Good experience, though I didn't end up buying from them. I didn't feel rushed at all as I walked around and looked at the samples. Then, when I was ready to have questions answered suddenly the manager, Andrew, was there to help. He took the time to give me some advice, answer questions, and carefully rang up on my samples. He advised me about when I could return them and how an order would work if I went with them. Nothing felt pushy. I received a few emails while I was making my decision - just checking in, but again, I didn't feel pushed. Just returned the tiles and while I didn't place an order with them, the guy who took them back was extremely friendly and very kind. I was kinda underwhelmed by the service here. I went in last week on a Monday morning- around 11am and there was one other shopper and two sales staff. No one seemed interested in helping me. It was my first time there and it was a large showroom and I didn't even know where to start. Some guidance would've been helpful. The salesman did tell me they could order a sample of there wasn't one I saw. In my browsing I noticed almost every piece I liked didn't have a sample there. The prices definitely seemed high ($35/square foot) for some porcelain tile. I understand some pieces may be unique but the prices maybe could be more competitive. It seemed like too much effort to have them order a bunch of samples just for me to take home so I left empty handed. read more

Went in today and was helped by a young lady named Betty. Best customer service I've experienced from the 6 or so tile stores I've visited. She understood our requirement and took us to the right set of options and then efficiently walked us through the order process. She also coordinated an order with the Tysons store for a sample that they had in stock (and the sample was ready for us when we arrived at Tysons). I took one star off because 1) the hours were not updated for Saturday on Yelp and many people (including us) showed up at 9 am and found out it was open at 10 am 2) the hours needs to better accommodate working professionals and contractors read more

The tile shop has a large selection of tile for flooring, backsplash, walls and etc. The sales rep Christian was personable and knowledgeable. When we went back again, we worked with Tre, and another gentleman, both of whom were fabulous and helped us from initial design and selection of materials for our kitchen backsplash, to decisions and final purchase - all in under 2 hours, and we absolutely love our choices. They have a great selection and showcase but the employees don't tell you that in order to return excess pieces, you have to do so within 60 days of purchase. Despite being able to see my account and what was purchased, I wasn't able to return unused tile pieces and grout. So disappointed. While we were pleased with the Tile Shop itself and the help we received when we accepted delivery we noticed that they packed seven boxes of the wrong color floor tile. After a phone call it was resolved and they sent the tile that we ordered. However, the delivery company that they utilized had a driver/delivery person that was totally incompetent!!! He was supposed to take back the seven boxes of the wrong color tile but attempted to take back the entire order including our wall tiles and grout!!. I told the driver six or seven times not to do it and had to resort to threatening to call the police if he stole the wall tile we had paid for previously. The delivery slip stated the seven box delivery and pickup - not a 22 box pickup!! The guy didn't even read to slip!! After about one hour and calls to both the delivery company and the Tile Shop the issue was finally corrected. However, it did take a whole bunch of yelling to get the driver to listen. If you buy from this store please be careful of the delivery so that you don't have to go through what I had to. User's recommendation: Be careful of the delivery company!!! read more

The Tile Shop Springfield is the absolute worst. I have nothing but trouble with the Tile Shop. After a long delay, I spoke with the Tile Shop yesterday about delivery today. I was explicit about asking for the tile to be delivered to my garage in back. The Tile Shop assured me that the delivery guys would call prior to delivery and then put all tile in my garage. I was surprised by a text from the Tile Shop that "your tile is delivered." I went out to my front porch and it was sitting outside my door. 250+ lbs of tile blocking my door and porch. I cannot open my storm door. THREE (3) CALLS LATER to the manager and still no response. I have to chase them down and they don't care. Vague promises and the tile is still on my front porch. One of the boxes looks damaged. Unbelievably inept, exceptionally poor customer service. RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THE TILE SHOP IN SPRINGFIELD. read more

