What a pleasant surprise, it was fantastic! I had the salmon with glazed sweet potatoes and goddess asparagus. Everything was very fresh, delicious, and protein cooked perfectly. We came here on a weekday a little before 7PM, and the line was out the door. We waited about 15 min before we made it to the counter to order, which wasn't terrible given it was our first time and we needed time to peruse the menu and make our decision. Cool vibe I'm not very big on the healthy chiq style of restaurants. I like to do healthy at home stick and to my chicken broccoli brown rice. My wife wanted to drag me out to this flower child place for something different so I went for it. It's a really cool restaurant located across the street from Rise one of my all time favorites. It's an open clean trendy health restaurant. When I mean clean I mean spotless. Even the organization behind the counter is pristine. I had the curry with chicken and my wife had the bird is the word rap. They are pretty pricy especially the curry when you add chicken. Portion size is ok. Not huge but not small. The curry was good. It wasn't straight out of India or spicy at all but had good flavor. Her wrap was also very good, mild and lacked seasoning but was good. My favorite part was the selection of tasty juices or infused waters they have for free refills. They were awesome and it was fun getting to try them all. Overall if you want something healthy, not too filling and clean. You can't really go wrong here. It's not going to blow your mind but should make you happy with minimal guilt. :) read more

As much as I enjoyed the Thai Dye, the side of Mac & Cheese blew the Thai Dye out of the water. I'll put the Mac & Cheese up to anyone's, it is a must to add to your order. A lot to be said for a place where you order at the counter and still feel a good quality of service as you eat. I've been to Flower Child's Austin location a few months back and loved it, so I was thrilled to see there's a Dallas outpost as well on a recent visit to the city. This a consistently good restaurant with reliably healthy options like salads, bowls, wraps, a kids menu, and tons of veggies. The prices are reasonable for a sit down place - slightly more than a grab-and-go location like Chipotle (~$10) but less than a waiter-service restaurant (~$25). I've loved everything I had here, but the Indian slices cauliflower and spicy eggplant with cashews are my two favorites. The bathrooms are clean, the restaurant is bright and airy and can accommodate larger parties, and the staff is ridiculously friendly. Really can't get better in my book! My girlfriend and I came in from out of town, hungry, looking for a healthy place to eat. Initially the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed so we decided to visit Flower Child. Previously we had been to their Austin location and enjoyed many of the flavors found within their food, in addition to the fact that their ingredients fit our very strict dietary restrictions. The amount of oil, however, was a bit too much for my taste, but they assured us next time we come in they could make it without any (which is AMAZING to find at any restaurant). So as we're ordering at the Dallas location, we're double-checking about the ingredients and requesting that they make my meal with no oil. They assure us that it's no problem, and read the order back to make sure. I decided to order a plate with organic brown rice, sautéed spinach with garlic, chili flakes, and lemon, and the Indian spiced cauliflower with turmeric, date, and almond. When my food arrived, though, it was completely flavorless. Literally nothing was seasoned and that was a major letdown for me. Luckily they offered up some lemons, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, but it didn't quite do it justice. ***Other than that, I am still grateful for the healthy food I was served and from what I've had before it is very delicious! I liked Flower Child. The setting is very cute and extremely Instagrammable. Everything from the chairs to the wall decor are totally on point. The food is also good, but pretty average as far as gluten free, vegetarian fare are concerned in my mind. I think for the cost, I deserve larger portions. My friend who eats and cooks gluten free came with me on a random weekday. We ordered the forbidden rice and curry bowl. You step up to the counter to order and can add various proteins in your bowl. We both opted for chicken. We had no trouble finding seats and our food came out very quickly. I liked the ingredients in my rice bowl. They were very fresh and I love forbidden rice in general. So, I was impressed by the quality. The chicken was also very tender and well seasoned. I didn't like the excessive amount of sauce in my bowl though. I wish I asked for it on the side. It overwhelmed the rice, which I like plain. I thought the veggies would be sauced and poured over the rice but the whole thing was mixed up in this sweet, salty sauce that I didn't like. My friend's curry bowl was really nicely flavored and the vegetables in her bowl were super fresh. We both liked the chicken but felt half a breast did not justify the $5 surcharge. I don't think I'll be coming back here mainly because of cost. The bowl itself is easy enough for me to make at home for a fraction of the price. For anyone on the go who doesn't readily have the ingredients at home, Flower Child would be a nice casual lunch spot. read more

Best place for a fast an easy salad! Their dressings are so unique in taste but also not overwhelmingly strong. I am a big fan of the seasonal avocado Caesar salad and I am so glad it is back! Between the chill music and bright atmosphere it is a pleasant place to eat and maybe even hang out a bit. I've only ever had takeout from Flower Child, so this review is specific to that! I've had takeout twice. The first time, I ordered the Mother Earth bowl with salmon and my friend picked up the food for us. The food was delicious and everything was perfect! The second time, I placed a group order online and picked up the food myself. My primary complaint is with the service - they were extremely crowded and seemed very overwhelmed, to the point where there were a dozen people just sitting around in the foyer waiting for pickup and to-go orders. Everyone's quoted wait time was extremely understated, and the wait staff seemed confused and very unsure of themselves with every order. I witnessed multiple people complain that their order was incorrect, and the kitchen having to redo several orders (which probably led to the long wait times for everyone else...). On top of that, the wait staff was not very communicative nor very apologetic when wait times stretched 20-30 min past quoted time. The food was mediocre the second time around. I ordered a plate with salmon, spinach, green beans and sweet potatoes. The food was generally good, but the overall portions were quite small. Certainly nothing special that I would go out of my way for! Not sure what to say... I love the healthy aspect of Flower Child and their menu options, but not sure if it's worth the wait and poor customer service! read more

Extremely overrated! Their food is sub-par, especially when most meals cost $10-15 and if you want protein you have to add on another $5-7. Their "fresh" juices are not made daily, but instead sitting out in ice all day and when you ask an employee when it was made they have no idea. The restaurant itself is very bright and a great setting for pictures, however the food is not worth the price tag. If you are a very picky eater and on a very healthy diet I can see this as a place to go to, but if you are just looking for somewhere new to try I do not recommend this place at all.
