What a wonderful addition to Bonita! My daughter and I were treated so well here. They had one high chair available for my 1-year-old, so that was a huge plus. There weren't any available tables after we ordered, but one of the baristas did her best to make room for us and that was so sweet of her to go out of her way. I adore this new cafe. It's so quaint and clean inside with soft neutral colors and floral accents. It's nice that you can just order at the counter and have a seat. The menu is simple and healthy, with some sweet indulgences. I brought my daughters and we ordered an avocado toast, chicken pesto sandwich, and grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwiches came with a side salad, which I happily ate for them alongside my toast. It was deliciously light and refreshing...and the avocado toast was by far, the best avocado toast I've ever had. It was super flavorful and will be my go-to from now on. My kids finished their sandwiches, which tells me that they must have been really good. (My kids are super picky.) To drink, I had the Dahlia (cold brew with vanilla and soy milk). Yum! I can't wait to try the rest of them. And to top it off, the service was great, from the young lady at the counter (who suggested the Tisanas tea - soooo good) to the one who delivered our food. Flora Café is such a hidden gem in Bonita!! I come here multiple times a week :) They have the best matcha, coffee (my favorite is the Nectar) and the food is also delicious!! First time here , I ordered a caramel cappuccino and an avocado toast (bread was not toasted) . cappuccino is served in a very small coffee cup maybe an 8oz oppose if you get it to go seems to be a 16oz cup (menu doesn't give size options for drinks) . There are 10 tables , some seat 2 people others sit about 4. When you walk in you order first then pick where to sit. I feel like the employee could've been more welcoming due to their fairly new. They serve more than coffee and drinks and serve breakfast/lunch as well. They bring your order to your table and pick up plates which is great. I also noticed they have a highchair! I've been to cutesy coffee/ matcha places that don't truly accommodate moms/babies because they didn't have a high chair. I appreciated seeing the highchair. I ordered a flat white and avocado toast. I agree with the other reviewers that the prices are quite high, but the quality was there! I really enjoyed the sourdough toast that was used for the avocado toast. We've met here several times as a group - they are very accommodating with seating ... the service is fantastic and the owners were super friendly and welcoming. On 2 separate occasions they have made my drinks wrong and then when reminded of what the correct order was - they say well you can reorder it and pay. One time the OWNER is the one who didn't respond about an ordered coffee being decaf coffee. She just smiled and walked away. No fixed coffee, no apology. Will not be coming back. Disappointing to have this attitude in a business in Chula Vista. I work from home and decided to check this place out and brought my laptop. I ordered a their chai and scone which was good. As I was working the owner came up to me and asked me if I was planning to order something else, insinuating that I need to leave if not. There were several people including the lady right next to me who had been there since before I arrived. I thought this was very rude. People who are working remotely are the type of people you want to encourage to come into your business as those are going to be frequent customers. I REALLY wanted to like this cafe but unfortunately not a good first visit. I happen to go during a really busy time which I expected. In the middle of our order the only waitress and the cashier was discussing some plan of action while the line behind us grew longer and longer through the door. Not a great first impression but here's the rest. Pros: -Clean and very aestethic place. -Lots of seating inside and outside. -Great location with tons of parking. -Drinks are ok, matcha definitely could be better but my friend liked their coffee(very strong) but good for him since he is a coffee drinker. Cons: -Items are overpriced for the quality in my opinion. -New place, you can tell staff are still overwhelmed with the amount of customers. -Only one waitress at the time we visited at 10:30 am on a Saturday. -Very loud inside when there's a lot of people. Not your typical cafe where you can do some work/school stuff in peace inside. (Maybe I'm just used to Japanese cafe's where people are polite and not yelling at each other. -Because of how busy they are we went ahead and cleaned our own table. Put empty dishes by the trash. -While waiting for our orders, we watched the only waitress serve other customers with their drinks and food while our names were called and eventually had to pick-up our own drinks. - I ordered a cinnamon roll and mentioned to the waitress how hard and crunchy it was, her response was (sorry about that, its made out of a healthier ingredient so maybe that is why but it is made fresh everyday and delivered to us). -She also delivered the wrong item for me, I ordered chia pudding and she gave me some type of toast. I corrected the order and so she politely took it back. -When she brought the right item, we asked for water and she responded that she will clean the tables first and then get us our water but also pointed out where the water is (which we didn't know about since there were people waiting and covering it) and said its self served. We politely replied that we will go ahead and do it (I was a little irritated by then but I didn't mention that we cleaned our own table). Really had high hopes for this cafe especially with the reviews being 5 stars so far... maybe it was just the timing for us but I know for a fact each issue we had could've been handled better. The moment you walk into flora cafe you are met not only with very engaging and kind staff but also beautiful decor all around. From the wall paper to the cempasúchil flowers that are on all the tables. Everything in this cafe is deliberate and purposeful to offer the best possible experience. When I came I went for both breakfast and lunch allowing me to try the breakfast sandwich and then the chicken pesto. Both were delicious and raised my bar for what I consider a great breakfast sandwich and chicken pesto sandwich.
