I have been to otter mom and pop stores where even if it's the stores mistake there is so much h hassle to return or replace the material. A designer named Amin helped us with our bathroom designs. Barry, at floor and decor made our experience buying flooring really great. We recently purchased a home and were looking to update all of the floor with hardwood and tile/marble. I went to Floor and Decor to buy material and get advice for a bathroom remodel. I needed to know what exactly goes and doesn't go and for design inspiration. I was assisted by Perla and Manal. Both were super nice and helpful. Peral even stayed a little over her time to go home just to schedule my appointment for the next day(I came in the night before). When I came the next day I met with Perla and Manal joined us shortly after for design ideas, tips. I was so unsure and Manal put me at ease and gave great suggestions and advise. She even walked me thru the best color for grout and all the other stuff you'll need for tile work. A remodel is such an overwhelming, stressful thing; itsnice to have someone help with your ideas and to make sure it's going to look beautiful! Part of that stress is finding specific materials to match the designs of our Pinterest inspirations. Floor & Decor has so many options and can be very overwhelming at first. But luckily, we had the help of their best employee, Stephanie! She was extremely patient and helpful. Very knowledgeable about every product on the floor and where items are specifically located. Even held up samples together for us to take photos of. When we ran into some troubles with finding the right marble tiles for our floors, she went out of her way to call other stores to help locate more inventory for us. And in the rare event that she didn't know the answers to my question, she didn't hesitate to ask her managers. This was by far the best service we've ever received from any home improvement store. I have been to more tile and flooring stores that I can count over the years for at least six remodeling projects...some as small as a kitchen; others involving an entire house. This past weekend I ventured to the Floor & Decor store in Burlingame, after visiting their store in Glendale, AZ and making most of the selections for a complete house remodel....which included plank ceramic floors throughout the house; tile for 2 bathrooms & showers, a kitchen backsplash, and exterior stone trim. My first contact with Burlingame was actually the day before I visited the store, calling their Pro Premier Desk and speaking with "Liz" who made a valiant effort to call a number of their stores trying to locate a shower accent tile which had been discontinued. Undaunted, I drove up to the store in Burlingame and met "Liz" in person and asked her to write up and price a whole-house order. I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with how she treated me, and the lengths to which she went to find us the tile we needed, locate pieces at other Floor and Decor facilities, pull some of the smaller quantities to take with me, and gathering together all of the information needed to set up a delivery in the coming days. Horrible customer service! It is impossible to reach a live person at the Burlingame store to ask about something, arrange for delivery, or even confirm delivery. I have tried repeatedly to contact the store. No one is available by phone or email. The store manager's email address is bogus and fails to send. I had to drive 30 minutes to the store on numerous occasions just to speak to someone. The managers always seem to be in meetings and unable to communicate with customers. At the store I was finally able to get a sales associate to try and help me schedule a delivery, however I have received no communication from what they call their "command center" to confirm the delivery. This "command center" is supposed to be the main operations center where they do all the scheduling. I don't think they exist because I have never been able to reach them. Don't believe them when they say they will call you back. It never happens!! Forget about trying to reach them with their chat option. That is only a virtual assistant and NEVER a live person. If you want to spend your money at a "fend for yourself" store with no customer service, then you might be happy with this store. I don't like spending thousands of dollars and not being able to arrange or confirm a delivery. Now I'm stuck having to pay people to be at a job site to wait for a delivery that might never happen. Wish I could give them 10 stars. Best flooring store in the Bay Area. I've bought materials for two floors there now. They have the coolest designs (not your basic boring tile. They also have wood flooring) It's the size of a Costco and has a bunch of mini bathrooms made up to get ideas from. You can return unused tiles and samples. Prices are great. HORRIBLE customer service for tiles which arrived broken. I have purchased tile for my whole house here, without problems. In the boxes I picked up this morning, several of the tiles in the middle of the box were broken, in a star pattern, as though something had been dropped on them at the factory, and then covered up with other tiles. When I called to ask about a credit, a very rude woman with a heavy accent refused to listen and screamed "not our problem you broke them no refund no refund" When I asked her to listen to me, she hung up. I have photos which clearly show that its impossible that I broke them. It is amazing to me that Floor & Decor handles factory breakage in this manner. There's no real way to contact the store manager. The corporate office is in Atlanta. I will likely dispute the charges on my credit card and get a refund for the broken tiles from the credit card co. read more

