Food's good! I got the Chicken Fried Steak with Homestyle Fries and Sunny Side Up Eggs. It also comes with a side of toasts. I like how you can customize them. The main dish was the chicken fried steak but everything else was my choice, my side (can be hash brown, homestyle fries, mixed potatoes and tomatoes I don't know), my eggs (you tell them how you want it to be done) and the toasts (either white, wheat, or sourdough). It's filling to say the least! My husband got the pancake combo which was good. They were pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs (again customer's choice since you can go for sausage links instead) so you can never go wrong with that. We ate there for the first time the other day and the food was very good, the service was good, and overall it was a positive experience. There were a couple things that i noticed... First, the parking lot was small, but there was some street parking nearby. Not bad at all. Second, first impression of the inside... a little dark, dusty/dirty (my only complaint) around the edges. Specifically, in the first sitting area there were several flags on the wall. They were covered in dust and very dirty. It looked like they cleaned the tables and floor but forgot about the walls and ceiling fans. For quite a while, too. Sorry, but that was my first impression and if you look at them you can see it. This is an easy fix. Third, the service was very good. The staff was attentive and my coffee cup was never empty. Fourth, the food. This is where they excelled. The eggs were cooked well (not hard but surprising how many places don't cook it well). The pancakes were tasty and not bland. My wife had a patty melt and she thought it was very good, better than other places. We will be going back. Hopefully they clean up a bit but otherwise they are well worth the drive. read more

The Red Hill Cafe comes to mine but having this in this city there's no need to drive to lengths. I viewed the menu and like many like it they continue to offer items like the norm. Although I am a fan of omelets I choose their Denver version and added mushrooms and sausage. I prefer my omelets easy and chose the O'Briens potatoes which are perfectly cooked to accompany them. Gravy always adds that perfect touch!. Sourdough toast Tabasco sauce and voila there you have it. Topped off with a large glass of milk and that's one meal fit for a king. Enjoy! read more

In L.A.'s sea of fast food and plethora of below average eating, Flo's is like the cafe we look for in small towns while on the road. The place was clean, (the bathroom smelled like bleach! Super clean!) the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was really good. I got chicken fried steak and it had a nice crunch to it underneath the gravy. I got a nice warm tortilla instead of toast, and the eggs were fine. The O'Brien potatoes lacked a little flavor and could have been browned more. My husband is a pancake critic and the pancakes easily passed the test. He said the pancake was nicely done, with just the right chewiness, texture, and flavor. He rarely finds good things to say about most pancakes! Next time I want to try a Mexican dish! The owner is REALLY mean to the employees. She yells and ridicules them in public. She is also the only person that takes your order and she is also REALLY mean doing it. The three stars do nkt reflect the owner at all. The owner gets one star. Can't deny that fact that the chilaquiles are my type. The people in the kitchen all seem to be women who bring cooking skills to their job. I always say it's the last time I am going, but eventually return for the food and the employees. What can I say I've been eating at this location for more than 15 plus years. With the original owners and then with Yolanda. What can I say it's the true epitome of what a local mom and pop "whole in wall" place is. Good old breakfast comfort food. Nothing extravagant but very homey and tasty. I love that Yolanda remembers and already knows my husbands and my order we don't even get the menus anymore. My usual consists of chicken fried steak n eggs with mashed potatoes gravy and a side of biscuits. She is very friendly and I'm so happy that she was able to expand because the wait times on the weekends were sometimes very long. read more

Upon arrival the lady taking orders came out thinking I was there for a pick up, when I told her I was hoping to place an order, she told us we could stay in the car and that she would bring menus over to us. Nice, quick meal at a family run place with a diner feel. The place was packed, so I sat in the front corner which was pretty uncomfortable, but I could have waited for a table. Came here the other day with my mom and had a pretty decent experience here. The coolest part about this restaurant is the nice condiments they give. Garlic, parsley, green onion, etc all comes out chilled from the fridge. I'm not sure how fresh they really are, but it's really nice to have a chance to add things to your own liking. And I think that's the part I enjoyed the most out of the whole experience. There's decor of the U.S. army themed stuff there. I'm not really sure what the story behind that is, but it's pretty cool in its own way. We got pretty good service from the start. Though we did get seated to a sofa that fell down instantly, it was pretty much ok. I didn't get hurt from it. Their servers did warn me, but I didn't hear it too clearly so I sat on the spot that I was told not to sit on. Their first servers didn't seem like he/she (keeping their identity safe) knew how to order our stuff. So a nice lady came afterwards to explain everything to us. It's great because we also got to customize our orders a little. And I think they're just chill like that, so it's definitely a plus. I probably won't be returning since there's other selections of food that I like better for their price range. My date ordered his steak medium rare and it came out well done - which I didnt mind since I prefer my steak cooked that way . Haha. He was too nice to say anything. wanted breakfast after going to the swapmeet and found this place on yelp. overall experience was great, we got seated quick, service was fast and the staff was very friendly. Ordered kids pancakes, French toast and chicken fried steak and eggs. Everything was really good, my son ate most of the pancakes which is a good sign that your little one will also enjoy the pancakes. The french toast tasted like they added a little vanilla extract to the egg which added a slight sweet taste so didn't need syrup, which was really good and the chicken fried steak had a good breading and was super tendar and the gravy was an A+. Flo's rocks! Since I had to take my car to the dealer to get checked out I decided to find a cool place for breakfast in the area. I didn't want your generic Denny's or IHOP. I found Flo's. It's in a little strip mall next to a barber shop and a donut shop that also sells tamales. When we opened the door we walked into this cute little old-school coffee shop. There were 8 tables in there (4 of them side by side to accommodate large parties) and a sit-down counter. The staff was extremely nice and very quick. It appears that it is a family-owned place because our waitress kept being called "Mom" by another waitress and waiter. We noticed people that walked in and it was like Cheers. The waitress looked at them and said, "The usual?" There was even a guy that walked in with a flannel shirt, jeans, and American flag suspenders and was greeted by all of the staff. Even the cook came out and waved at the dude. I asked if they had sugar-free syrup, which they did, and I ordered the French Toast Combo. I had two eggs, over medium and sausage. The eggs and sausage were cooked superbly. The french toast was fantastic! I only ate half of them, but couldn't bring the rest home since I was heading back to the dealer. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with hash browns. The steak was smothered with a nice white gravy. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Flo's is definitely a hidden gem. A late review, but I ate at this amazing mom&pop shop a few months back. The best customer service I have ever had would have to be when I ate here. The moment I stepped into the café, I was welcomed openly and amiably by the mom and son who worked there. Talking to them, I immediately felt comfortable, as if I was a regular and they knew me for longer than the time I was in there that day. If I had any questions about the menu, they made sure to explain things to me clearly and even recommended their favorite dishes for me to try. They also checked in with me to see if I enjoyed the brunch and if I had any concerns. They genuinely seemed interested in my experience at their café, doing their best to ensure I felt welcomed.
