I got efficient service and while the place was busy at least on a weekday walking in was realistic. The solid business is notable given that the area is suffering from some major construction-related difficulties. The pita was warm, chewy, and actually had flavor on its own, and the baba ganoush was smoky, creamy, and one of those things you keep eating even after you've told yourself to stop because your entrée is coming. And when they ask if you want more sourdough pita and you say no, just know you're making a mistake and should just say yes. For dinner, we ordered the lamb tagine and branzino. The lamb tagine was the standout for my husband. It has an amazing rich glaze, warm, incredibly flavorful but not gamey, and exactly the kind of dish I want when I'm going somewhere specifically to eat good food I can't make at home. There was a lot going on flavor-wise, but it all made sense. Nothing felt thrown onto the plate just to make it seem more sophisticated. The branzino was the complete opposite in a good way. Lighter, delicate, and really well prepared. Perfect crispy skin. If you're deciding between the two, get the lamb if you want something rich and comforting and the branzino if you want something fresher and lighter. Or go with someone who will share and avoid making responsible decisions altogether. I also had the Sicilian Spritz, which was bright, refreshing, and paired really well with the Branzino. Not obnoxiously sweet, which I appreciate immensely in a cocktail. Overall, Clio knows what it's doing, which is apparent by the fact this is their second location. The menu is interesting without being intimidating, the food is beautifully done without feeling pretentious, and the whole experience feels special enough for a date night while still being somewhere I'd happily go just because I wanted really good food. The saffron rice is a classic and the pairing of fermented veggies on the side only emphasized the fresh, light and delicious flavor. Compared to the downtown location I wasn't as big of a fan overall of the food experience, though I deeply enjoyed my plate. A lot of aspects were not as fresh as the downtown location which was a bit of a bummer. I also got the non alcoholic "wine" which was absolutely DELICIOUS! It was alright, but was cold when I got it home, so maybe the container they put it in doesn't retain heat so well. Basic Mac and cheese with a tiny bit of pulled pork on top and bbq sauce. If you couldn't tell, I ordered a few side things in case the sandwich was gross. I also grabbed the Broccoli Cheese soup. Now, when it comes to broccoli cheese soups, the one I measure them all against is the Panera one that comes in a bread bowl. And this was nothing compared to that. Kind of bland and also cold. Now I know you're saying "couldn't you just heat up these cold items?" And to that I say "I shouldn't have to do that, when I literally live a block from the store!" I love a good club sandwich. I like to add on a side salad because their salad bar is REALLY good with a lot of options. I brought the issue up with management and the reaction I received, was a blank stare. I love Jason's Deli. It's always fresh and the staff is always very friendly and nice. Get the soft drink syrup to carbonated water ratio corrected and your sales will increase!!! Come On!!!
