Buyer be aware, you will not be able to return any uncut wood plank in a open box even if the sales saff promised you can at the time of purchase. The store supervisor had an impatient and unwelcoming attitude. She kept referencing the return policy not acceptimg open box eventhough the posted policy has no mention of open box but stated that all returns are accepted as long as they are in a resalable condition... This supervisor actually walked away when questioned about the policy. She makes you feel that you are NO ONE and how dare you question her?! Maybe she should get some training on company policy and customer service before she bullies another customer. read more

I've been a Pro customer for years and buy $s in material yet they called me and said they will charge $10 / day for storage . Order was placed 2 days ago and would take 2 days to be ready for pick- up. Today is Black Friday and so am shocked, which for many places is a holiday . It's ok if you decided to stay open . The order was placed online and they lied saying they notified us of storage fees. I spoke to an associate and he said they have plastered that all over the store and I said we placed an order online . I tried to speak to a sales manager Joseph who spoke to me after a 15 minute hold and hung up on me in the middle of a conversation. All in all , another money hungry corporate store that only care about the dollar. Won't be going to them again . My order size was pretty small so it's not like it was taking up big storage . Everyone in this location seems miserable and rude. Except for "kamisha" she is very friendly and makes the perfect example of great customer service. We decided to pick up some base boards and when the guy loaded them, we noticed many of them were chipped and very damaged. We immediately brought that to "David Vargas" attention. He didn't even acknowledge our concerns and began unloading them back off of our truck. I was inspecting one myself and showing him the damages, when he simply continued to pull the rest of the base boards off and ignored us. He told us we could just pick them out ourselves and went inside. We assumed he would tell us where we can pick them out (whether in the back or inside the store)...but he totally ignored us and just left us there. He came back to get a drink and when we said "excuse me" he said "so are you guys gonna go pick them out of what" In shock of his negligent response, decided to just return everything. Horrible experience...not to mention the rude Asian woman talking to another customer in a very condescending way during checkout. This was my first time using floor and decor, and I'm pretty disappointed. I specifically ordered from the company because they advertised the tile as in stock in Burlingame and with pickup ready in 24 hours. Long story short, they never had the stock for this tile. The delays would have not been a big deal, but no one contacted me to tell me of this issue, and no one at that location picks up their phone. I have called more than five times over the course of several days and let it ring for over ten minutes at a time, and no one has answered. He knows the store, what products work/don't work (for my needs), he didn't 'try' to upsell, he made sure we had the amount needed and a bit extra for mistakes/cracked tiles, and was able to guide, in application including grout colors, throughout the purchase. I ordered an item online. First on Dec 16th, and then again on Dec 17th, after my contractor told me he needed more. Floor and Decor estimate ~4wk given it will be shipped from vendor. 8 weeks out, and i am still waiting. I contacted customer care about 4 times on chat, once on phone, and visited the store as well. All that got me was - they made my Dec 17th order ready for pickup on Feb 3rd, but not the Dec 16th order :( for the same item...Why???!! :( It seems the shipment is sitting in their Burlingame location for past several days, based on what one agent told me, and yet they haven't taken it out for me, or, simply failed to provide a useful update on any of the 6 touch points. This place is cheap. You get what you pay for. If you want to run in and grab some cheap tile, this place isn't bad. If you need customer service, go elsewhere. They don't answer their phone. They take 3 business days to respond to email - that's their published response rate they actually NEVER return emails. Their chat is never active. I was supposed to pick up an order between 3 and 4. I'm pulling into F&D at just before 3 and I get an email that I missed my pickup window. I go inside. "No problem," she says. "We'll bring it out to you in a few minutes." At 10 till 4, I have to leave. "No problem," she says. "We'll reschedule you for another date and time." I guess it was no problem for her. She didn't do anything! I'm the one that wasted 2 hours! The original estimate of 7-10 days has been completely blown we're now on day 20. Don't trust their delivery estimates - they lie. Now my delivery window has increased!@#!@#$ AND I'm not scheduled for pickup. I've tried calling - no answer. I tried chatting - systems down. I tried rescheduling on the website - "No order ready for pickup". "No problem," I say. I canceled the order. Luckily, there are plenty of tile places in the Bay Area. A3 Tile provides GREAT SERVICE and reasonable prices. Go there! I did and I got my tile in 3 days, it was ready for pickup when I arrived without waiting. Oh - AND they answer the phone. read more

I've had really good experiences here. When looking for tile, I was first put off by the stock being very conservative white and "greige," but was able to find some things that worked for me. The one glitch was that one box of white tile was of a different color lot than the rest, which was discovered after installation. I have not yet resolved this. Tip: be sure all boxes have the same color lot number! They have a generous return policy, even with open boxes, which is great when you're trying to save money. Staff are very helpful, especially when trying to find trim pieces. Kudos to the staff at the San Leandro store, too, which is HUGE. read more

This review is with the Design Service/Advice at Floor & Decor. I scheduled my appointment online. That was the easy part. Going in was ok and my design consultant was nice and listened in regards to what we we're wanting to do for our bathroom remodels. I had dimensions, pictures of our bathroom(s) and the design(s) I wanted ready and sent to my consultant. I was trying to make the process easier and quick. I was expecting and hoping for more help in picking out better matches to the pictures I brought in of the design idea(s) we wanted. Didn't get much help. Just a walk around the story and pointing out this and that and saying yes or no. I also expected to get a quote then and there on the cost for the materials I would need to do the bathroom(s). I had dimensions. I was told it would be two weeks; before I see a quote. I also asked if they could do a 3D render, so I could see what the tile would look like in my space. I was informed they only do generic pictures and it wouldn't be exact. They weren't kidding on the pictures. I received them and they were no help at all. Not even my bathroom layout. I'm still waiting for a quote and it's been over 2 weeks. Not holding my breath. Don't expect much with the design service. read more

