They have a great selection of paletas, treats, Hispanic candies and chips, Frescas etc. we had the fruit with the paletas and chamoy. It's so yummy. The staff were friendly and answered the questions we had. We will be back for sure!

Awesome snack shop and ice cream spot! Traditional type of desserts and very nice staff. I'll definitely be back! The Tostitos con camarones were awesome.

First timers and will definitely be back. We got a obispo de fresa y piña, coctel de elote and a Tosticamaron and it was all sooooo good!

    Amazing ice cream selection

This is one our favorite places to go to while in chandler. What ever you pick you won't be disappointed . We got some ice cream to go and just enjoyed it in the car

They don't have the elote on the cob, just in the cup... but they don't use the right kind of cup. It should be a short fat cup so you are able to stir everything around, but it's in a tall skinny cup which is impossible. And the "chilé" is Tapatio sauce... that is definitely not what it's supposed to be... super disappointed... I want to go back to Texas to get some real elote.. and the worst part about this place, it's insanely overpriced!!! $11 for two small elotes!? That's unheard of... I can usually get an entire freaking meal at a raspados with that kind of money.. attaching a picture of my soupy elote..

It was really tasty and great! I had gotten the pineapple and strawberry raspado. It definitely was a great drink to have on a hot night

Tostilocos small size $7.50. Big enough portion for me and my daughter. Full of flavor. Avocado on top-did not skimp on ingredients.

$13 for small tostilocos and palyfruta. They serve full quality ingredients. Clean shop. Big portions.

One of my favorite spots in Chandler, AZ. I come here at least 3-4 times a month! So I am very much surprised I have not yelped it! I have so many favorites that I get regularly. One of them being the tosticamarones, the shrimp is always so fresh! I also love the elote entero or in the cup, always served hot or warm! Parking lot is kinda small but you can utilize the street parking in front of the michoacana or behind the barber shop. Staff is always very friendly!

This place is NOT closed! I just went there last night, to my great pleasure. I was looking for freshly made Aguas Frescas like I'd had at a little place near my mothers at Alma School and Ray Rd that had closed. This place had it and I got a giaiant 32 oz container of Cantalope flavored for $2.50. It was SO delicious and refreshing! You white eople don't know what youre missing. The place was packed with Spanish speaking people who know a good thing when they taste it. I felt a little out of place but didn't care. It was worth the wait in line and the embarrassement of not understanding what was being said around me. A couple of people answered questions for me in line so I knew what to say when it was my turn. They even give you samples of the ice cream and drinks. While I was waiting I got aoout a litttle pad of paper and wrote down all the words I didn't know on the menu to look up later. Here is what I found out: Nieve=snow (very finely shaved ice that absorbs the flavor rather than just sitting in it). Liquidos= fruit and milk blended, a Mexican Smoothie. Elotes=Corn on the cob--on a stick. Chamoyades=pickled fruit. (Shaved ice with fruit syrup, mango, tamarind, lime or pineapple, drizzled with hot sauce, chamoy, lime juice, plus chili powder and salt). It is sometimes served with pickled pig skin on top. Raspado=Shaved ice. Paletas=Popsicles made with fruit. Esquimades=Eskimo pies. Jugos=Juice Fresas (or Fresas cn Crema)=Strawberries (with cream) Duros-Spicy "wagon Wheel" crispy chips Tostiloco=Nachos with lots of stuff on them (Tostilocos: *1 cut open bag Salsa Verde Tostitos *Jicama *Lime juice squeezed over top *Salt and Cayenne Pepper *Tamarind (very, very sour fruit) *Fried Peanuts, Japanese Peanuts *Cucumber *Chamoy (hot sauce, kind of sugary) *Salsa Picante) http://www.flickr.com/photos/guppieluv/2055355301/ Escamoches=Mixed fruit with granola, etc (theres more to it than that) I probably will have to refine these definitions as I do more research and taste more items but this is a start.

Um, I'm not white but I still didn't like this place, at least not the ice cream. The lady at the counter was really nice and let us taste a few flavors to see which one we wanted which I hate to say were not very good. They each had a weird texture, kind of gummy and grainy like the ice cream was not smooth. It had a grainy appearance and tasted okay but like I said it was not the greatest. They have several other things on their menu: nachos, banana splits, fresas eon crema, jugos naturales, shaved ice, aguas frescas, elotes, chamoyadas, raspado, duros, candies, paletas, etc. You can't miss the place because it is painted in happy colors with sweets on the outside of the shop. When you walk in everything is pink and blue striped which I love since I love kawaii things and there is a strong smell of sugar in the air which I loved! I think I will give this place one more try before I pass completely.

