They are also very kind and patient with the wave of students that come in every morning and afternoon--as a parent I really appreciate this! The management has always been very sweet to my daughter which I am very grateful for. Now let's get to the donuts: amazing variety and super addicting. They have an onsite bakery where you can literally see them being a made from scratch every morning! I usually get the traditional glazed and the avocado toast of I'm trying to be healthy. The decor of the restaurant is super chic and very clean! It's definitely has the vibe of "come in and hang out with us for a while" I definitely plan on making The Salty a staple!

The brioche is incredibly fluffy, and that thick-cut, salty candied bacon on top creates the perfect sweet-and-savory profile. * Guava & Cheese: A total Miami classic. The whipped cream cheese and guava swirl are so nostalgic but elevated. * Boston Cream: Hands down one of the best I've had. The chocolate ganache is rich, and the filling isn't overly sweet--it's just right. * White Chocolate Tres Leches: If you want something decadent, this is it. It's soaked to perfection and topped with that toasted meringue that looks as good as it tastes. The Vibe:

It's thoughtful, intentional, and effortlessly cool. They have a seasonal menu for both matcha and coffee, which immediately had my attention. I ordered an iced coffee with pistachio cold foam and let me just say... this coffee did not come to play. Strong, smooth, perfectly balanced, by far one of the best coffees I've had in a whileeee. The kind that has you singing karaoke in the car afterward and feeling like life is good again. The vibe inside is super cute cozy but stylish, with plants, pastries on display, and just enough buzz to feel alive without being chaotic. It's also dog-friendly, which automatically earns bonus points. Henry absolutely loved it and felt very included . Bonus bonus: it's right by Edgewater, so you can grab your coffee and take a little walk by the water afterward to catch the breeze. Truly an ideal Miami morning. Amazing coffee, great energy, strong culture, and a space that feels both local and special. Magdalena is officially on repeat.

I will say the matcha quality has improved from the last time I got their matcha (maybe a year ago) They also have a pet wall which is the cutest thing . The Shakshuka was okay--perfectly edible, but nothing memorable. The Steak & Eggs was pretty much the same: decent, but definitely not worth the premium price. The biggest disappointment was the pancakes. They were dense, had noticeable lumps in the batter, and were nowhere near as light and fluffy as good pancakes should be. The syrup also didn't taste like real maple syrup, which was surprising considering how expensive everything is. Speaking of prices, Café Bastille is seriously overpriced for what it delivers. The restaurant also wasn't cool enough inside--the air conditioning struggled to keep the space comfortable, which made the meal less enjoyable. The one bright spot was the service. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did an excellent job throughout the meal. One more thing that is becoming increasingly frustrating in Miami: the bill already included a mandatory 20% gratuity. While I always tip for good service, automatically adding 20% regardless of the experience feels excessive. This trend is getting out of control and takes away the customer's ability to reward service based on merit. Overall, this feels like a place designed more for tourists than for locals. Nice presentation and good marketing, but the food simply doesn't justify the prices. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back.
