I have been scrounging the state for one dish that used to be a diner standard, but in recent years has been slipping into obscurity. Chicken Croquettes. Many diners in south jersey serve these often disgusting balls of chicken and bread that my brother "lovingly" referred to as cat food when I was growing up, but in north jersey they are a rarity. The Florham Park diner has amazing chicken croquettes. I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture. They were dense, crispy, and packed with peas and carrots, something I had never seen before. They left me breathless. Served over mashed potatoes, which were also excellent, and vegetables, I had green beans, which were fresh and delicious. Service was great, very friendly. Thumbs up, Florham Diner, you are 45 minutes out of my way, but I'm coming back for more, and soon. read more

Food was meh. Pot roast specialcame on a plate with only mashed potatoes, no veggies. Potatoes were perfect. Pot roast could have been cooked longer to fall apart. Unappealing plate. We only have taken out their food, but over the last two weeks we have tried more than a dozen items. All were excellent--some were the best we have had in New Jersey in a long time. The hot open turkey sandwich was delicious. Plenty of meat, excellent turkey gravy (although I would have liked a bit extra), and decent (but not my favorite) bread. Would have been better with thicker bread, but overall superb. We have also tried their breakfast burrito and waffles, both yummy, as well as paninis (large and very well made), and hamburger (ask for it char broiled). All hits with no misses thus far. The restaurant has daily specials, which are not left over foods form yesterday, so variety is possible. Its almost like home cooking. I found the people behind the counter very accommodating and pleasant, even when the place is packed and they can hardly keep up with the traffic. I love the food here. I used to go here frequently before locking down and now order delivery. When you order delivery it comes packaged thoughtfully so that a burger isn't destroyed by the wet vegetables (for example). High quality food all around, consistently. This diner has been here for decades and for years had a large banner by the counter for being the best diner in NJ. The breakfast specials are great and very reasonably priced. I am enjoying the No. 1 special which is 2 eggs any style, choice of meat, home fries, choice of toast, juice and coffee or tea. All for around $5.40. If you're ever in the area you should stop here, because it is conveniently located in a downtown strip mall with enough parking in the front and back. Has not improved in the two or three years since I was last here. I thought I'd give it another chance since how bad can it be for breakfast? Found some unidentifiable thing in my pancakes which were gluey as was the syrup. My eggs were okay but didn't taste like fresh eggs. My tea was nice and hot. My biggest concern was the lack of safe serve compliant hand washing facilities in the ladies room. No paper towels meant you had to touch the door handle on your way out. Ech and gross when you consider that 20% of people using public restrooms do not wash their hands. So people who are preparing and serving food are potential germ carriers. Booths were visibly dirty. Diners are always a safe bet and easy to find in every town. My friends and I went here for lunch and I ordered the Ranch Chicken BLT. It was decent and the fries were not that great. My friend ordered the chicken noodle soup but, got chicken rice instead and it was very salty. His hummus chicken wrap was also soggy. The service was friendly but, slow. It took us a while to get our food (even though it was just salads, wraps, and a soup) and also took us a while to get the check. Overall, a pretty mediocre diner. I've been going to the Florham Park diner for years. They are on the expensive side as far as local diners go, but that's OK because their food is usually great. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. They could use more variety in their specials and should include dessert in their specials (every other diner does), but these are minor critiques. What's been holding this diner back lately is the service. Several of the waitstaff (and one waitress in particular) just seems unhappy to be working and is short with customers. It's not a one off; it's every time. It's gotten to the point that I don't go anymore because I don't want to be waited on by certain waitstaff and I don't want to deal with the confrontation of asking for a different server. Management is actually quite friendly and seem very invested in the establishment. I'm not sure how they tolerate the level of service being provided. I never write reviews. I thought long and hard before writing this one. However. If I don't provide feedback, ownership has no way of knowing of dissatisfaction that a number of folks share (this isn't just me). I would certainly start going back to this diner if the service improved. If you don't care about rude service, you should go- the food is great. But, if like me, you enjoy the overall experience, this place may not be for you. To be clear, I'm not suggesting servers need to be overly friendly. This diner left everyone in my family satisfied. The service was a little slow, but, besides that, everything was great. I ordered my favorite diner dish: spinach pie with a side Greek salad. It was delicious. My girls had the pumpkin pancakes and loved them. You have to appreciate a diner that goes out of its way to make pumpkin pancakes in the fall. I do. I live in Morristown and it's so worth it to make the trip to FP or to order via DoorDash. Better than most diners in the area.