My husband and I recently bought our first home, and as a first project decided to redo the floors. This has turned out to be a much bigger project than we initially anticipated (learnings of a first time home buyer). We made an appointment with their in-house design team (Manal) - and we are so glad we did! Manal was wonderful to work with - incredibly patient, thoughtful, took the time to educate us and explain all of our options. Customer service was horrible! My boyfriend and I waited at the customer service register for over 2 hours. All we needed was to place an order of bamboo floor and for some given reason no one was able to help, no one knew how to do the job. so what does that say about their employees right? We kept getting told to hold on because someone was going to come over to help, 30 minutes went by, 1 hour, 1.5 hours and nothing! My boyfriend and I decided to leave because we were so disappointed specially because so many employees passed by and no one bothered to help. As we were leaving the store my boyfriend thought it was probably a good idea to go back into the store and talk to a manager, since we did drive 45 minutes just visit that store. The manager walked passed us twice, completely ignored us, then when another family walked in the manager helped them right away. What a horrible experience. My boyfriend then asks the manager why she ignored us twice, but helps a family that just walked in? The manager then replies "oh you guys needed help?" I'm so upset right now specially since my boyfriend is a general contractor who always buys from them! Maybe they just didnt bother helping because we are Latinos, that would explain their low interest to help us. Anyway, I hope this never happens to any of you! read more

5 stars for Manal!! We just bought our first home and are in the process of total remodel. We had gone to floor and decor several times looking around but we didn't even know where to start. The store has great options but deciding which direction to go in and putting it all together seemed overwhelming.... until we met Manal. She is so good at her job. She is so professional and really has an amazing eye for detail and such artistic design ideas. We never really knew exactly what we were looking for but each time we met with her we would present our fragmented thoughts and every single time she was able to immediately put us on the right path. She helped us with everything from design, tile, grout, trim, hardwood floor, even marble sealer...she is super knowledgeable in all of these things! She is so patient, kind and really makes you feel like she is invested in the project. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Thank you Manal! read more

Consumers beware: Went to the store in Burlingame and was told that they contract with a company that schedules flooring installations/measurements. I called to schedule an appt. I received an email from the company today and was told my request has been closed because the company that would've been assigned does not go out my way. What?! The company is in Discovery Bay, the work is in Lathrop. That is about 29 miles/about 30 min away. Apparently, it depends on who is in their system to do the contract work. I called the Rocklin store as well, same thing. Both stores couldn't answer any of my questions. They lost my business on this one!! How disappointing and inconvenient!! Open more stores in NCAL or hire more companies to do your contract work of measurement and installation. Better yet, they need to take out the middle man!! Makes better business, but you probably know that already. What a shame! read more

I give this place 5 stars because of the following workers Ziadeh, Casey, Quentin, and Guido. I hope I'm spelling their names correct. They were so nice, so helpful, I mean very helpful and went over and beyond. I was actually going to stop shopping here because of one employee who kicked me out the store because I got there 5min to closing and said he couldn't ring me up because they closed the registered at 5pm. I literally was done at 5pm. I knew what I wanted and literally was down at 5pm. I was furious because I called prior and another worker said as long as I got there before 5pm I will be ok, which I did. I got there 5min before. I drove all the way from San Francisco. I'd rather not say say who it was, I would rather say the names of the positive people. Anyhow, the gentlemen I mentioned really changed my mind about this store. Also very clean and again the guys mentioned really saved my ill feelings towards this store. read more

This store has a tremendous selection of tile. It is a large facility and all the tile is out and on display. Many of the tiles are presented on small partitions so you can really get a great idea of how the tile looks when it is installed. The personnel are friendly and you are greeted and assisted as soon as you enter. I found some difference in knowledge and service among the associates. Some just help you get your tile together and buy it. One employee ( sorry I didn't get his name, a 40ish male) gave information about installation, requirements for the tile I was interested in etc). The person who helped me was very nice, but did not provide any technical support, so to speak. I had to make several trips to pick up the tile I purchased because it was too heavy to take in one load. Hathim, in the pick up section was extraordinary. He not only assisted me with my pick ups, he went out of his way to help me get the one tile that wasn't in stock when I made my purchase. He checked on its location and progress and called me a couple times to update me on its progress. Other employees, including a manager, just said sorry, it's not here yet, with no offer to follow through on it for me. Along with great selection and reasonable prices, Hathim is the main reason I will definitely return to Floor and Decor for future tile purchases. read more
