Staying at an Airbnb nearby one of the locations and when it comes to food, whatever I see looks good I usually order so I ended up getting just a simple iced coffee with vanilla syrup, and I added my own oat milk. So one I love that oat milk is free and to their vanilla syrup tasted so good not like your regular vanilla nonsense. Then we had the oatmeal cookie which my husband said was great banana bread which was to die for and the overnight oats, which were really good in the refrigerator section. Come here for the breakfast sandwiches almost exclusively. They are consistent for the most part, except that the bread is sometimes cold, sometimes hot. Bacon is a must for me! Not a huge fan of the bread, but I change it for sourdough and that works a lot better. read more

I hate saying anything negative. Joanne runs a wonderful company. Food has always been top notch. However, lately the baked goods have been subpar. The selection has also shrunk. The cookies are now very thin and excessively greasy. I've noticed it over several months. The sandwiches are still wonderful. The selection of cake and pie slices has shrunk as well. I do love the outside seating and vibe along with the quick service, but I felt the food and drinks didn't stand much out to me and will come back for their pastries and baked goods. The BLT sandwich with poached eggs is presented as an opened face sandwich. Loved the balsamic dressing on the arugula and the applewood bacon on this classic BLT. As for the breakfast sandwich, I think using a different sauce for the sandwich could have been used instead of dijon. None of the sandwiches wowed me but the bread for sure did and you can tell when eating them As for the drinks, the matcha latte is very light and not rich, but I do like their house-made raspberry syrup with it that made the matcha better. As for the iced latte my boyfriend really loved it mainly because it tasted "light" it's not watery it was just a light coffee flavor, yet it was strong? Good and tasty breakfast that saved the day. We wanted to go to The Friendly Toast for breakfast, but despite going early, the wait was an hour and a half when we got there. Nope! Came to Flour instead since it was just a few steps away. They were also very busy with a long line, but it moved quickly. You also have the option to use the self service machine to order instead of getting in the main line. After ordering we waited less than 10 minutes for our food which wasn't bad at all. I love flour bakery and cafe! Probably one of my go to cafes in Boston. They have great coffee and plenty of gorgeous bakery items! Their lattes are amazing. They have almond milk that's locally made as well as oat milk for the non dairy peeps. They have a lot of vegan and gluten-free bakery and food options which is really nice. I personally love their sandwiches. I could eat their hummus sandwich every day (to die for!). The atmosphere is always warm and positive. I love stopping in! Had a craving for a ham sandwich and saw they make a Cuban(ish) sandwich. I grew up in south Florida and am of the opinion that cubanos are the perfect ham sandwich, so I gave it a go knowing it'll be kind of off but good enough (pickle, mustard, swiss, ham, bit of pork, cant go too far wrong, right?). Nobody ever makes it on pressed Cuban bread up here so I wasn't expecting that (pressed Cuban bread makes the real sandwich, it is airy, dry, but sturdy and compresses really well). They make theirs on sliced bread that's a bit heavy on grease from the grill press. ANYWAY, I'm not usually one to bring food back but I had to this time and am really glad I was hungry enough to want to eat in the car. What I got was initially a really disappointing pork sandwich with one slice of ham cut in half on the whole sammy. I had to take three bites before I opened the sandwich to figure out where the ham was. Worse yet they seem to cook the ham before it goes on the sandwich (why?! ) which makes it smaller and changes the texture and taste. THANKFULLY the staff were awesome when I went back in and gave me two slices of cold ham which totally fixed the situation. A Cuban is a ham and swiss with some pork, not a pork sandwich with some ham. If I feel for this again and they still have it I'll ask them not to bake the ham. Some pastries better than others. Kouign Amann was not well laminated and lacked flavor. Bialys are yummy! Brownie is only average in flavor and there is better to be had elsewhere. A great south end neighborhood cafe spot! Great for quick catch-ups and a good work spot (with wifi!) during their less busy hours into the evening. The bread here is so fresh and their seasonal menu changes keep the menu exciting! Though, the fresh mozzarella sandwich is sorely missed by me and I'm looking forward to its comeback. The sweet potato sandwich wasn't exactly my taste but for a blue cheese aficionado it is a great choice. The Parmesan chive scone is incredible, especially warm! The lemon ginger scone is a personal favorite! The coffee is alright and the chai latte is pretty good. Also, any cake slice is a must but the coconut and triple chocolate mousse are definite go-tos. I love Flour Bakery, like they are really the gift that keeps on giving. I first tried Flour with a friend about 5 years ago and was introduced to the best pumpkin pie I'd had to date. More recently I've been eating them more because my job orders from them often and I have some new favs to add to my list: the rice krispie treat makes me sooo happy, the applewood smoked bacon sandwich pressed is dangerously good (plus they are generous with the bacon), and the current quiche of the day with bacon, caramelized onions and goat cheese is delightful with every bite into the fluffy goodness. Flour, if you're looking for brand ambassadors or testers for future additions, here I am! I'm interested in trying the hummus sandwich and shrimp caesar next. Update: I've tried the hummus sandwich, grilled mushroom melt, and the coconut cake recently. The hummus sandwich is really good, I great balance of textures (smoothness of the hummus, crunch of cucumbers and pickled daikon) with a nice spicy kick in the sriracha aioli. I was in Boston visiting a friend and came here 3 out of the 4 days of my trip! She lives down the street but also it was just incredible. I ordered the hot matcha latte with simple syrup sweetener and it was really good. I also ordered the avocado toast and I have to say it is the best avocado toast I have ever had. The dessert section is pretty too, which is why I chose to come here- and I loved the raspberry seltzer. I decided to drive and was able to snag a metered parking spot around 1:30. Cute little bakery/cafe with amazing variety of baked goods. We ordered the sticky bun, their most popular item and it did not disappoint. The caramelized pecans were crunchy and so delicious with the warm bun underneath, it was perfection with perfect mix of texture and flavor. The cafe itself is cute, small and can feel tight when it is full so I wouldn't come here to study but it's nice to hang out in the casual atmosphere. Service was quick and nice.
