I've never bought flooring before since I was moving into my very first home and Mike S. answered all my questions, educated me on what kinds of flooring I needed (since I was moving into a condo) and made me feel really confident in the purchase. We bought carpet and hardwood flooring from this store over the past few years. I just recently determined that they are not trustworthy. We bought Garrison II antique lightly scraped walnut hardwood from them and they installed the the floor in the entire downstairs. We then bought carpet from them for the entire upstairs. We did not like the look and our two cats were destroying it. So we had them pull out the carpet and pad we paid for and wanted to install the same hardwood flooring upstairs as we have downstairs. When I went to the store to buy the Garrison II wood I was told by the people in charge that the Garrison II flooring was no longer being made by Garrison. I was shown different hardwood floor samples and I brought home several samples to see how close of a match I could get. I decided on a floor that does not match, but has same color over tones. We had it installed by Flooring 101. About a month ago the downstairs toilet over flowed and flooded the hallway, the carpeted bedroom and bathroom. Fortunately, ServPro immediately came out over a period of four days and dried out the effected areas. We decided to install hardwood in the bedroom. I called the store to ask about the possibility of Garrison II. The person who answered the phone said he would call me right back. Then I called Garrison directly and told them what I wanted. They said that Garrison II antique walnut lightly scraped was in stock. I told them I wanted to buy some. They said sorry, we only sell to approved stores or contractors. They told me that my contractor could establish an account with them. I then got a call back from the person at the store and he said I'm terribly sorry Garrison no longer makes that floor...this was right after I had talked with Garrison about purchasing the floor. The next day my floor installer came to my house to measure and to discuss the job. I told him what Flooring 101 said about the Garrison II floor no longer being available. He said of course it is, I install it all the time. He said Flooring 101 stopped selling the Garrison floor because Garrison would not stop selling to contractors. My floor installer has ordered the Garrison II antique walnut lightly scraped and will be ready to install next week Flooring 101 will no longer get my business; they lied to a good customer several times. I would strongly advise taking your business elsewhere. read more

So happy with my new floors! We went from ugly white tile throughout most of the house to this, and we couldn't be happier. After my initial phone call, I was able to get an appointment for measurements within a day! Harry came to our home to take all the initial measurements. He was very friendly and professional, explaining every step to us in detail to avoid any surprises. We then met him at the Simi Valley location to pick the flooring we wanted and get a final quote. Although there was a bit of sticker shock, they were right in line with most of the other quotes we got. One thing they had that the others didn't was 24 months of 0% financing - that was a huge factor in our decision making. We picked the flooring on a Sunday, paid for it on Monday, and it was installed on Wednesday! And the installation only took about 5 hours! This is in regard to the Simi store. Their customer service is really poor. When I walked in the rep helping me kept referring to me as "this guy". I finally told him I was "a customer" and asked him to stop referring me in the manner he was. I was placing an order that was being handled in the Oxnard store by Saul Munoz (awesome help there) and because I liked his service I wanted him to get the credit but I didn't want to drive back to Oxnard. Anyways Saul was great, told me to go to the Simi store and they could place the order there. They made the experience so bad! It took over an hour to place the order because the manager and sales rep kept trying to take credit for the sale. They even called Saul and gave him a hard time for the situation. I would have given them a 4 or 5 star rating as they were very helpful in helping me get my discontinued flooring. But it was due in last week and when I called to inquire where it was they didn't know. They called back and said it would be in today and when would I be picking it up. I said I hoped today but it may be tomorrow. The salesman said I should pick it up because they had "limited storage". I reminded him that the flooring was supposed to be in last week and I had made time then. That I would try to be in today but if not tomorrow. When I went to pick up my thousands of dollars worth of flooring I found their "limited storage" was the back of their open delivery truck. So my wood floor, in their plastic wrapping, was sitting in the summer sun. No cover over it. He said they do it all the time. That there was no problem. Well, the water on the inside of the plastic tells me he doesn't know what he is talking about. The store manager was sitting there and had nothing to say. So, if you order a wood floor in the summer be sure where they are storing it. Makes me wonder about where my whole house of flooring sat 5 years ago in the much hotter August sun. read more

Set an appt for salesman to come to my home with samples and take measurements. The day before, I went into the store and could not find the pattern I wanted. I immediately called the salesman at the store and left a message to cancel our meeting. In the meantime, my 90 year old mother became very ill and we were in the hospital when the salesman showed up at the door. I know this because he sent me a very rude e-mail telling me that he did not appreciate having to get up an hour earlier. 1) I own a business and always confirm my appointments to make sure nothing has changed 2) It is not my fault that this man did not check his phone messages 3) a salesman should never be rude to a potential client or anyone else, I would hope and 4) My mother's health comes first, period! read more

Harry was terrific for our school. We needed new carpeting in 3 classrooms. One room got regular glue down carpet, and that room came out beautiful The carpet Harry recommended was a great pick. The teacher was thrilled. The installers did a perfect job. The other two classrooms got carpet tiles, so that any stains we can't get out in the future can be taken care of easily by inserting a new tile. Those rooms were also done perfectly and they are beautiful. Harry himself was very attentive, keeping us apprised of the status of the schedule. He was always available for questions. Do not use this company!!!! Had a horrible sales experience. First issue was that we specificialy asked when they can install the carpet by. They scheduled a day and then did not show up or call to re-schedule. Once I called, I found out that the carpet did not even arrive to the warehouse yet. They finally installed the carpet but the installers decided not to clean up after themselves. We are still picking up excess carpet pieces from the installers. Dealing with the Sales agent was also difficult. Once he made the sale he did not care what was going on. Flooring 101 never called to schedule or update us on any install dates or issues we were having. we had to initiate calls to get installers out and ask why certain things were not done. The installers also broke our internal vacuum system. So many issues i could go on!!! Do not use this company. read more