Came here for a quick breakfast before heading to a work function. The service was quick and the people were very pleasant. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs...pretty standard so nothing out of the ordinary. Coffee was pretty good and strong enough to perk me up a bit. It's conveniently located right by Columbia Turnpike so easy access to other highways nearby. Check them out if you're looking for a quick but good meal. read more

Really good food, clean and bright place...one of the best diners in Morris county. My favorite lunch dish is the avocado toast, and they do a good job of making classic diner dishes, as well as the occasional trendy eats. My daughter and I waited a very long time for cold scrambled eggs, weird tasting bacon and oddly colored home fries that were not cooked to order. Finally a good diner!!!! Wow that has been a long search. Although we have to drive about 15 minutes to it, it is totally worth it. One of the cleanest diners we have ever visited. Honestly, it's just a so-so diner. They're not doing anything special, nor are they doing anything terrible. The only reason I used to go out of my way to dine there was their having participated in UPromise. They no longer participate. I find diners closer to home. They did a great job of renovating. Now they need to do something similar with their menu. I wish they had more inventive salads and more creative entrees, but it's all so standard. I was also jerked around by a server or two on various occasions who offered me something with my entree, or asked me how I wanted my meal. My entree would arrive without any of those items, only to be told afterwards by my server that those items were not available. Why offer? Do you, or do you not know your own menu? I used to like this place however, I recently had dinner and was incredibly dissatisfied. Ordered a fish special that pretty much had the same texture as rubber and was lathered in butter. I sent it back. I could hear and see the waitress tell the owner in which she responded with an attitude telling the waitress she didn't know if she was taking it off the bill. Smh. I then reordered and got a grilled chicken sandwich, which was adequate at best. Soaky bread and poorly made. After everything was said and done I paid and the owner rang me up with a displeased demeanor yet, never asked how my meal was or why did I send it back. Totally disgusted with the level of hospitality. There was also was a big barley man walking around who didn't even ask how the meal was. Not really sure what his purpose is. I'm not one to complain, but it seems like this place is hit or miss. When I dine here in the middle of a weekday, service is amazing. But it's Saturday late morning and it took them 35 minutes to get a meal in front of us. I guess it was worth waiting for! Just be prepared to entertain yourselves for a while. read more

