Bam's Vegan I finally got the chance to try Bam's Vegan famous Classic Nachos: local corn tortilla chips, Truth sauce, quinoa lentil chili, tomato cilantro pico, jalapeño, chickpea sour cream, roasted garlic salsa. These nachos are so flavorful! I'm sure the craziest carnivore wouldn't miss the meat! The spice from the salsa and chili pairs perfectly with coolness of the sour cream. The lime adds a burst that brings all the flavors together. A lot of thought were put into these nachos that I appreciate as a 90% vegan. It's not just thrown together. This is my third time here. I'm a "sometimes" vegan/vegetarian. I only eat meat 2-3 times per week and could do so even less if this spot were closer to me. Today I grabbed a hummus wrap and spinach Alfredo from the to-go cooler. All their food is vegan, homemade, and delicious! The wrap and the pasta were were full of flavor. Even a hard core carnivore would enjoy the food. The portion sizes are filling. Their menu does change. Follow their IG account for store hours, menu updates, etc. There are always nice choices in the grab & go cooler, as well as a variety of made to order smoothies, loaded nachos, and a main entree of the day. Today's entree was jack fruit pot roast plate - it smelled heavenly, but I had lots of stops to make on the way home, so didn't get it. This spot is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking spaces. Staff is always customer service friendly. Worth the wait! This place serves up remarkable vegan food that's complex in flavor and presentation. We went by Bam today in anticipation of their shrimp and sausage vegan nachos and they did not disappoint. There was a line of course because this is the place to be on a Saturday. We order quickly and then went outside to wait. It did take a while but like I said worth the wait and the people behind the counter were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our nachos were a work of art (see picture). When I say these nachos were loaded, they were packed full of savory goodness. The cheese sauce had just enough kick to it. The lime wedge added the right amount of brightness. The sausage and shrimp were plentiful which I have found other vegan places not to be so generous but not here! There were also plenty of chips to scoop up all the goodness. The portion was so large you could easily feed two people. My friend and I didn't realize how large the portions were so of course we each could only eat half. Now everyone knows left over nachos are not good but let me tell you, I sure did eat that other half for dinner and enjoyed every single bite. Don't let this hole in the wall place fool ya. Love my Vegan food and this place is amazing , I ordered the Po Boy , rice,and bean . The Cauliflower was seasoned and tender perfectly cooked . The lemonade was cold and fresh squeezed . Now if you're like me you're thinking how does this vegan stuff work with nachos? The nachos came out and were topped with a meat substitute, a sauce (instead of queso), pico de gallo, jalapeños, beans, and my personal favorite little springs of cilantro. Although it didn't taste exactly like queso.. these were bomb! They were just as delicious as they looked yall. When I finished my plate, I was upset because it was all gone. The nachos were plentiful, and the meal also comes with a bottle of water (which was clutched cause your girl stuffed her face and needed something to wash it down with!) The establishment (to my knowledge) is known for its nachos, but has a few other entrees and has soups, wraps, and smoothies to enjoy. I am not a vegan, but the nachos here SLAP! I was introduced to this place by my friend who follows this young man on Instagram. The photos of the nachos is what got me. The first time I came to this spot, it was only open on certain days and at certain times. You had to follow him (Bam is what he goes by. Tell me if I'm wrong!) on Instagram to see when he would be open. I pulled up and it was a line outside already. Now he has a more dedicated opening and closing schedule. This review is only for the nachos cause that's all I ever get. Baby, when I tell you, eating these nachos in no way, shape or form, taste like you eating something vegan. It gots to be the seasoning because them lentils taste like meat! My only issue is the topping ratio vs the chip ratio. I'm sure if I ask to not have so many chips to balance out that toppings to chip ratio they would accommodate me. I get to the bottom and I've already ate the toppings lol The "nacho cheese" they put on there is delicious. I can see myself putting it on top of other foods. They have a "grab and go" type cooler set up with drinks and that "nacho cheese" sauce with other goodies. The inside is small. There are a few chairs and a table inside where you can either sit and wait or eat, if it's not crowded. They also have this cute little book nook wedged in-between the cooler and table. I have been following Bam from afar for four years and could not wait to try his cuisine. I arrived Friday shortly after lunch and selected the famous nachos. Since I had a bit of a drive, I opted for the deconstructed version, which ended up being a smart choice. They do a really good job packaging all of the toppings. When I arrived to my friends home, I prepare about half and when I tell you the hype is worth it -- my goodness. The cheese, "meat", cream, fresh jalapeños, cilantro, salsa, chips all came together beautifully. I selected the bbq jackfruit pasta from the grab and go area and brought it home wind me. It was very good, but I know it would have really tasted great if purchased fresh. I was disappointed that I would not be in town for the birria tacos served later that weekend. My daughter enjoyed one of the smoothies and raves about it. It is a very small shop, so count on eating your food elsewhere. The guy taking my order was cordial, but helpful. I've been following Bam's Vegan for quite some time on Instagram and I was so stoked to find out that they opened here in Irving. Upon pulling up, there was a line around the corner of the building. However, it was not unbearable and moved fairly quickly. The owner also came out to make sure everyone was good and thanked us for patiently waiting. The Sunday dinner smelled amazing and was packed with flavor! The cauliflower, green beans and mac had a kick which I really enjoyed. The macaroni was very good! Loved the turmeric flavor and coconut shreds on top. The banana cornbread was so bomb. That and the yams gave the meal the sweetness it needed. Can't wait to go back. I had the pleasure of eating here by default. I drive with Uber and was doing a delivery for the restaurant. This is a cute store front grab and go, black owned restaurant. I met the owner and his mom! I would rate the Customer service 10 out of 10. Even though this spot is a grab and go, you get the family feeling when you enter the establishment. Family owned and everyone was in attendance. On to the food review! I had the nachos and oh my gawd!!!! Definitely set the bar high! I plan on returning and trying everything on the menu. The flavor? Just like their nachos, it's layered with flavor. I'm shaking my head reminiscing on how good it was! I would like to add I'm NOT a spicy person at all but this had the right amount of heat / kick to it....10 out of 10 I highly recommend this spot!
