I purchased tile and grout for our bathroom remodel back in November 2021 and like most home projects, it was delayed quite a bit. The tiling was finally done this past week so I went to return my excess tile/grout (about $450 worth) and was refused since the receipts were past the 90 days. They told me to call The Retail Equation if I want to dispute their denial, which I did and was then told that I had to submit a dispute via US mail to have them reconsider (why wouldn't they want an email is beyond me). I could understand if the tile or grout was dated, on clearance, in low quantities, etc. but it is not. As a matter of fact, there are 190 pieces available just at this store PLUS the price increased by $1/piece over what I paid. There are 70 boxes of the wall tile in stock at the same price. The grout is available in the same colors at the store as well as other home improvement stores so it is not a discontinued item. All these hoops to jump thru for products that they have in stock... their receipt even states that "returns over 90 days from purchase or without an original sales receipt will be processed to merchandise credit." While I understand that they have the "right to limit or deny returns", these items were still in their unopened boxes. They claim to empower their store managers to create a local shopping experience... if this experience is what you desire, visit the Countryside, IL location. While I liked their tile and selection, it will be the first and last time I shop at Floor & Décor.

The tile is really inexpensive. My bathroom alone will cost $48! These guys are amazing! Know your square footage and BAMM!

A friend heard good things about KB&B so I made an appointment and met with Kim. I cannot say enough positive comments about her. She took the time to listen to what we wanted, looked at pics of our current bathroom, and was very direct with what could and could not be done given our dimensions and budget. She was very professional and we left the store confident we were headed in the right direction. Mario (owner) came out a few days later to measure and take pics. He was professional and also straight to the point. The quote was a bit higher than we had hoped, but we felt good about the design and items we selected. Items were ordered and Kim kept us updated on their status since it was several months before they could even start constructions. Once they started, we realized why they cost a little more than the average Joe contractor. Every contractor (4 different guys) were each phenomenal. They treated our home like it was theirs. They were all very clean, very detailed, and they ended up doing a few extra repairs outside of the contract (with my permission). Kris was the main contractor and was here the most and I would give him more than 5 stars. The painter is expertly skilled and I can't tell where the drywall repairs were done. The crew also was very careful around our dogs and didn't leave any doors open. The final project exceeded our expectations. We noticed a few paint touch ups that were needed and Mario sent someone out - a week after the job was done and the check was cashed. They all take pride in their work and I feel really wanted to do whatever they could to have me as a satisfied customer. Make an appointment, rather than just walking in - Kim is busy. Bring in pics and measurements if you can to help her out. They won't be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I would hire KB&B again and encourage everyone reading this to check them out.

After reviewing the scope of the project, it was estimated that it would take a week and a half to complete. Not only did it take over a month to eventually complete, the days that the team would work were unpredictable. On several occasions, as the team would leave for the day, they would tell us they will be back tomorrow, and then not show up. Or, they wouldn't be able to tell us when they would come next, and would surprise us a few days later. They ended up needing to complete this project after I had delivered my baby (original timeline would've been completed weeks prior to my due date). Additionally, we noticed there were a few design decisions that were made without consulting us, like the drywall of the shower/re-installation of the water gauge (it's now not flush with the wall and very loose) and the selection of tile at the base of the shower that doesn't match the floor. He had offered to come fix the water gauge, but after coming to look at the issue, he has not gotten back to us in 5 weeks. I had high hopes for this project, and while it still looks nice, the lack of communication made it really difficult to want to recommend Peter or use his team again for future projects.
