Come here for the breakfast sandwiches almost exclusively. They are consistent for the most part, except that the bread is sometimes cold, sometimes hot. Bacon is a must for me! Not a huge fan of the bread, but I change it for sourdough and that works a lot better.

The Chunky Lola cookies is not-to-be missed! Developed by the staff as the perfect cookie, it's everything a cookie should be.

Tried out their roast beef sandwich which was solid! Highlight of the dish was really the horseradish sauce and fried onions. They elevate the flavor and texture really well!

Flour is a bakery that serves a plethora of fresh & ready made desserts & drinks. They specialize in meringues, pies, cookies, and unique baked goods. There's a wide variety of sweets to pick from on the menu that cater to different people's tastes. It's located near the Boston University Medical Campus and Boston Medical Center. There is plenty of street parking nearby, and this location is the first of the chain in Massachusetts. When you walk in, there's a large menu you can pick from or a dessert case where you can see the treats that are available for purchase. The barista at the front was very nice! Additionally, the ambiance inside is very hipster, modern coffee shop/bakery. It's a perfect spot to hang out with a small group of friends or to lock in to study. There's plenty of small tables for indoor seating, so it's a great post-dinner spot. I ordered the Tcho chocolate cream pie, which was very decadent and flavorful. There was a good ratio of cream to pie filling to crust. I enjoyed it a lot! I would go back to try another dessert or drink on the menu and would recommend to someone looking for something sweet while in South End.

Came here for breakfast since it was convenient and across from our hotel. I got the iced coffee so the oatmilk (great!) and the breakfast sandwich with sausage. It was a hefty sandwich and their house made aioli on it had a surprisingly strong kick to it. This location was super busy, people coming in and out, the line going all the way to the seating area, people sitting inside/outside. It was a tad chaotic especially for us (we dined in). The indoor seating area was tiny but we didn't want to eat outside where there was construction going on. The prices were a tad high in my opinion but overall we had a good experience.

    BLT w/poached egg
    Alice N.

Overall a pretty average, solid place for sandwiches and drinks. I do love the outside seating and vibe along with the quick service, but I felt the food and drinks didn't stand much out to me and will come back for their pastries and baked goods. The BLT sandwich with poached eggs is presented as an opened face sandwich. Loved the balsamic dressing on the arugula and the applewood bacon on this classic BLT. As for the breakfast sandwich, I think using a different sauce for the sandwich could have been used instead of dijon. None of the sandwiches wowed me but the bread for sure did and you can tell when eating them As for the drinks, the matcha latte is very light and not rich, but I do like their house-made raspberry syrup with it that made the matcha better. As for the iced latte my boyfriend really loved it mainly because it tasted "light" it's not watery it was just a light coffee flavor, yet it was strong? If you're someone that isn't really into strong coffee flavors this could be for you.

Good and tasty breakfast that saved the day. We wanted to go to The Friendly Toast for breakfast, but despite going early, the wait was an hour and a half when we got there. Nope! Came to Flour instead since it was just a few steps away. They were also very busy with a long line, but it moved quickly. You also have the option to use the self service machine to order instead of getting in the main line. After ordering we waited less than 10 minutes for our food which wasn't bad at all. Our breakfast sandwiches were so good and filling. Great prices here too.

I ordered a slice of lemon cake, Boston cream and a drink today. I adore the special touch staff put into my order. So sweet with the drawing. The sponge cake was moist and I love the tartness of the lemon with the frosting.

Lovely place right next to the community garden. Staff bake fresh daily and have an amazing baked goods cabinet and a small range of fresh cooked menu items. I had baked french toast which was piping hot, had maple syrup and a dusting of icing sugar. And a big mug of americano black coffee. Lovely neighbourhood vibe on a Sunday day morning in autumn

Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness. Unfortunately, I was worried about not being able to roll it back up properly and making it inconvenient to carry (which it actually happened), so I took it away and ate it at the office. After about 40 minutes, the bread had become somewhat dry and hard.

We walked into a simple counter-service space with limited indoor seating, the kind of place that feels more like a grab-and-go stop than a sit-down lunch spot. Even with its small footprint, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for one of the signature sandwiches, and the energy of the room stayed practical and focused on getting orders out efficiently. The lobster roll is the clear standout. We ordered one and found it generously filled with lobster meat, making it feel substantial compared to many other lobster rolls around the city. Whether you choose it hot with butter or cold with mayo, the focus stays on the lobster itself rather than overwhelming it with extra ingredients. The toasted roll added just enough texture without taking away from the filling. Although the lobster roll gets most of the attention, the rest of the menu offers plenty of options if seafood is not what you are looking for. There are oversized sandwiches, soups like clam chowder, and classic sides that make it easy to find something for different tastes. The portions are generous overall, making the prices feel reasonable considering the amount of food you receive. The service was quick and efficient, which fits the fast-paced counter-service concept. The staff moved through orders with speed, and the food came out without much delay. The biggest thing to keep in mind is the limited seating, especially during lunch hours or peak tourist seasons in the North End. If the dining area is full, taking your food to go or finding a nearby outdoor spot can be a better option. Overall, Pauli's is a great stop if you are looking for a satisfying lobster roll without an overly formal seafood restaurant experience. The generous portions, straightforward menu, and convenient location make it an easy place to visit while exploring the North End, especially if lobster rolls are at the top of your list.

I've eaten here before (it's a small area, but does have a lot of seating) but normally I get it as take out. The cafe itself is super casual, it's the perfect place to pop into during lunch or after a walk. My food is always ready on time which is nice, and when I've eaten there I'm usually able to find a seat. The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend! Dinos is awesome! And the staff is very kind too (Note that the pic is taken from a train, I like to treat myself to Dino's before catching the Amtrak)

Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