The Tile Shop has the most beautiful selection of the many tile shops we visited.  Despite its reputation for being high end (read expensive), its prices are actually quite competitive even with F&D, which states its prices per unit (instead of per sqft) in order to look cheaper.  Even though other places also have trendy selections, the quality of The Tile Shop's pieces (heft, hue, style) is noticeably better.  Being a maximizer who has to see everything out there, I eventually learned not to waste my time going anywhere else. Their service is also heads and shoulders above the rest.  Paul Carroll at The Tile Shop patiently helped us pick out several types of tile that we needed for multiple projects:  backsplash, flooring, fireplace.  Both his knowledge of tiling technique and sense of artistry gently steered us in the right direction.  His expertise was particularly invaluable because we largely finalized our choices while still in California.  When we encountered availability issues with our initial choices, he got creative and recommended terrific alternatives.  Because of Paul, we landed with selections that tied well with our color schemes--some of which we would never have thought of on our own.  If you need someone with an artistic eye, I highly recommend you speak to Paul. read more

The tile shop is a medium to higher end store that offer lots of selections of tiles for all areas of your house. It's easy to find-it's right across the street from Springfield mall (next to Micheals), there is plenty of parking, and everything is laid out really well for people to browse for ideas. My husband and I have been here a few times, and never really needed an associate, but have been asked if we needed help a few times. My understanding is they pretty much let you browse at your own pace. This past visit we came with our contractor and picked out tile for my bathroom and no one said a word to us. For us that was fine, I'm sure for someone that actually needed assistance that would not have been. Our contractor ordered everything we needed and we had everything within a week. Construction took just under two and the end result is gorgeous. I'm very happy with the tiles we picked out. read more

Asked to pick up at Springfield store as condo it's going to be installed at is in Arlington. Walked into springfield store and waited around. Asked for help, but they were busy pow wow-ing about football. Finally deigned to help, and told me to drive around back to pick up. At least the guy out back was nice and carried the tiles to my car. Thanks ponytail dude! backsplash was installed at Arlington condo, and sure enough I was another 3 sheets short. Nice measurements, Manassas guy! Ordered tile online on a Monday. Was assured about Saturday availability. I drive up to springfied from Dumfries on a Saturday, walk into store and I ask for my tiles. It took 3 guys to figure out that tiles were not delivered. They told me to call the main offices. I asked why can't you check on status and they look at me like I was nuts. So I go outside to make a call. Yep, online order got fucked, distribution center didn't put it on the truck, I have to wail till Wednesday. Maybe. Can't guarantee Wednesday but maybe Wednesday. I lost my shit. Sorry Minnesota phone lady, but man I was frustrated as fuck, and used appropriately bad language to express said frustration. So...Wednesday it is. Maybe Thursday. Probably. In short: 1) the tile shop people can't measure worth shit. So do your own measurements, and add extras just in case. 2) follow up. Because if you don't, your tiles will not arrive as promised. 3) tile shop people at Springfield don't know how to use a phone so they can't contact their own people to find out why their customer's orders haven't appeared. My first time there was overwhelming but my second trip in there, the manager Brian was super helpful and patient. He took the time to sit down with me and go over in great details tile selection, dimensions of my bathroom and what materials I would need for my renovation project, and even tips on grout/sealant if I were to do it myself. The Tile Shop has a great tile selection (better then I thought from looking at their website) and it's great if you want to buy samples to bring home to look over first and then order what you need. There were things like trim/edging that I would have never thought to have ordered, so it was great to see and hear what the expert had to say/suggest. The design expect forgot to order the correct items for the project. I was ordering stone for a fireplace and he didn't mention that I needed to purchase corner pieces. I realized it that night and called the next day to add it to the order and was told that it wouldn't be ready until the following Saturday. I had missed the Wednesday order deadline for Saturday delivery. He said that he spoke to his manager and there was nothing they could do. I call the corp office and they contacted the store manager. They resolved the issue and got the stone to me for Saturday pick up. I manager didn't need to tell me how they revolved it. I didn't need to know that "Joe volunteered to drive to the ware house an hour away" I felt like she was insinuating that I should feel guilty. Story doesn't end there, My husband goes to pick up the order and they forget to included the 2 bags of gout I purchased. We live about a 30mins drive from the store. My husband call to confirm that the gout was there and they tell him that there was no gout ordered! He was looking at the receipt that clearly showed the purchase and had to drive back to the store to pick it up. read more

