We drove all over the Bay Area looking for materials for our remodel project. We went to Floor & Decor with modest expectations. Their design consultant; Cynthia Suzuki was outstanding! She had expert knowledge on choosing the right type of tile and coordinating the grout to accentuate the tones of the tile. She designed a custom look with three types of tile. It was like we got a high end interior decorator for free!! Our project looks like a million dollars! Our friends think we spent a fortune but it was really affordable. Shopping for new flooring for our kitchen, laundry and family room. The store was not busy. I was approached by a saleswoman but was not yet ready for help as I was looking for my husband. After I found him in this enormous store, I went to customer service to request someone for help. She summoned "Andy." We told Andy that we wanted to learn about pros, cons, and properties of different flooring options, for area of the house at risk for water leaks. He kept trying to steer us to discussing style, look and aesthetics, and did not seem knowledgable on the issues of our concerns. At least 3 times I said that deciding on style and appearance will happen only after we decide on what product (hardwood, tile, luxury vinyl product.) Overall left with no confidence in the sketchy information Andy offered. He said he had worked there about one year. The store is huge with lots of flooring options. If you know what you want, perhaps it would be perfect for you. Andy did not inspire confidence in us. He did not offer to find another salesperson with more product knowledge. read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Our experience was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. We purchased 3 different tiles for our bathroom, one of which we based our whole project around and absolutely loved! Well they didn't have enough at the store so we ordered the additional boxes to come in a week or two later. When it came in, the labels on the boxes, item numbers and colors all matched but when we went to install we realized that there were two very different colors and upon further comparison found the individual tiles had two different SKU numbers. They were selling two different SKU numbers under the same item number. So we went to the store because surely they'd make this right, right? WRONG. We found out the manufacturer made a SKU/color change and was in the process of phasing out the old one. Which is what we ordered and which was still on the floor and on the sample wall. It was known by management, yet they still had the old color and product on the sales floor (we ordered in April, found the error in May) and they didn't immediately try to make it right they tried really hard to say it was our fault somehow. After much arguing about how we wouldn't get a refund for the few boxes we had used already of the wrong color because apparently it was our responsibility to not only check the boxes and item numbers but scan each tile SKU individually, they said the LA store had the tile. We were told a manager at the LA store physically walked over and checked the SKU and shade and pulled it from the floor that day to ship to the Rocklin store so we went ahead and put out another $140 to get the tile we loved and just move on. Come to find out no one ever pulled the tile at the LA store. So we waited again and it came and it was again two different color tiles. Its now July and guess what? No tile. It has magically disappeared from any and all stores. When we called the store today for status, the manager on-duty, Kelsey did not have 1 ounce of customer service skills to say gosh I'm really sorry you've been through this 3 month ordeal, is there anything we can do to make this right? Maybe we can help select a different tile at a discount? NO. In fact, there was just more blame and at one point she even told my husband that he should've checked every tile individually because that's what "contractors do!" Floor and Decor, Is that how you train your people to talk to customers? We will absolutely never shop here again and unfortunately for Kelsey, my husband is a contractor so not only will you lose our personal business but we will not use you or recommend you professionally either. Ultimately, we got a refund of all our tile and we would like to recognize Michael Tan who is a supervisor in the warehouse. He was the only employee out of at least 5 or 6 who seemed to genuinely care about us as customers, acknowledge the store/manufacturers mess up, didn't blame the customer, called other stores and followed through when he said he'd call. I finally checked this place out as we are redoing our floors downstairs. I almost forgot about this place. I had already been to Lowes and Home Depot and had scheduled an estimate date with Home Depot. Now that I have seen what Floor and Decor has available I am cancelling my Home Depot plans. I was VERY impressed with the selection at Floor and Decor. They had the extremely water resistant laminate flooring (aqua guard), which is similar to what I was looking at in Home Depot. The quality seems much better here. Each plank was heavy duty!! And they had twice as many colors, samples to view in store AND to take home for $5 a plank (I can return the planks for full refund). Home Depot samples are a joke (3x5 inches). With the samples at Floor and Decor I can actually see what the floors will look like. Both men I talked to were extremely knowledgable and helpful. A Special Thank you to Nate and Katrina, for their Excellent Customer Service. Nate was very helpful, and knowledgeable. We told him we were looking for Tile that looked like wood for flooring in our home office. He encouraged us to take home several samples to deceide which tile would look best in our home. I hesitated at first but was so gratefull to learn that yes it does make a difference to see the samples at home. When we returned, Nate helped us again, and made sure all the tiles we were purchasing were from the same lot. He also gathered up all