    Two hard shelled taco combo
    Jacob D.

I work right across the street from this place and had not yet tried it so I decided today's that day. I went early enough (11:15ish) prior to the lunch crowd and was the 2nd customer in the restaurant. I was immediately greeted by a server whom quickly took my order and brought chips and salsa to my table. I ended up ordering the two hard shell taco combo with rice and beans and a fountain soda. The food was ok (not the worst); however, very pricey: 16.99 for the taco plate and 4.99 for my fountain drink! With tax and before tip it came to 24 bucks! I definitely won't be eating here again. Service was great and the servers were friendly enough and very efficient but overall not worth the price. Side note: this is a great place for large parties. Parking is tight except around the side of the bldg. Decor is dark inside almost like Dia de Los Muertos type!

Flores Cafe sits in a nondescript shopping center at the corner of Carson Street (x) S Wilmington Ave. A prominent tenant of "Car-Wil Plaza" is Starbucks. An additional landmark--"Malamalama Ole Lalolagi" Church, is across the street. Mexico is a large country. As such there are many regional cooking styles. Barriers to entry are relatively low; so, if someone feels that they have good recipes, they can open their own business. The plus side is that in Southern California, we have access to a variety of "Mexican" food. I have had many good meals in small family restaurants. But a lot of small restaurateurs don't have a lot of capital; as such, decor is an afterthought. While not polished, the owners of Flores Cafe have put a lot of effort into decoration. The interior walls are covered with portraits of entertainment personalities, with a Día de los Muertos overlay. It's probably worth at least one visit to go and see. Service at some smaller restaurants is sometimes wanting. The waiter and waitress were outfitted professionally in black jeans and black dress shirts. The table service offered was also good. On this occasion, I ordered the carne asada burrito; rice, with no beans ($12.99); covered in the red sauce ($3.99). With a Pepsi ($5.99) and tax ($2.40), my ticket was $25.37 before gratuity. The texture of the food on the plate was a bit rustic; but I think this is attributable to cooking style. Overall, the taste was good; the overall size of the burrito, and its contents, was reasonable in the current environment. I took lunch, mid-day, mid-week; so, I can't comment on their promotional events, like karaoke,

Food was so good I had the oysters preparadas and my husband had the aguachile verde and a nice cold beer we had Really good service with our server Julie she was attentive and nice and really accommodating to our needs we really appreciate the service and def will come back and ask for her thank you Flores cafe and Julie for ambience and good vibes on our date night we even had time to dance to the grupo playing

I found their instagram page and the food looked amazing, so we decided to try them out for lunch. They're located in a small strip mall; the kind of place people might drive on by, but definitely stop in for some good food! We went New Year's Day, making sure we paid attention to their special hours. Walking in, it looks like a club, not a restaurant. I can only imagine how lit this place is at night and on weekends. The walls are painted black with neon murals painted all over. It was fairly empty and they had bachata loudly playing on one tv and a game on another. It's definitely screams a club atmosphere, but with a restaurant inside. Yeni greeted us and came over and took our order. I ordered a small carnitas taco, since carnitas are my favorite. The meat was tender and flavorful. Exactly what I expected it to be. We also ordered the combination fajitas and the 3 mole enchiladas plate. Everything was so delicious! The rice and beans really caught our attention. It's not always that I enjoy the rice and beans, but theirs was really good! Everything was seasoned well and piping hot when it came out. Their chips and salsa were also good! We bought some to take home, along with a to-go order of shrimp ceviche. We will for sure be back to try more on their menu! Very glad we tried them out!

Tamal, hard Shell Taco & Cheese Enchilada

Came for lunch. Been a year since I was last here and obviously it's undergone alot of changes. Has more of a black light party vibe now versus the old school styled Cafe. Lots of modern / Hispanic pop culture art on the walls everywhere. Service was great servers were attentive and quick to take order and check back in to see if you needed anything. Ordered the tamal, taco, enchilada combo plate. Food was good/ filling and covered the entire platter. Would recommend a visit. Not sure about the night scene but looks like they have music and bar for weekends.

    Asada Fries
    Darlene D.

While running errands, I started to get hungry and had a craving for asada fries. Yum! I decided to stop by Flores Cafe, a small Mexican restaurant in Carson with plenty of free parking, a definite plus for me. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and placed a to-go order for asada fries. They didn't take long to prepare, and they came out fresh and hot. The fries were good, though I've had better. I couldn't help but wonder if they would've tasted even better if I'd eaten them right away at the restaurant. Maybe!

8 camarones rancheros for $25.99 is a little ridiculous.

Been to this location a few times and food has always been appetizing. My daughter loves coming here for their pasta. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive.

The vibe was really off. The place is nice and clean and appealing but there was no music playing. They had on naked and afraid and some news on their TVs. We were the only people there so the place was so quiet and boring. The lady was very polite, but it just wasn't a "fun environment". The food came out at all different times which was weird because we were the only ones there. I'm always trying to find somewhere close to go hang out and invite friends to have drinks and eat but it was just so off I wouldn't want to go back with friends. We asked if they had any plant-based or vegan options. They only sold burgers however the lady that helped us was very sweet, polite, and kind. Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and non-dairy items. Provided us with what we needed right away, the container for the salsa and brought out fresh ones for me. Very nice guy. The food came out right away. The portions were big in my opinion. The prices were decent, the portion was great, and best of all the service was good. Their self-serve condiments was a PLUS! I've been to a lot of taco spots and these were by far the freshest and crispiest cucumbers, fresh cold salsa, onions and cilantro was also fresh. The food was good and filled us up. It was simple but fulfilling. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seats as well.

I ordered the asada, carnitas, al pastor, tripas, cabeza, and lengua. The asada was tender with a nice grilled flavor, but my favorites were definitely the tripas and cabeza. Both were a little greasy, but in a good way--they had a lot of flavor and were probably the standouts of the meal for me. One thing I liked was the condiment bar. You can load up your tacos with as much onion and cilantro as you want, plus they have radishes and lime wedges available. They also offer two salsas, a red and a green. Both tasted good and had solid flavor, although I was hoping for a little more heat. Overall, it's a solid taco spot, especially on Taco Tuesday. Good variety of meats, reasonable prices, and plenty of toppings to customize your tacos. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area and craving some tacos.

The food here is really good. They do a very good job of not only sourcing high quality ingredients, but preparing each dish with a very nice presentation. In terms of atmosphere, this is a large restaurant. They have numerous interior tables, as well as some exterior tables, as well. They also have a very nice bar area. Their seating is all very well spaced so you never feel like you're sitting too close to any other customer. This gives you the space to feel comfortable having conversations with whomever you're with. On certain night in the evening, they actually bring in a band. Not your traditional mariachi band or anything like that. But, a band that performs some really interesting takes on both traditional and modern Latin music. The staff here are all super nice. They're happy to help you out with whatever you need. And, they do a really good job doing their job. One thing to know about this restaurant is that they're currently offering Sunday brunch beginning at 9:00 AM. I know the sign outside says that the brunch doesn't begin till 11:00 AM. Overall, if you're in the Old Torrance area, and you want to have some great Latin inspired food, this may be your place to go.