Honestly, I really wanted to like this place - big selection, happy to sell to me. But the delivery process is a hot mess. The first time they tried to deliver, they didn't tell me that my contractor had to be at the house and they would bot bring the tile up past the bottom of the driveway. On the second attempt, they cracked a box of tile when they were unloaded it from the truck and when I called in, I was told that I needed to bring the tile in to replace it. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that when they mess up, it should not be a burden on me to fix it. I have spoken to them a few times and the customer service is all over the place. Honestly, you can get these products anywhere now and I'd go somewhere with better customer service and just a kindler, gentler staff. Update: I spoke to a manager who told me he would send out the replacement, but honestly - you Shouldn't have to talk to a manager to get the service you need. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. We are having 2 bathrooms remodeled in our house and decided to order our tile here because of the large selection. We browsed the store several times and were never spoken to by an employee. Last Thursday, we brought our contractor to the store to buy our tile. Kendrick was the employee who finally came to help us. He seemed incredibly stoned. We walked all over the store with him and told him exactly what we wanted and how much. HE DID NOT ORDER WHAT WE TOLD HIM. On Friday we realized that Kendrick had not included the glass tile that we had told him so we went back and Jesse ordered it. He was much more together. We had bought enough tile that we were given free delivery. The truck dropped everything off on Wednesday and left before we could confirm what we had received. When we opened the boxes we realized that Kendrick had order the wrong border. We called him at the tile store to ask him where our things were and he said he'd call us back. 24 hours later, he hadn't called us back. We also noticed that the our white subway tile was not in the delivery. Today, we went took our contractor down to the store to see what was going on. Kendrick never apologized for not calling us back and continued to make up excuses. He claimed that we told him we wanted the border that was delivered to us, when it clearly does not go with the rest of our tile for that bathroom. The computer system was also down at the store, so he kept saying that he could not find out where we would be able to get tile from. Without this tile, or bathroom will not be able to be completed on schedule. We attempted to speak to the manger, Victoria, but she was extremely unresponsive and did not even pay attention to us when we were talking to her. She finally called a few stores to find out where we could get the border tiles and decided that WE have to go pick up the correct tile EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE. During this conversation, we discovered that Kendrick had not even ordered the subway tile! Since we don't have the subway tile for one bathroom or the border for the other, our workers cannot do anything. They placed our order on a paper receipt and claimed they were giving us an "unknown" discount since their computers aren't running. Now we are responsible for picking up our own tile from Manassas, Tyson's, and Springfield, again. This will cost us at least $200 just for the workers to pick it up, not including gas. Because Kendrick did not originally order the correct tile, glass tile, or subway tile and we do not have a large enough order for them to give us home delivery. The employees at this store are extremely incompetent and the manager just makes up excuses for her employees. The store will screw up, and you will pay for it. read more

We did not have a good experience with the Tile Shop. We placed an order that we went to pick-up directly. The materials were not pulled together and ready for pick-up, so the staff seemed as if they were scrambling to assemble the order. As a result, when we returned home, we realized they gave us a box of incorrect tile. Additionally, one of the threshold pieces was dirty; we were told it just needed to be wiped off, but it could not be. We had to go back a second time to correct their error, which is unacceptable. read more

After wandering around some more with my new tour guide, the sales rep told me they didn't carry it. Imagine my shock at seeing on display as I was leaving! Every tile business should be like this place! You don't need an appointment, and they have a lot of friendly and knowledgeable staff members. You can see samples of the final product: The tiles are laid out in sample designs on big display boards, with several tiles on shelves underneath for your perusal. Nearly all tiles show a price per square foot. Prices are very reasonable. The Tile Shop sells natural stone, ceramic, glass, and more. The place also has a large number of display "rooms" so you can see tile designs in a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, etc. Accent pieces (listellos, etc.) are displayed on a wall and racks in a central design area near the back of the store. Staff members use smart phones to check availability of items. A lot is in stock, but not everything. The business moves stock between stores once a week, or you can drive to another store to pick items that might be in stock there. The company offers a 15% discount for customers who fill out a credit application. Terms are 6 months same as cash, UNLESS you are taking items home with you the day you buy them. If you are taking items straight home, you can get the 15% but not the 6-month deal. It takes a little time to fill out the online application, which is under GE Credit. Worth the time! If you buy too much, you can return unopened boxes of tile, and also individual listellos, sills, and other items. There's no restocking fee. I spent three hours in this place and made a very satisfying first transaction, and then had an equally good experience during a shorter second visit.