the other supplies my husband needed to complete the job. Double check your order!!! We purchased a large quantity of bamboo from the store in Rocklin, California. The order has different widths and four colors. They have a large display with the bamboo laid out and the sales crew instructed us on the proper cutting and placement of pieces to mimic the display. We followed their instructions only to discover that their display was not organized correctly and if you follow it, you'll be short a number of white pieces of wood. We laid approximately 1200 square feet and have no white pieces of wood left and a shortage of the darker wood. They have refused to assist, return, or adjust the order. The customer service has been TERRIBLE. Contacted corporate, no response. We have filed suit against company. *Update - please note that if you plan to file a small claims suit against this company, their legal name is Floor and Decor Outlets of America. My husband and I were referred to Floor & Decor by our realtor and we are so glad we took his recommendation! We needed to buy tile for our showers but we had never purchased tile for such a project before. We began by browsing the demo area at the front of the store, but soon realized that we needed some professional help. We purchase the AquaGuard Saddle Creek laminate. This laminate is rated 5 for commercial use. We thought it would be very good quality. Boy were we wrong. We had Pergo floors installed previously, so our floors are level, but decided to replace them for a wider and less red laminate. The boards chipped when installing, they only lock in at the ends and the locking part constantly breaks off. The boards were also warped. We are soooo frustrated with this product. We tried to return the warped boards, but they blamed it on us and said we must have left them outside to long. I feel like we have been deceived by this company. In no way shape or form should this product be rated for commercial use. It's crap, don't buy it! Oh and it's also a lot louder, even when barefoot. read more

Employees are completely clueless and will tell you anything you want to hear to make the sale. We purchased floors and confirmed repeatedly that they would be here on the day promised and they confirmed that they would. When our contractor showed up to pick up the floors two days after it was supposed to arrive, he was told that they would not be there for at least another week. They had the material at another store, but wanted us to cover the shipping cost. After speaking to multiple employees and realizing that they could care less about fixing out situation, we got a full refund and found similar product at another shop for a lower cost. read more

I would be remiss if I didn't share our experience with those who rely on Yelp for guidance when selecting a vendor to use for home remodeling projects where customer service, quality, price and availability are all issues to be considered. Floor & Decor in Rocklin scores 100% in each of these categories! We are all operating under very difficult circumstances these days with this virus taking over our lives but I can tell you for sure that customer service didn't skip a beat at this store. We live in Fremont and all of their locations close to us have closed. We went online and called the Rocklin store to find out if we could get our laminate. The first person we spoke to was Darian...she actually went well out of her way to be courteous (even calling us back when the line dropped) and listened to our needs. She put us in touch with the right person to help. Michael Tan, one of the store's managers, was fabulous. He walked our order through and helped us in every way possible. I hope this company knows how lucky they are to have the staff they do. We drove from Fremont to Rocklin to pick up our order. It was perfect, they had the entire operation set up so all they had to do was lower the pallet with the laminate into my husbands truck curbside and we drove off. My husband is a contractor and now he finally has time to do our floors! With the help of Michael Tan and Floor & Decor in Rocklin, he's doing just that. Oh, and by the way, we love the laminate. My contractor starts our bathroom shower job next week and asked that I go into Floor & Decor to pick out shower wall tile, shower floor tile, and grout. I walked into this store and anxiety took over! I walked around for awhile looking for someone to help me. Apparently you need to make an appt ahead of time with a designer for the kind of help I needed. Needless to say I didn't have an appt which caused even more anxiety. Out of nowhere comes this guy named Dan. He could see the confused look on my face. I kid you not, within 20-30 minutes, thanks to Dan, I had EVERYTHING picked out PERFECTLY. When planning a large project that impacts your home it would be extremely reassuring to have someone who is knowledgeable to help guide you. We purchased some beautiful granite for kitchen counters in 10/17. At least the pieces on display were beautiful. When the granite installers picked up our pieces for install recently, the installers called and said the granite looked too damaged to be usable. We spoke with a gentleman at the receiving dock at Floor and Decor, who informed us that only one small corner was damaged. When the installers arrived at our home with the three eight foot pieces, all three had scratches and cracks throughout and were completely unusable. We had to send them back and delay completion of the work, including lack of a kitchen sink, of course. We scrambled with the installers that day to another well known granite store in the greater Sacramento area. They had a phenomenal selection, and the price was 40% of the Floor and Decor prices. This was also for a higher quality granite. Also, you pick the exact granite pieces that will be used in your home. The only reason I can give two stars, instead of one, is because the showroom does have lots of beautiful granite, stone, and tile, and I don't really like giving only one star!
