I had visited this store a couple times previous to today and thought it was a great place to purchase my backsplash tile, but my experience today motivated me to write this review. My husband and I came in knowing exactly what we intended to buy, so when the sales associate (white older lady with short dark brown hair -- didn't catch her name) asked if we needed assistance, we politely told her no. But she never left our side, as if she thought we were going to steal or break something. I opened up 2 different boxes of marble tile to compare the coloring; one was darker tones, one lighter and asked my husband which he preferred. She then told us that we could not look at the selections of tile and that they were essentially all the same. Um, I'm sorry lady but they are not all the same and the coloring is important to me. A full box of tile is not required to be purchased so there is absolutely no reason I should not be allowed to choose which sheets I,as the consumer, would like to purchase. She then proceeded to give us a ton of unsolicited advice about the tile maintenance (almost as if trying to deter us from buying what we wanted) that I was already not in the mood to listen to. Did you not hear us when we said we did not need advice, or were your hearing aides not turned up loud enough?? Needless to say, I left the store very irritated without making the purchase I went there to make and not sure if I'll be back to make it. It's probably cheaper on Amazon anyways...... read more

Judy from floor and decor on North IH 35 helped me pick out tile for a bathroom remodel. She was wonderful to work with. Not only did she help with sing tile, she also helped me choose grout color, vanity color, countertop color, wall color and even suggested the finish for the accessories. We have had the best experience with Floor & Decor in North Austin, and the designing skills of Katelyn. We are a fairly indecisive group and she led us through designing and picking out tiles for 4 bathrooms and all of our floors in the new home we are building. She has always been there to answer questions and provide assistance, which is so helpful. They have so many options to choose from which was overwhelming when we first walked in! However one of the sales associates let us know that they offer free design services. He went to get a designer who was available right then to help us. Judy Heugel was able to see our vision and pull everything together for us! This was invaluable! After weeks of shopping for vinyl I finally found exactly what I wanted with Floor & Decor. I spoke with a gentleman named Kleat Norris who really "wow"ed me with his customer service. He knew his product, told me what I needed and wasn't pushy at all. He even went above and beyond and sent me good photos of the flooring to save me a trip. Wish they had a 5-10% coupon but I feel I got a great price for a quality product. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family. read more

I would give this location 5 stars just because of Jeremiah, he was awesome in straightening out an order which had mismatched floor tile and insufficient wall tile because several cases got broken by a forklift operator. I am sticking with 4 because the order should not have had this many problems to begin with. Thanks to Brent for giving us relief on the bill for our many extra trips (from Spicewood) to get everything we needed. There were problems but the staff stepped up to make it right. read more

I really didn't want to go to Floor & Decor (because we had already spent so much time shopping elsewhere), but my husband insisted; he had heard the selection and prices were awesome. He was right, but we were overwhelmed. Several people offered to help but we weren't sure what to ask, so we declined. Maria Wallace asked what my favorite color was and the collage of colors for our walk-in shower developed from there. She spent almost two hours with us and helped us pick out (and buy!) the floor tile, wall tile, accent tile, and grout, all in coordinating colors that we both loved! She was so very patient with us, was very knowledgeable, and gave us great suggestions. She was perfect for us and made our shopping experience simply wonderful. John is the bomb! This guy should be training everyone for the company! He is the supreme example of customer service. Too bad every store can't have employees like this. I walked into trying to match an existing wood look tile and put me on a great match for project. Proceeded to help calculate the proper materials made sure I had everything need for the job, entered it into the handheld I go up front and pay. By the time cashier takes my money he has a cart with all the material ready to load into my car. I'm out the door total 10minutes exactly what I need with a smile. I walked in the store, and couldn't find anyone that was able to help me for the first 20 minutes I was in the store. I was finally approached by someone named Joe, who I found to be a bit disrespectful, he seemed to be talking down to me as I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. She was very knowledgeable and, once finding out I was pregnant, without me asking her, she walked around the store with me getting everything I needed, answered my questions about dealers and grout, loaded tile and heavy items into my cart, and then told me to go get my car and she would load everything! LOCATION MATTERS! There are two Floor & Decor's in Austin, I went to the one on Braker first and couldn't manage to find ANYONE to help me, finally when I was able to talk to someone the conversation was oddly abrupt and not very helpful...but they did mention their "bigger store" with more selection. I went there and it was AMAZING. Not only was there a wide selection that was easy to navigate, but I was greeted by no less than 3 friendly employees before I got my cart and got into the store. But kudos to Associate JOHN YINGLING who was such a pleasure to work with and the reason I'm writing this 5-star review. In less than 5 minutes he pointed me to an exact match for the wood flooring I've been looking for and walked me through all of the details I needed to know (glue down/naildown/floating-what all that means; padding, trim needed, installing, etc.) It's such a pleasure working with John! read more

When checking out the website, I saw they have design appointments so I booked it. The website asked me to give square footage and upload pics of my bathroom. I only needed tile for a bathroom shower and was leaning toward a stone. I was hoping to get 2 different sizes and maybe some ideas. I guess I was confused on what a design appt is. I thought they would have layouts of their in stock tile or at least design pics to look through of available tile. Instead the appt was the designer walking me to the tile and showing me where I could find everything so I could browse. Some of the larger tile was out of stock/discontinued and I just couldn't find any matching pieces in different sizes to give me the dual geometry stone look in the shower. Wish I had realized what a design appt really entails. I wouldn't have booked it which required me to leave work early to rush to the appt. Best to have an idea of what you want and pray they have stock of different sizes of tile if you are looking for something dimensional. Don't get me wrong, the designer was nice and when I had questions about stock or the return policy, she was easy to find and helpful. But just not what I had in mind for a design appt and not what the website implied. So want to warn others that a design appt may not be what you expect. And you may want to save time by not uploading pics and detailing your project on the website beforehand because they may not look at it (mine didn't). Honestly, the "design appt" just seems to be a gimmick to get you in the store. read more