Another tall guy said to the manager I just clocked in but I'm working in the back. Another manager said he would get someone no one came. William was courteous, patient, and made the effort by loading up my cart, taking me to the (helpful and courteous) cashier, and then loading the boxes into my car. This place provided, hands-down, the most stupid attempt at a shopping experience that I've had in a long time. First, good luck finding anyone who can help you or answer any questions at all. Their floor staff do everything they can to avoid making eye contact or being of any help whatsoever. When I did manage to find someone and waited patiently for 5 minutes while they helped another customer, they finally told me I should go up to the front of the store to maybe find someone there instead of talking to them. When I did that, the person I was waiting to ask literally just walked away rather than answer any questions. On top of this, I overheard that rather than the 10 days advertised for shipping of product's to the store, the actual time it's taking right now is 12 weeks. Waste of a trip and a company that is truly not interested in offering anything in the way of customer service of any kind. We went to a store off McCarthy and proceeded to have the worst customer service experience with the cashier that we decided to place the order online instead. If you buy any extra material or the wrong material as long as the boxes are closed, they will return it. What brought me to this place? I was looking for commercial tile for a kitchen the competitors needed to order it. They had it in stock over here, the grout, and the cement. We're also in stock and priced to compete. This place is amazing, even though I've spent far too many hours here with my husband and daughter looking for all the components of our 3 future bathrooms and kitchen floor. We ended up choosing this place for all the hardwood in our house, tile in kitchen and bathrooms, wall tile for all 3 bathrooms, grout, and trim for our showers. Pros: Monstrous selection of bathroom / kitchen floor tiles, decorative tiles in pretty much any pattern you could dream of, super artsy tiles, fake-o wood tiles, engineered wood, laminate, real wood, shower flooring (i.e. pebble flooring), you name it. Brightly lit and spacious showroom and warehouse. Huge displays, and bathroom setups that help you picture how to put together the funkier tile types they have in stock. Creation stations where you can put different tile types together to see how it will look, and check its appearance against subtleties of grout colors (a nightmare of 50 shades of grey, literally) Awesome prices -- we were looking at this place and other warehouses up in South City and the Bayview. I was surprised to find a place with that reasonable of a price point on the peninsula. They allow free design consultation which is key in helping make decisions that have seemingly a billion variables. The last couple times we've worked with design consultant Manal and she is amazing in giving feedback and helping us make the best combo of wall tile, floor tile and coordinating grout for each, while considering the cabinetry and fixtures we've already bought. She is incredible!! Props to Manal and thanks for an awesome experience. Cons: Their design consultants can be pretty stretched in resources between serving all customers and also doing these consults. Some design consultants were not as good as others. The first guy we got was simply not great and I didn't really find the experience valuable. Cramped parking lot, not a lot of spaces. read more

It did take a while for anyone to acknowledge me...it was during the week and in the afternoon, so there weren't many customers. One star less for that. Anyway I spoke to a male associate and to Perla. She is awesome! She took her time showing me the tile and helping me get a better idea of the design I had in mind. I didn't have or make a design appointment I already knew mainly what I wanted. She even helped me load them into my car! You won't be disappointed coming here. We are remodeling the bathrooms in our house in San Francisco and visited a couple places in the City. Didn't really see anything that caught our eye and decided to visit Floor & Decor. Totally glad we did! This place is HUGE and has so many options. There is also a showroom are in the front where you can get some ideas and see some of the tiles/floors. (Speaking of... this place really only sells floors and tiles, and I am totally ok with that. Just wish I knew where they got some of the bath fixtures and lights in the showroom!) Amazing customer service as well... especially from BARRY! He has been so helpful both times we were there. He is definitely very knowledgeable about the products in the store and has a great eye for design. When you first walk in, it is a little overwhelming, but Barry and the other employees are so helpful. There is definitely a method to selecting floors and tiles, and we are so happy that Barry was able to point us in the right direction. He has been so patient with us and has excellent taste! Stopped by here on a Sunday and it was relatively slow. This is by far the nicest flooring place I've been to. Very organized and neatly displayed - i like how they show you tile samples on a board with ~10sqft giving you an idea of how a section would look rather than just 1 tile like most places. The reason this place gets 5 stars? The staff - special shout out to Fernando - who stopped by and asked us if we needed any help and ended up helping me put over 1000lbs of tile onto a cart and then again to load it into my car. Definitely appreciate the extra mile to help! Would recommend to anyone looking for flooring or tile... they've got a really big selection. read more

This place looks like a Smart N Final on the outside but a HomeDepot for everything tile on the inside! I was looking for a larger piece of white tile to make a shower niche. Every else I had to buy a whole box this place had them by the piece and still half the price as all the other stores. Every where else's I had to order and the quickest they could get it to me was a few days. FD has a lot of inventory and you can buy what you need. Why didn't I find this place sooner! At least I can tell others for future purchases. read more