This ain't your Baskin Robbins or Cold Stone, and that's why you come here. Drop in, ask to try their delicious ice cream, or are you feeling like a churro? It's REALLY hot outside. Even more the reason to park, run in, be attended to quickly, run back out with your tasty choice. It is colorful and kids would really dig this place (ADULTS TOO) The horchata was excellente...

Elotes in a cup, and very generous 2 scoops of ice cream!

Love this place! Elotes, ice cream, paletas and more! Plus, they have cream cheese ice cream. It tastes very similar to the queso ice cream back home. Service was very fast and friendly. I'll be back, very soon!

It was just interesting to have with a place that appeared to be for ice cream. The ice cream itself was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. A lot of different options and mixtures, but it was definitely on the more expensive side for what is being offered. My bigger gripe was that it took a long time despite there not being too many people. We were the only parties in there in the beginning and a buddy ordered a single scoop of ice cream first. When we had all finished individually ordering, more people arrived. Instead of giving us our orders first or even starting on it (again, our first friend ordered a normal scoop first), he went ahead and started with the customers that just arrived. That would be fine, but as he was the only worker, we had to wait almost 10 minutes before our ice cream was even started on.

I ordered two small Thai teas with boba and one small Indian tea, and the total was $19, which felt a bit pricey for the portion sizes. The drinks were okay, but not anything that really stood out. They've also added a small food menu with Mediterranean-style snacks and gyros, which is a nice idea. Overall, it's not bad and convenient if you're nearby, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

A place with rotating flavors, being able to sample them is part of the experience. In the area where you get your cup size of choice, gloves were provided as well as sample cups. Came with a small group of friends for an evening of sweet treats; first time for us to be here…read more Let me start by saying, the 4 stars are for the product itself...I would have truly given 2 stars for the two young men working that evening. Having never been, it took us some time to get the feel of the treats, watch others order, study the menu and then deciding on what to order. Several others in our group had been previously and they all had suggestions as well to share. Both of us got a small Jelati, which is a layered mix of Italian Ice and soft serve ice cream...you can also choose to have toppings like sprinkles, Oreo cookie crumbs, butter cookies, etc. I decided on the Key West Tropical (a wonderful tasting mix of pineapple, mango, passion fruit, banana, and coconut) layered with vanilla soft-serve and no toppings. Also, I choose the small size which was actually perfect for a tasty treat. The Jelati itself was so good...creamy and the Tropical ice was amazing and so made me want to be in the tropics! Wife decided on the lemon ice layered with vanilla and no toppings. She loved it but did say it needed a tad more of that lemon tart flavor. We will come back to try some of the other flavor combos...highly recommend this place for nice, cool, summer treat! Now on to the reason I initially said I would give 2 stars for the employees. As I was watching them make treats, I observed no gloves, I observed both touching their faces and hair, rubbing hands on pants, etc. When I was asked about ordering, I specifically asked that the young man making the treats please wash his hands and glove up, to which I got a look from the one taking the orders but he walked over to the other one, said something to him and he in turn took over the cash register while the initial young man who took the order went and washed his hands for a second or two, walked over to the gloves, put them on and made my treat. As soon as he was done, the gloves came off and he continued to make the following treats being ordered. Although nothing was said by either, the looks and overall tone was definitely changed but I really didn't care and just explained that food safety should be the top of their list. Just in case they see this...from the AzDHS food safety website: In Arizona, food workers must avoid bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods by using single-use gloves, tongs, or deli paper. We will be back for sure so hopefully employees are brought up to speed on safety requirements for washing hands and wearing gloves.

We ordered the Cookies and Cream soft serve in a cup ($4.50) with crushed toppings and macarons, along with an order of two Taiyaki's ($4.95), both filled with nutella. I've visited few Somisomi locations before. The consistency of the soft serve is very smooth, but the highlight of the menu for me is the nutella filled Taiyaki. It was fresh & hot and it definitely balances the cold soft serve. I could also eat the Taiyaki on it's own. My main critique is that the soft serve flavor is very subtle and a bit too mild for my taste. I could barely taste any Cookies and Cream flavor beyond the toppings that were added. If it wasn't for the Taiyaki, I would not order the soft serve on it's own. I'd be open to giving Somisomi another try. True rating would be a 3.5 Visited 5/11/26