Just got back from breakfast at this diner. I don't come here nearly as often as I should, probably because it's not a stand alone diner like I'm used to. It's tucked away in a little strip in Florham Park, barely noticeable to a non-native. Don't worry, it's there. It's a little pricier than other diners but I have to say, the food has never disappointed me. Always packed on the weekends, and you know that's for a reason. Had a toasted corn muffin today and it was great. Lightly buttered, I ate the whole damn thing. I have had many corn muffins (always toasted), and this one ranks among the top. Rumor has it they make their muffins with egg whites. I was intrigued upon hearing such a thing. In the past my mom has gotten some chicken dishes (something I never do, I go to diners strictly for diner food) and said they were absolutely delicious and that the portions were big enough to take home. Worth checking out, I hope you find it! Oh yea and service is really good, our waiter was running around and was kind of profusely sweating (I don't like sweat) but took care of us. I brought my parents there today to treat them randomly & we ordered an appetizer (Chicken Potstickers), the hungryman breakfast with buckwheat pancakes [mine], the pancake deluxe with chocolate pancakes, & one chicken salad sandwich. The waitress Jackie was very good, even when there was slight moment of indecision on ordering, she offered to put in the appetizer first & then come back for the indecision to end. At this diner, it is apparent preference for the cook to place the eggs over the pancakes. Maybe it is for space reasons, I'm not sure. Jackie let us know about this & graciously asked if we wanted the eggs on the side if the pancakes or on top. I was too hungry to change preference, so I let them scramble the eggs & place them directly above the pancakes. While the Chicken Potstickers looked ordinary, the sauce they provided was pretty good & I liked eating the chicken potstickers. I guess it is comforting to know that diners are expanding palates, & this was a pleasant tasty surprise. My entree was good, portions seemed good for the hungry man for the normal person. However, since I was hungry (I worked out earlier that morning & this was my breakfast) & there were unfinished chocolate chip pancakes within reach, I finished those as well. Those pancakes were also good. While none of us got this, they do rotate a special pancake every month. In an earlier visit, my parents discovered cinnamon pancakes & were hoping to get some more. This month, the special pancake was cake batter. The chicken salad sandwich appeared to have a strange result. My mom complained that she had a stomachache after, & thinks that the chicken salad sandwich is not that good. We have gone to this diner several times and have been happy with the food and service. Today August 21, we went for Breakfast. I ordered the Lox and cheese omelet priced at $18. It came and looked to me like a $3.00 omelet. Small, very little Lox etc. I spoke to the owner who agreed and told me they would make the omelet again. The fruit they served was hard and we could not eat it. The bacon came late and was ok. Finally my $18 omelet came and had lox, but no taste. They came over from the cash register with my bill for $45.00, for a chocolate latte, 1 order of bacon, two soft-boiled eggs and my omelet. I tipped the waitress $5.00 so this horrible eating experience cost me $50. What would I have done, if I owned the diner? I don't know except I would not have charged the customer a full boat price for that food. My experience is consistent with another reviewer, who had a similar issue and wrote; "When we went up to the counter, Vicki did not apologize, did not try to make our experience better by offering a new meal, a dessert, or even a coffee." That being said I will find another place to have Sunday Breakfast and forget this one. read more

Love love love this place 1000 times over. Never ever been disappointed in any way. I used to live nearby and now I drive twenty minutes just to go there. My fiance and I have my regular waitresses that I adore (Dara and Jamie, my lovely ladies). The staff is also very sweet and helpful. George is very nice, always walking around and making sure everything is just right. Every thing I have tried on the menu I have liked, but I am a creature of habit so I always get the cobb salad and french onion. Tastes the same every time. Service here is always A-plus, and the quality of food is above average. They also have a balloon artist on certain days that entertains the kids, and it's a wonderful thing. They go above and beyond. My only constructive criticism... I'm confused about the poor reviews. Maybe they're written by people who are spoiled and have like, the Tic Toc Diner and get booze with their breakfast. Then again, I often, if not always, choose to sit at the counter, where the service was friendly and prompt. They were honest about having Pepsi and not coke (I can't stand Pepsi I know, but it DOES taste different) so I was happy with a Sierra Mist and a few sips of my husbands coffee, which was great. The flat screen TVs were appreciated. The corned beef hash was nice and crispy, the scrambled eggs weren't dried out and the toast was perfect. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I think this diner could make a TON of money delivering to the local colleges-- and hey if you're the oner and reading this, let's talk. I'm thinking food truck. read more

Popped in for lunch the other day...kind of a spur of the moment type of thing. The place was packed. We were seated right away and our waitress popped over quickly too. She was nice. I could tell they were busy, but she didn't push us to order quickly or rush us out once we finished our meals. Menu is huge, but figured we'd go for something simple since it was just lunch. Tried out one of their wraps and their waffle fries. Food was good....came out really fast. All in all, a good experience. Coworker had a Mediterranean wrap and he said it was really juicy. I was visiting New Jersey and hit up this little diner. The people were friendly, the menu was good. I ordered an omelette which was good and they added to it for me. I kept hearing about Taylor Ham and was not sure what it was, so naturally I wasn't going to just order it. The waitress was so nice she let us try some before we ordered so we can see if we liked it. No offense to New Jersians but I did not order it...
