Prices are good here compared to other stores. The major problem was when we went to pick up our order. We had purchased our tile five days earlier and everything was in stock at that time. We were told our order could be picked up any day during the next 7 days. We came back 5 days later. We waited over an hour in our truck out back waiting for them to load our order up. We were the only customer waiting when we arrived, over an hour later we were still waiting and 9 more cars came in behind us. I was overwhelmed when I stopped in to get flooring, wall tile, bathroom tile, etc. I knew the vision I had, but trying to find everything that would go together was going to be difficult. And then along came Debbie Velez. What a wonderful person! She spent a long time with me, listening to what was in my mind (my vision) and then giving me support as we talked about what would go together. She didn't try to influence me because it was my vision, but she did offer suggestions and options. And then she went the extra mile to make sure all my purchases were in stock and held for me for my contractor to pick up 2 days later. What a great experience I had! What I liked: it's a massive warehouse full of tile and wood flooring options. They have a decent selection of mesh-mounted tiles ideal for the DIY'er working on a small job and a very wide variety of designs and materials for more experienced tile action. Several things were very well thought out, including numerous tables for laying out tiles to ensure you liked the design, and a display of how the various grouts they sell will look when dry, so you don't have to rely on a photo on the box. They also stock the full set of items you'll need to complete your job like spacers, grout floats, sponges, etc, at reasonable prices. Another review mentioned a pricing issue with the actual tiles though, and I believe this happened to me as well. The price at the register was almost twice as high as the price displayed on the shelf and I have no clue what logic they apply to calculate 'per item' prices. I was only purchasing about 3 square feet (on mesh, so I could divide it into 1" strips and get 36 linear feet of border) so I didn't care to debate it as I just wanted to go home and get started on my tile job but the woman in front of me had the same problem, was purchasing quite a bit of tile and actually brought the sign from the shelf up to the front to argue the point. The cashier was entirely unmoved so I got the impression this happens with some regularity - I can only recommend that if you're not working from the "price is no object" standpoint, maybe find someone on the floor to help you figure out if "what it says on the tin" differs from what your actual cost would be at the register. read more

They also have a great selection of sinks and wall tiles. They also offer tumbled tile and decorative pieces, and the prices are pretty good compared to other flooring stores. **Predatory leanding** I just finished paying off my store credit account which had "18mth no interest" which was actually 18mt differed interest. In store at time of application for the store credit I was offered "18month no interest". I was told no penalty if paid early and if I go past the 18 month, interest would only apply to the remaining balance like usual credit card promotions. To my surprise after paying what I thought would be the last payment at the 19th month mark I was charged the full 18months worth of interest. At no time on store was a deferred interest account discussed. And the company has refused to remove the charges because it was supposedly stated that I would be charged the full 18 months interest. It did however state the deadline and that if I did not make the deadline i may be charged. But in store I was told no charges so why should I be concerned? read more

This review is for their horrible pick up policies & procedures. We bought flooring here & were never told we had to make an appointment to pick up our items. We got there the 1st time & were told we couldn't pick up because we needed an appointment. So, we made an appointment for the next day at 4. I took off work early to meet my husband. We get there & were told something must have happened because our appointment wasn't in the system. So we reschedule AGAIN (3rd time trying to pick up our items) for Sunday morning, "anytime after 7 am when we open" said the guy in pick up. So we scheduled for 8 am and I asked "are you open at 8?" And he said they were. My husband gets there at 8 & is told he has to come back at 10 because pick isn't open. And, apparently they can't check on the appointment for him either, because they're on a different system. Honestly, some of us don't have time to keep coming back & forth because the scheduling department can't get their act together! I had the worst customer service experience here EVER. I had purchased some baseboard tile here, installed them and went back a week later to get more. There were none on the shelf. I was told by a staff person that there were supposed to be 45 in stock but they could not find them, the item was discontinued (they wouldn't be getting more) and they could order some from the Lakeland store. An hour and half later, I got 20 pieces of tile ordered to complete my job. I got a call about a week later from a customer service person saying that the tile was in, but 9 out of the 20 I ordered were broken. I spoke to the manager, and insisted that I get a refund for all the shipping charges (as almost half my order was broken). He reluctantly agreed, "as it was Christmas Eve". Whatever. I went back to the store to pick the 11 whole pieces up and went by the shelf where the item I ordered was supposed to be stocked. To my surprise, there were two and a half whole boxes of the "DISCONTINUED" tile I had spent 90 minutes the week before ordering from another store only to get most of them broken. The manager was condescending and flippant. Didn't care that the order was part of an ongoing project I was anxious to finish and, to cap it off, ONLY THREE, not ELEVEN, were still whole after being shipped. If there were not more of the "discontinued" item on the shelf, I would have to wait for more broken tiles to be shipped from another location. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. I purchased a Wingwood hardwood floor from F&D in October 2018. The adhesive they recommended was SikaBond T-21. F&D advertises on their website that no moisture testing is required to use this Sikabond T-21 adhesive that is protrayed to be all-in-one moisture barrier. All that is required is dry concrete floors and is not affected by moisture or vapor. After paying a professional contract to install it in November 2018 the hardwood floor started cupping a few days after completion. After the contractor inspected the cupping he says the issue was with the Sikabond T-21 adhesive. I then went to the store with the complaint and they gave me a claim form. On December 21, 2018 I filed my claim with a given response time of 3-5 working days. They responded in January 2019 that I needed to have an inspection performed by one of their approved independent forensic flooring inspectors at my cost of 300.00. I had the 2 hour inspection performed with the opinion of the non-biased professional flooring inspector that the SikaBond T-21 failed and it should fall under their warranty. F&D and Sikabond apparently didn't like the independent inspectors result and sent out an employee who did a 10 minute look around and left. In February Floor & Decor declined the claim despite having evidence of SikaBond T-21's failure with physical and photographic proof backing up the independent non-biased licensed forensic inspectors report stating that this should be covered under warranty. I am out $9000.00 with nothing to show for it and Floor & Decor does not care. I am pursuing a legal remedy currently. Let this be a warning to future customers of Floor & Decor and Sikabond. Based upon the experience I just had when the proof of product failure is overwhelmingly undeniable, they still will NOT honor warranties. You will have better luck at another brand store. read more