My husband and I stopped in to Floor and Decor to see if we could find some tile to redo our master bathroom. We found a floor tile and shower tile we liked and bought one of each to "live with" for awhile. We looked in other stores but could find nothing we liked more even at much higher prices.!So back to F&D we went and there we meet Ace, an incredibly knowledgeable and patient young man who walked us through all the things needed to make this a good installation. (Mind you, we are having a professional do the job.) Ace saved us money where he could, not letting us get things that were unnecessary and even locating matching dye lots of the tiles we needed at the other store. He was so pleasant and gracious he made our whole shopping experience enjoyable and even loaded all the tile into our truck for us. If you choose to shop here you should ask for Ace. F&D hold on to this young man. He is a real asset to your company. read more

This place is amazing. They have a huge inventory, but even better is the level of help. There is a free design center if you don't know exactly what you want or want to do, the folks in the store are super helpful and there is no pressure. The other day, I was walking in ready to make a purchase, and the gentleman who was outside, loading up another customer, welcomed me. I told him I was there to buy tile and when I walked in, he had used his walkie talkie and I was surrounded by people willing to help. I will go nowhere else for my tile needs. I needed tile for my shower walls and walked into this store. It is overwhelming since they have so many options. I wandered a bit in a daze trying to figure out where to begin when I was introduced to Andre. Suddenly the task before me seemed doable. He helped me narrow down the selection and I was able to pick out what I needed. I later had to return to select a different mosaic, since the one I originally chose would not work for my space. I was helped by John Paul and he too did an awesome job of helping me make a selection. When I ordered everything I would need, I was surprised at how low the total price was for all I had purchased. Horrible customer service. I ordered a sample floor from the website, which was lost. (Yes i know nothing to do with this store specifically but just a heads up).I had to call and have them reship. Which was irritating as it was but it turns out I loved the tile. So I braved it and ordered enough tile for my entire project. The shipping to my house was $180! Outrageous. The shipping to the local store was $79, much more reasonable. So I went with this option. I ordered and received my order confirmation and that I would be receiving an email when my order shipped. Low and behold on the 15th (one day later) I received the email that my ordered shipped. Then nothing....nothing for 5days, not even a tracking number. I got on the horn with customer service to get the tracking number. Turns out my order was delivered on the 16th to the store, but no one bothered to call or email me... I called the store to make sure it was there before I drove down to pick it up. Good thing I did....They lost my online order and gave me the run around for 2hours plus. Stating they would call me back with an answer and never did. The couldn't pull up my order with my name, email, phone number, tracking number or order number. They stated there was nothing in the store for me and that there were no orders under my customer profile (even though my CC had been charged). After hounding them about it and being transferred to multiple different people who didn't even seem to know their coworkers names they "magically" found my order in the store (it arrived on the 16th).... no explanation as to where it was or why no one else could find it before...nothing.... Not even and "I am sorry"..... Needless to say I will not be using them again.... read more

I was completely WOWED! today at Floor and Decor by the staff. I am doing 2 bathroom remodels and I have to visit the store quite often since January 2020, where Phyllis was the first to help and Kevin was the one who helped me with the glass tiles I chose. Every time I visit, I am extremely satisfied with the customer service. But today 3/5/2020 the service rep named Andre, went above and beyond and wowed me! I needed 12 out of the supposed 13 schluter corner pieces. they are small like nuts. And if you know what its like to try to find those small items, then you know they get scattered amongst the other bins next to them. Andre was kind enough to help me locate all 12 that I needed! it was Not an easy task as he literally searched everywhere to find all 12 for me. it took some time and while he searched, he still assisted other customers who were patiently waiting. Andre is the epitome of great customer service. But also, Parmer Floor and Decor, in general, is one of the most customer-centric stores you will ever have the pleasure to shop at. To all you Customer Service Managers out there that want to learn what great customer service is, then visit Parmer Floor and Decor and experience it for yourself! I have purchased flooring from this store many times in the past. I was not aware of the design services until my contractor mentioned it to me. Last week I met with Rafael and had an incredible experience. I had a sketch of the floor plan of my mast bath for us to review and to act as a bit of a reference guide for him. He reviewed it and immediately asked two very important questions which the drawing could not relay....how tall is your ceiling and are there any windows in this room. I gave him the info so he could have a complete picture of what he was working with. I had selected some tile I thought would pair well with my vanity and make for a great accent wall in the shower and tub surround but I was stuck figuring out all the other pieces. What would I pair this accent tile with on the main floor in the bathroom? What would I use on the floor of the shower and the remaining walls of the shower? NOT A PROBLEM for Rafael. He had plenty of suggestions, amazing suggestions by the way and he helped explain why he was suggesting each tile. It took us no time to work up a list of products that I am confident are going to result in an absolutely amazing master bathroom. I went into the store confused and slightly intimidated. I had a basic direction but it was Rafael that helped put my mind at ease and assemble a list of products I would have never found on my own. You really should consider calling ahead of time and scheduling an appointment with him. You will thank me for the advice here and Rafael for the advice in the store, I am confident! read more
