first. They even said that they were not very busy. I ordered eggs benedict and asked specifically for the eggs to be well cooked. I did not want runny yolks. I was assured that was how it would be prepared. When the meal was brought to me, I could tell immediately that the eggs were actually undercooked and liquid. She took it back to prepare it again and meanwhile, my fiancee ate her meal. She requested hot sauce, but it never came until we asked again after almost finishing the meal. When she was finished we both remarked how much grease was on the plate. There was no fruit or garnish or even jam for the toast. After she finished, my meal arrived. The flavor of the benedict was great, but I did not finish the potatoes because of how much oil/grease there was. I have no intention of going back there. It was probably the worst breakfast I've had in CDA. It was disappointing as we were hoping to bring our guests from Europe here this summer. read more

This place is just okay. Go once so yo can say that you've seen the floating green at the Couer d' Alene golf course. The food is unremarkable. Typical club sandwiches, burgers, etc. You're not going here for the food. The service is lacking. I've been to this place twice and each time the waitress forgot part of our order and seemed not quite with it. We enjoyed the restaurant's beautiful outdoor patio location overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene and "The Coeur d'Alene Golf Club" Floating Green 14th hole. Delicious lunch selections were enjoyed and at a reasonable price. I enjoyed Asparagus Tartine ($14.00) and my wife enjoyed Salmon Flatbread ($15.00) along with Schrimshaw Amber Craft beer ($7.00 / pint). We will definitely be back! read more

So... first visit here. I ordered the Asparagus Prosciutto Tartine. Server brings the order, sets it down (sans asparagus) and says "Sorry but they ran out of asparagus. Do you still want it?" Rather than wait for them to make something else I decided to eat it as is, and of course was charged full price. Really? Here's an idea chef, as soon as you realize you don't have a main component of a dish, stop making it and let the customer know. Whoever is running the place completely failed restaurant management 101. Maybe the manager and chef can study up at summer's end when they go back to high school. read more

The view from the patio is gorgeous. We ordered off of the 19th hole appetizer menu, which are definitely big enough to be full meals. I got the blackened blue steak bites (minus the blue cheese) and my husband got the two-handed burger. Both tasted great. We went at dinner time on a weekday and were one of only a couple tables. I don't know how this restaurant doesn't have a lot more reviews and with all of them being one star. The bummer about having to give this restaurant, over-looking the famed Floating Green, at the CDA Golf Course, a one star review, is that there honestly, is not a prettier place to have lunch, in all of Coeur d' Alene. The restaurant gives gorgeous, unobstructed views of the lake, the course and the Floating Green. However, I don't think that I have ever and I mean, ever, had worse service, anywhere else. The people that work at this restaurant hate their jobs and are completely indifferent; this refers to both the servers and the kitchen staff (you can even overhear them, discussing this fact among each other). The last time (a few weeks ago), my husband and I, tried to take an out of town guest here, was an absolute embarrassment. I knew from previous experiences, that going to this restaurant could be a risk, but it was a gorgeous summer day and we wanted to eat somewhere outside and enjoy a view of the lake, so we braved it. Right when we walked in, it was noted that there were four (FOUR), girls all hovering/sitting around the hostess station. They even announced to us, that they were "taking a break". Anyway, we were seated outside (myself, my husband, my husbands sister, her four year old and our eighteen month old). There was no one eating inside the restaurant and the only other people on the patio, were a table of three men having drinks and a couple, that we were seated right next to. The server gave us menu's and walked away, to go back inside the restaurant. I immediately overheard the wife of the couple, sigh in frustration and begin to complain to her husband, that they had been sitting there, being completely ignored, for ten minutes. I believed the scenario, because all four servers were sitting inside, "taking a break". I kind of leaned over and mentioned to them, that the service is notoriously awful here, with the food being mediocre, but it's the price you pay for the view. They said they had just gotten done playing golf and they were appalled. They didn't even have waters at their table! Several minutes later, a server comes out and comes straight to our table, ignoring the couple that had been sitting there. Just as I was about to tell her, to start with their table, the couple abruptly stood from their seats and literally stormed off (who could blame them!?). The server says to us, "Geez, I don't know what their problem is!?" And then I said, "Well, I think they had been sitting there for fifteen minutes, being ignored." She said that she doubted that and proceeded to take our orders. At that point, I wanted to leave, but our out of town guest, thought it was worth the risk, to continue enjoying the view. In total, we ordered glasses of wine, one burger, one Caesar salad and one order of fish tacos. The wine was brought to our table an excruciating amount of time later and then we sat there. And sat there. And sat there. Our wine glasses were empty, we had been sitting there for twenty five minutes, after ordering, with no one checking on us. At this point, we were the only people at the restaurant. My husband went inside to inquire about the food (how long does it take, to make salad, fish tacos and a simple burger!?). She said it would just be a few more minutes. Another fifteen minutes go by and we were all so pissed off, we weren't even enjoying the view, anymore. It had been a full forty minutes, after we ordered and were sitting there, with empty glasses (never having been offered refills), not once having been checked on, that my husband went back inside to tell them to cancel our order, we were ready to leave! One of the cooks overheard the commotion, because he popped his head out and told my husband "Sorry, but your ticket got lost, your food is almost up." Hahahaha, our ticket got lost!? Our ticket GOT LOST!? It was the only ticket in the whole restaurant, lol! We gathered our things and followed suit, of the earlier couple, that had been smart enough to leave, before they ordered and we stormed out. As we left, we breezed right past those same four girls, sitting/standing around, in an empty restaurant, doing absolutely nothing. Truly, the whole experience, felt like the Twilight Zone. And we will never, ever again make the mistake of attempting to dine at this establishment. read more

Overall a very pleasant experience. Sat outside on the patio that overlooks CDA Lake as well as the floating green. It was a very calm and beautiful evening. I got the pork chop with a peach salsa and a side of potatoes that were fantastic! The potatoes were the highlight of my meal, which seems fitting considering I am in Idaho. The staff was friendly and polite and I did not feel rushed out of the restaraunt. I will definitely return in the future. Oh, and make sure to get the cookie and ice cream for dessert. Just had lunch here with a large group; instead of being pleased with the thought of extra patrons and therefore extra tip, our waitress was impatient to begin with, acting as though we were somehow imposing upon her, and by the end of the meal was openly rude to us. Glasses of iced tea would vanish with no replacement or explanation, and new glasses grudgingly brought out only when we specifically asked! The food was good; however it took over 40 minutes to actually be served after ordering, and at the time we were literally the only table at the restaurant. I found three long brown hairs at the bottom of my steak salad, and showed it to the waitress. Her only response was "Oh. Do you want me to ask the chef?" which was followed by another half hour at the restaurant with no comment from any staff member regarding my salad. I literally had to go into the restaurant to track down the waitress and ask how they were planning on handling the foreign objects in my dish. I was told that it wasn't anything from the kitchen and must have been from outside. Really ? At the absolute bottom of my salad??! We had eight guests from out of town and they all clearly expressed their displeasure with the atrocious service. The venue may be lovely but we will not be back, ever! read more