As General Contractors through the Nation, we have had the worst experience with this supplier, they have limited inventory of their products, this means you can get short on material in the meddle of your job and then there is nothing you can do at respect though they tell you they can do nothing. In addition to that we have experience that they require for the purchaser to be present with ID and Credit Card to pick up the merchandise, for us this is an obstacle in our operation though nor Superintendent or any body can go to pick up the goods if you are not present, creating a problem in the operation not allowing the job to keep on flowing, so in other words you have to be there, if you are in other project in another city or state, there is no way you can keep on moving the project. We recommend every Contractor not to buy from this supplier, your operation could be at risk. read more

Two of eight staff members were really responsive and helpful. We were looking for backsplash tile. When we found what we wanted, we went looking for help on ordering. We passed two groups of staff who seemed to eager to talk among themselves than to customers. We found one young woman staffer alone and she immediately took us back to the tile shelf, calculated how many boxes we needed and asked if we needed grout and thinset and pointed to another section of the store. Once we got to the grout section, the young male staffer thought a moment about my question of, "Do you know how to calculate how much grout I need?" Then said, "I'm busy helping this other customer; let me call for help." And he did and walked away. Five minutes later, I found an older male staffer and he immediately took interest in what I was doing. I had a bucket of grout in my hand and he asked if the glass tile I had in my cart was the reason I needed the grout. After hearing my affirmation, he asked, "Do me a favor and don't use it." "Huh?", I responded. He said the tile would be too easy to scratch with that grout, and steered me to a powder grout and asked, "How many square feet of tile do you have?" I answered and he put two bags of powder in my cart along with instructions on how to use it, including making sure I used ice cold refrigerated water for a quick set. Then one back of thinset. Then he steered me to a couple of caulking tubes and some edging; hmmmm, my contractor didn't tell me to buy any of this stuff. Not sure I'll use the metal edging if my contractor can polish the edge of the glass brick tile. Anyway, ask for Ray if you're ever by the grouting section. read more

We purchased a waterproof laminate at Floor and Decor and the flooring was absolutely splotchy in the sense that each piece of plank had a different sheen than the next one. It was truly no fault of ours that this floor, installed by a professional, should look so horrible and this company does NOTHING to correct the problem. I looked up the reviews on this particular plank flooring and it was a problem from the get go and no one got any relief or reimbursement from this dishonest company. I'm convinced they sell "seconds" and then you have to live with the horrible results or rip it out like we did. Never again! read more

But fortunately we had an employee to help us with everything because a designer was not available. I always go to Floor & Decor first for all my flooring needs. I was introduced to Floor & Decor about 3 years ago when I wanted to put in a bamboo floor in my previous home. The product was excellent and the price could not be beat. This time I was looking for a backsplash for my kitchen remodel. As I walk in, I usually notice a person from the design department smiling and offering to help. I usually ignore them and continue off on my own. This time while looking for some backsplash, my wife and I, asked the opinion from an associate named Laura or Lora from the Lakeland, FL design department for advice (because I am really inexperienced) and she was great. I really did know it was a free service. She brought together different Backsplash samples the profiles and even showed it with a matching display cabinet door as a prop. She found us the perfect Backsplash, a profile to go with and even the perfect thinset and grout. Associates like her really raise the bar for customer service in the remodeling and design profession of the building and construction industry. We will continue to come back to Floor and Decor for all of our Floor and remodeling needs. read more
